We were in the area and had to stop in to Tacos Lopez! We actually drove past it before turning back to find it! What a great experience- you got to know what you want before heading to the counter. The folks are really nice but the crowd will be expecting you to move along! At 345pm on a Saturday is amazing! We did end up getting a table but it is BUSY! The taco choice is fantastic- we got 5 Carne Asada 4 pastor and a cheese quesadilla which came with beans and cheese. The food is fantastic and love that they dressed all the tacos. Got the grill onions and jalapeño on the side all excellent. The restaurant is busy - it's a quick meal but awesome tacos

Some of the best tacos I've had, anywhere. All of the meats we tried (al pastor, carne asada, chorizo) were incredible. We saw the huge al pastor rotisserie and thought nothing would top that, but all options were truly excellent. The guac, tortillas, and agua frescas were also top-notch. There's a salsa bar with several options, one of which had a nice heat! My husband recommends the quesadillas too. It's busy, crowded, and loud- we felt lucky to grab a couple spots at the counter- but things move quickly, and we didn't see anyone waiting too long for food. Will definitely return!

The food was mid, it did have a lot of flavor but unfortunately, we got food poisoning (4 out of 5 did) because he only had a horchata and did not even eat anything so he looked out, but us other four was extremely sick. This is a very small building for how busy it is and how loud the music is playing you can't even hear the cashier! it's just not a very clean environment. Brings me back to the cashier who couldn't hear me and messed up my order (reason why my son didn't eat here) she didn't even get the poor kid cheese quesadilla.... WORST FIRST EXPERIENCE HERE AND WONT EVER RECOMMEND!! One thing for advice on the employees is to WASH YOUR HANDS and learn English because you didn't even understand the words of the little old lady who ordered before us!!!

Asada and Al pastor tacos. Best Al pastor I've ever tasted!

This has got to be one of The Best tacos in the valley. No, I haven't tried every single taco in the valley, of course. And since I've only lived here for five months, I'm definitely a newbie. But I can definitely stand by my statement. Let me explain... I just moved from Tucson, Arizona. You know...Tucson? Mexican food utopia? Tucson is the first North American city to be named by UNESCO as a Gastronomic Capital of the World. Yep. Mostly for its wide variety and quality of Mexican food, Tucson has an incredible array of cultures represented in restaurant cuisine. I've been a Yelp Elite there for 13 years. I have eaten at a lot of tacos from restaurants and the dynamic food truck scene there. I had my doubts moving here that I would find any good Mexican food. Tacos Lopez has the best al pastor that I've ever had in my life! You read that right. I knew that I was at the right place. I arrived five minutes to closing. It was still busy and bustling with business. Shoot, it was party time there. There was no English being spoken in the restaurant. Yes, I'm at the right place. The tacos are Tijuana style. The meat is SOOOOO good! The carne asada is also muy excellente! I just love the presentation, the ingredients, the flavors--everything is excellent. I enjoy their horchata and limonade. I always say "Si!" when they ask if I want the onions and peppers. They are grilled onions and jalapeno peppers and they are SO good! Served in a paper tray. I've been here four or five times. Consistently good. Service is quick. Ambiance is a busy cafe, crowded, you probably share a long table with others. There is outdoor seating, which is always full because every time I've been there, it has been packed. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

They have the best al pastor tacos I've tried anywhere. The efficiency of their line, cleanliness, and ordering process could be vastly improved. 5/5 for food, 3/5 for the experience.

Definitely my favorite tacos in Utah. Buche and chorizo were my favorites. Can get busy, but worth the wait.

Wow, excellent service. The guy came out to my window after I left, he noticed that I didn't get any salsa. I mentioned that I had never been to the restaurant before, I think he wanted to make sure I got salsa if I wanted some. That saved me the frustration of getting home to find that I didn't have what I needed. Another thing that was nice that they did was ask how far I was going, I got it to go. He realized that the tortillas would get soggy, so he put them on the side. I love a new restaurant because they do everything they can to make the experience the very best. I hope that they continue to think of themselves as a new restaurant 50 years from now. If they do, this will be an incredibly successful restaurant. I wish you and your staff the very best

The Al pastor meat was good but a little on the sweet side. We loved the spicy red salsa. The Alambre meat was good but the pineapple tasted over ripe. Also the lengua was not super fresh almost tasted boiled. The burrito shells were good but nothing really stood out to me.

Unfortunately, this visit was very different. We were seated quickly and given menus, but then no one came to greet us or take care of us. We watched several other tables get seated and receive chips and salsa while we continued waiting. The restaurant was somewhat busy, so at first we assumed they were just behind. After waiting quite a while, I finally got up and spoke with one of the managers at the front. He immediately apologized and sent someone over to our table, who was also very apologetic. We ordered two tamales as an appetizer--which were amazing and definitely lived up to what they are known for--and shared the enchiladas since they come with four. Our first server brought the tamales and then told us that Nadia would be taking over our table. However, we never saw Nadia. Eventually, the other server brought our enchiladas, which were also very good. Unfortunately, after that, no one came back to check on us for the remainder of the meal. I had ordered water with ice, which had completely melted, and honestly wished I had ordered something else because there was never an opportunity to ask. At that point, it felt like we had once again been forgotten. A different manager eventually came over and apologized again. He offered to pay for our dinner, which was an incredibly generous gesture and very much appreciated. The whole situation was a little awkward because we could see staff at the front discussing the situation and looking over at our table, but then no one actually came back to check on us. When we were ready to leave, I finally got up and asked if there was anything we needed to do before leaving. Thankfully, the manager confirmed everything had been taken care of. I really have to give credit to the restaurant managers for recognizing the situation and doing their best to make it right. We have eaten here several times before and the food has consistently been excellent, especially the tamales. Because of our previous experiences and the way management handled this situation, we will definitely be back. Hopefully, this was just an unfortunate one-off experience because La Casa del Tamal truly has amazing food.
