I've been going to Nacho Mama's since their inception and I Love This Place. If you're looking for 'Mexican" food than go to Mexico because you'll rarely find it at a restaurant. The concept here is simply ... take the things we love most about our idea of "Mexican Food" and twist it around. Then, throw in some catchy names. You come in and look at the menu on the wall to your left as you wait to order at the counter. They prepare and/or cook your order where you can see them and call your name when it's ready. I suggest going and claiming your seats so you can get settled and the 'pick-up' is in a narrow area. Most of the ingredients are prepped in house ... I like to sit upstairs and I've watched them dice cases of tomatoes during one visit. Nice mix on the drinks and they carry some traditional liquors that make for one killer top shelf Margarita! In the beginning, you picked up after yourself and dropped it off but now there are table cleaners so tip! That's it for now cause I know I have pics and I'm just getting started here. Surely Broad Street deserves better Mexican food than what this slop house serves up. It doesn't have to taste like the real deal; it just needs to taste like something--as long as it doesn't taste like leftovers from some cafeteria's steam table (surely even S&S could manage to make better food than this). I have indulged my native Augustan friends who persist in their misguided loyalty to this place in the past, but after tonight, never again. I have had a variety of food here- unwrapped burritos, tacos and nachos- and it is all amazing! One of my favorite places to eat in augusta!

I was so disappointed in this place. I walked in and the decor looked amazing and fun, but the food was terrible. I watched the employees cook both melt my cheese for my nachos and then microwave the nachos again once chicken was added. The chicken was very tough and flavorless. Another person in my party also ordered tacos, and it was just lettuce with 5 pieces of chicken per taco. This was the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. Excellent Daddy Nachos! The portion was so big for such a good price. Don't even get me started on the margarita. It was out of this world! The chips tasted homemade and were very good. Yes, please! I happened to give them a try on a whim and I am so glad I did. The nachos were great! I just really wanted a good cheesy nacho and they have many options. I got the cheese sauce and added shredded pork. They were very fast and the prices are extremely reasonable! read more

This was by far the worst food I have had in this area. I ordered the Copan burrito and it was terrible. There was NO flavor in the rice, the pinto beans were undercooked. The burrito itself was bland and offered no excitement. I would steer clear of this place. read more

Food is tasty! First impressions from Shannon who took our order at the counter were enough to have me come back. Service is huge part of why I return to any restaurant. I'm an out of town-er and judge restaurants hard. I will return before I leave. The Mahi Mahi tacos were delicious. Chicken & black bean taco also delicious. This place is heavenly , one of my favorite places to eat downtown. The food is texmex as long as you aren't from San Antonio or the likes . It is a great place to eat during the day or for early pre-bar food, though the area does get a little dicey later at night. Great food overall. read more

Had the nachos and my friend had a burrito. Although the sizes are huge, it was mediocre. We were told Broad street is where we could grab dinner and a popular spot in town but I guess coming from Miami that term varies. Nacho Mamas is the worst excuse for Mexican food I have ever tasted. There was no seasoning in the food. The refried bean taco had beans with no seasoning, shredded iceberg lettuce, pico de gallo consisting of chopped tomatoes, chopped onion, and scant parsley, and chopped onion. My husband's nachos had canned, diced tomatoes on them. Again, no seasoning. To be fair, the two-tablespoon serving of guacamole was fresh and delicious. Don't bother stopping here. Just keep driving to Chili's or anywhere there is air conditioning because that's all the satisfaction you'll get here. read more

Got a pork taco, a beef taco and a mahi taco. On the hard tacos the shells were served cold, so instead of being crispy they are chewy. The mahi was ok, but nothing special. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the restroom. Their's is a crime scene, I get the whole patina thing of a downtown restaurant, this place is dirty. First, I truly enjoy a chance to support locally owned restaurants. There is nothing more satisfying than visiting a locally owned restaurant where everything is made in house, or at least everything that the restaurant is suppose to be known for. A mom and pop Italian restaurant featuring homemade pastas. A pizza place where the dough is prepared fresh daily. A sandwich shop where they bake their own bread. A hamburger joint that grinds their own meat. A Mexican restaurant where the tortillas and corn chips are made in house every day. Unfortunately, Nacho Mammas is not a place that does this. The namesake nachos are prepared with prepackaged chips that taste similar to Tostitos and served room temperature straight out of the bag. The tortillas are also factory produced. I get that factory made is easier but I was really hoping for a local Mexican(ish) restaurant that went the extra mile. I guess I got use to fresh chips and tortillas when I lived in Texas and just really miss the soft, chewy texture of a handmade tortilla and the warm, crispy crunch of fresh corn chips. I guess I will stick to Diablos and Moe's. Yes, these are chain restaurants/franchises but at least the chips are tasty. read more

Below average Mexican food.... No better than moe's. Not enough chips and food was bland. Burritos were filled with too much lettuce not enough meat and could not cut it or basic pick it up because it had sauce and sour cream on top. Go to Pablano's or Mi Rancho. read more

Disappointed! The place has a cool vibe to it (would be better if every picture wasn't promoting smoking dope) but the food is tasteless. If they could figure out how to add some depth to these dishes it would be a really great place to eat... but unfortunately it's NOT. I was introduced to Nacho Mama's by some cowokers, and I am glad they took me there. I had the grilled mahi mahi soft taco and the chips & queso. The food was great, as were the prices. I will be back many times in the future. read more

This place is pretty good. I love the guacamole. The chips are very salty if you like that, and I do. The food portions are huge. We had a variety of food and everything was decent. I wish the sundance sauce was spicy. I bet this place gets packed. read more
