They know what they're doing with these burgers!! The place itself is a little hard to find and the seating can be rough if you're coming out of work and have your jacket or bags. Dude!!!! I was in town for the 2023 Chicago marathon and wanted to go out downtown to celebrate. I can't lie, it was late and not a lot of restaurants were still serving food, so it was really my only option. BUT, their smash burger is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I ordered and was asked if I wanted to close out my tab right away? They add a 20% service charge, they want that on top of the tip. I don't understand why? This is a bar which serves burgers. Place needs a deep clean. Flies everywhere. The kitchen looked terrible. The burger itself was ok but very salty. Absolutely nothing special about the burger. Salt and Red Hot Ranch are definitely better. The Beast Mode fries were terrible. Also very salty. It's shameful what this place charges for them. This place did not live up to the hype. Chose to come here because it had good ratings. Was kinda disappointed with the fact that you can't take any ingredients out of the burger for ex jalapeños. The service was okay. You literally have to get up and order at the bar, your food comes out, then you gotta get up and pay at the bar. Plus they tip themselves $20 already additional to your bill. Total was $77. After he was done, I showed him the bloody burger and he fixed it. That's no way to behave to a customer and dumb new waiter for not just going to the kitchen to get a new one. I visited recently and my bill went from $68.00 to $99.00. Let me break it down for you. There was a service charge in the amount of $13.60 attached to my bill, before taxes. This was exactly 20% of my bill. I was informed that $8.00 of it went to the staff in the back, which leaves the server with 5.60. And, if I wanted to add extra to the tip it that was ok to do so. This makes my bill $81.60 without being taxed. Then I was taxed 11.75% on the service charge and food, bringing my bill to $91.13. In addition, I felt bad that the server was losing over half to the staff in the back so I added the $8.00 back on that he was losing, which put me at 99.13. This equals $31.13 added on to my bill. This alone makes me not want to come back. And to top it all off, the burger was mid level. They put too many pickles and jalapeño peppers with onions that were caramelized and left to cook so long, without moisture, they were tough. The fries were delicious though and my child loved the drinks. It had a speakeasy feel with dope music. That is still not enough to make me come back. read more
