My daughter purchased a new car and gave me her old used 2002 Celica. I had a new engine installed and mechanically it runs great but her front leather seats were terrible. You were actually sitting on the springs!! Tecos Auto Upholstery was recommended by my mechanic. His price was fantastic!!! His turnaround time was fantastic!!! His work is fantastic!!! Since the car is 23 yrs old.I didn't know the original leather color. He match the leather to the dashboard and door panels. Took my 98 Jeep Cherokee for a driver bracket broken and some repair on the cushion. It took them two entire days to have this fixed and did not bother communicating anything to me. I practically had to hunt them down to get an update on the car. The seat also had a tear on the lower cushion and they didn't even bother to notify me of it to ask if I wanted it repaired as I didn't mention it. I was more than happy to pay an additional fee but at least notify the customer. So... after two days I still got my seat back torn. read more

These guys don't know what there doing.Had them reupholster a glove box and they left dents and creases in it had to take it back to them.. And second time still no good they used cheap viny that squeaks on bumps. Plus the old guy isn't there no more new workers that do crappy work.. read more

I took in a seat for my Toyota Supra Turbo that had a damaged zipper track. They needed to take apart the seat in order to replace (re-sew) the zipper track. They said it would take a few days to do the fix. After a few days, I did not hear a response so I called to follow up. They said the seat was done and ready for pickup. Repair cost was $60 dollars. When I came by the shop, the zipper track was all together and looked good. I paid and left. Later that day under careful inspection, I noticed the zipper track was not changed - only the zipper itself. They did not even use the proper color zipper. These are black leather & alcantara seats and they used a BROWN zipper (sigh). I called and complained to the owner about the bait and switch. He offered to give me 20 dollars back. This is not an honest shop and I do not think they are trust worthy. Buyer beware. read more

The interior headliner in my Honda Accord had come loose in a few spots, so it was sagging down a bit, and when my wife and I drove around with the windows down, it would billow and flap a little in the breeze. It looked bad and drove me nuts. I read some do-it-yourself instructions on line, watched some "How To" videos, but realized how much work and money would have to go into fixing it, and if I messed it up at all, I'd probably spend just as much doing it a second time myself as I would if I found a reasonably priced professional who knows what they're doing. I searched Yelp for locations close to me and got Tecos Auto Upholstery, and I'm glad I did. I called in to make an appointment and was told I could come in the next morning, drop it off, and have it back later that day. We talked color and price, and he quoted me a really reasonable rate. I took the car by, left it there after talking with him, and had my wife pick me up. Within a few hours, I got a call, telling me the work was done. We drove back over and I checked it out - amazing! It looked like a new interior, smooth and clean. As a bonus, an interior light that had been out of service worked again - I asked about it, and the guy said it was a loose wire he saw when he removed the headliner, so he fixed it, no charge. I tipped him extra on top of the price we agreed on. Great work, fair price - very satisfied! read more

My hooligan brothers managed to rip a hole in my back seat on a recent road trip we took. I brought my car in to another place for a quote and was told it would be $425 to patch it. I have a 2003 Audi TT convertible and 2 years ago during the hot summer months my back windshield came undone from the canvas. At the time, I was having the vehicle services for regular maintenance and the mechanic called and said that the glue gave way and the windshield slid out. For this model at the time, Audi was gluing the windshield in but with these hot CA summer days, of course that would never hold up. When I went to pick my car up, the mechanic had CUT the defroster wires and the glass was just hanging. This was a way for them to get the business of fixing it. I didn't go for it. So for the past 2 years I've just kept the top down during the day and use a car cover when not garaged. I have seen Tecos Auto Upholstery even before this mishap. Today I did have time and I drove past to check the place out. I told the guy what I wanted and he explained to me what could be done and what he would warranty. So I opted for an alternative to my original glass windshield. It all sounded good and the charge was very reasonable. I have an appointment this Thursday. That to be said, my first impression of the place is very cluttered but an organized clutter. Its a small location and the drive/ lot is full of cars. The guy was very nice and he gave me the impression to trust him that he will do a good job. I will completed a follow up review after his work is completed. read more

The headliner on my 2003 Nissan Xterra was completely falling off. The adhesive and cushion were completely toasted up and disintegrated from 12 years of heat from the sun. So I began looking for a good upholsterer in the Van Nuys/North Hollywood region. A few years back I had the same problem on a much smaller car, a Nissan Sentra, and it cost about $90 so I used this as my point of reference when shopping for quotes. The place was some where in South Central. I began to dig around for prices, looking on google and yelp. I even drove around Van Nuys one morning asking auto body shops if they could recommend a good auto upholsterer. I also asked friends if they could recommend anyone. Once I compiled a list, I took a couple of hours one morning to call every upholsterer for a quick quote. As I mentioned earlier, $90 for a Nissan Sentra was my point of reference, so I knew I would be paying around 160 or 180, which was my target range. I was convinced of this. Worst case scenario, I would have to pay $200. So I began calling ever single upholstery joint in the area and quickly became disillusioned. The prices I was getting seemed absurd. 325, 375, 425, 300.... etc. After calling like 8 or 9 places , the lowest quote I had gotten was $250. I think this place was North Hollywood upholstery. I thought "okay.. this sucks but I guess it's the best I can get". However I had one last place to call, Tecos Upholstery. By this point, I had very little hope of finding something under $250, but I called anyway. I described the problem to the guy over the phone. I told him the year, make, and model. I also told him that there was a moon roof to work around. I was quick and thorough in my description, it being that I had done this phone thing almost 10 times. He seemed like a nice guy over the phone, much more than the other dudes I talked to. I could sense that this guy wanted the work more than he wanted to stick it to me. When I called the other places it seemed like they didn't care if you brought your car in or not. They were just throwing high prices out there to see if you would bite. But not at Tecos. As soon as I started talking to the guy I got a good feeling about it. Anyway, I finished telling him what the problem was and just said "150". I was like wtf?!?. Maybe I heard it wrong so I repeated it back to him and said "150?" He said yeah. And I said "awesome!!". I called on a Friday and asked if I could bring it in Monday and he said yes. He also mentioned that they opened Saturdays from 8am to 3pm. I think they open from 8am to 6pm during the week, which is great because they asked me to leave my car there. I don't think it takes them all day to do one car, but they just get so much work that they can't exactly know when they'll get to your car. However, it was great because they open early enough that I took a lyft to work and back. They called me around 4pm and said my car was ready! I was so excited. However, since the price was so low, I was nervous the work would be sub-par. I also worried that they might try and change the price on me last minute. I got to Tecos at around a a quarter to 6pm and went up to the guy. He grabbed my keys and walked me over to my car. My anxiety was killing me at this point. I took my keys and opened my lift gate. And there it was! I was amazed at the quality of both their work and the the material! They left it looking as if it has just been purchased in 2003! I must have thanked the guy about 40 times. I also told them I would write a kick ass review! So here it is :). In end I asked "so it was 150 yeah?" -- still in disbelief. And he smiled and said "yep". I pulled out the 150 and paid him on the spot. And I pulled out whatever other cash was in my wallet (I think it was like 15 bucks) and gave him that too! I was just too excited. Thank you so much Tecos for being awesome, nice, honest, and well-priced. These guys really want the work and it shows. The hype is real! I was recommended to Tecos by my auto body shop. They said they trust Tecos to do all of their upholstery work. I read the Yelp reviews and it seemed that Tecos had a lot of happy customers. My car is a black '99 BMW M3. The driver's side carpeting had worn through. Worse still, my sun roof lining and most of my ceiling lining was starting to fall down. I met with Miguel at Tecos and he assured me he could fix all of it like new, including the passenger's side front seat so that everything up front matched well. That he did. His pricing was also significantly less than others as well, who did not promise nearly as good of a result. When I picked up my car, Miguel mentioned to me that he noticed my driver's side seat was no longer tilting back anymore with its motorized switch. I said that had been a problem for more than a few years now. He asked if I wanted it fixed. I said sure, cautiously waiting for the price. To my surprise the price was significantly less than what my mechanic told me several years back it would cost. I am now ecstatic that I have new carpet, new ceiling lining, and a fully functional driver's seat, which my lower back in particular is happy about. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT TEAM, BEST PRICES I was shopping around to update the headliner for my older truck. Many places gave me a high quote and then I stumble on Yelp at this location. Anyways I called and I receive a quote I could not resist. After many weeks of debating whether or not to invest the money in my vehicle right now I decided to do it. I went in and I smiled at a group of people having their lunch and a Gentleman greeted me with a warm smile and disregarded his lunch time to assist me. He honored the price quote and his energy was like meeting up with an old friend. The service took a while but you know you can't rush talent.
