Don't try to spend your money here Went to this place spoke to the owner needed door panels replaced on my car. He told me he was too busy for a couple of weeks come in again I patiently waited. A couple of weeks went in. He was not there, but the lady that was working asked me what I needed. I told her he had seen my car had given me a price told me to come back in so she scheduled an appointment a week later I did ask her was it possible to do it sooner? She said no patiently waited a week back in and was told a different price by the owner and he couldn't do it today. I pointed out I had made a reservation the lady had put my information in the book and he said not it doesn't matter we're too busy, put me back in a couple of weeks I pointed out again. I've come to see him waited patiently had scheduled a time and a day a week ago and he said it doesn't matter. He's too busy. I just cannot give enough stars to Nacho Upholstery. I have an 2004.5 Volvo S40. I am in no financial position to buy a new car or a car payment. I figured I would do some interior work on my 18 year old car. Volvo's last forever. The staff is so friendly! I did check out a local competitor prior and they stated twice over what Nacho's and they would keep my car for 4 - 5 days. I dropped my car off at 8 AM and it was done by 12 PM. I expected at least end of day. It was very surprised but they had two guys working on it. I did have arm rest console work done also. Nacho has worked on two of my cars, and did an excellent job...but... He was known as the go-to-guy for motorcycles upholstery. I know many bikers who went there. Even my motorcycle repair shop recommended him. A year ago, my hard saddlebags needed the leather recovered. I called, and he said to bring them in. It was a few months before I could get there. When I did, he just says, "No, I don't do that." No explanation, no reason, just "No." Talked with a few others bikers and they said the same. After submitting a quote request with photos on Yelp this past Thursday I was contacted by Gloria and asked to bring the vehicle in. I brought my vehicle in on Friday for an estimate on reupholstering my front seat. Nacho took a look at it and gave me an estimate, which I agreed to. I asked to schedule the work for as soon as possible, and Nacho walked me over to the front desk where he and another worker looked at their calendar and said they were pretty sure they'd be able to get me in on Monday or Tuesday. They wrote my name and number down on the calendar and said they'd call me Monday morning, or I could call them. I said I'd call because I really wanted to ensure we'd be able to get the vehicle in as soon as possible. The other associate said, "Don't worry, we'll be able to get you in Monday or Tuesday." First thing Monday morning I called. They put Nacho on the phone and I recapped our Friday conversation and asked about bringing my car in. He literally laughed out loud and said he was jam-packed all week and there was no way they could do it. When I reminded him of our conversation he laughed again and said "That was only if someone didn't keep their appointment." Which is absolutely not what they told me in person on Friday. If I knew that had been the case, I would've continued looking for someone else to do the job these past several days instead of relying on this team to keep their word. My impression is they'll tell you what they want to hear to potentially get your business but laugh in your face when it no longer suits their needs. Obviously they have enough business without me as a customer, and they'll probably feel the same way about your potential business as well. read more

I had an older Toyota Corolla that had some of the cloth falling off of the door panels and simply needed to be reglued on. I contacted many auto Upholstery shops and I got estimates of $90+ to make the very simple fix. Nacho quoted 750 to 800 over phone to recover 'both' front seats ( but not the back covers of these same two seats). Seats & foam were in good condition and still covered by existing seat material. I had just bought this used vehicle as a second car and the covering surface was wearing & dingy so I wanted to replace / freshen it up. I go to see Nacho in person, drive car in, he starts asking questions like what I do for a living, what other cars I own, how much I paid for car, etc. and talks about & shows me seats laying around that others never picked up because they have been working on their cars for years (?). (my car is just a generic 20 year old SUV). Then he then points out that the drivers seat, the section of the bottom seat next to door side, had been recovered before. I looked more closely and the section that the side of your left thigh rests against had stitching that looked like a drunk did it and the vinyl was a slightly different color. I said something like "...oh, wow, you're right..". And we laugh about the poor workmanship. He shows me a book of vinyl samples, I look through asking if this is all there is. He says "...everyone uses the same stuff.." "...This is all we use, unless customers bring us their own material". It all looks fine to me. I'm told they are all the same price, so I choose a generic beige color and then needing to wrap the visit up - I ask "how much?" "$1,400" he says. I mention our phone conversation where he quoted 750 ~ 800, which by looking at his face, he suddenly remembers, and now he starts the double talk. We both agree that if you are going to do something "you do it right". I thank him and say I will think about it and pleasantly leave. I pull over and google surrounding auto upholstery shops in the area wondering if I somehow got confused about price quote over the phone. I drive over to one nearby on Vanowen (Nacho's is on Victory). Pull in, big place, Pedro is helping a guy with a new top model Tesla who nicked his interior fabric, I wait. Pedro quickly finishes and he looks in my car, shows me same brand sample book, but for some reason he has more samples and version / options in his book as well as another brand sample book I can choose from. He quotes $750 total for 'both' seats, not redoing the back covers which are in excellent condition (same covers Nacho wanted to leave alone too) and writes quote and sample color I chose on his business card. I drive off sobered to my conversation with Nacho. But also wondered if I was just being gouged or if there might be a quality / craftsmanship component to the price difference ? The person I had purchased this used SUV from was friendly and said I could call if I ever had any questions. I remembered this because now I worried that since they also lived in same area that perhaps that seat section that Nacho pointed out, that had the terrible stitching, could have been done by a low priced local shop that I should avoid. I call him and he says.. "oh yeah, I had that repaired years ago, it was really worn." I asked if he remembered where he had the work done. "I took it to a place called Nacho's... I think they're on Victory or something... they did an ok job I guess.. but I wouldn't go back". "Why do you ask?" read more

There's apparently a thing that happens with a lot of Volkswagens: Their headliners fall. Within 6 months, it happened to our 2010 Passat and the 2002 Jetta - ironically just as both were hitting about 100K miles. We found Nacho's and after he and his team did a terrific job on the Jetta, we had them do the Passat.
