Fraud alert! And Horrible customer service - Stay away! The doctor told us our kids treatment would costs us over $3500 per child and the insurance would not cover it . When we asked to provide us a report on what treatment is required and their respective costs, he rudely said $250 for a report! The doctor even refused to provide insurance company the information. The insurance company called them on conference call with us and the staff refused to provide the job codes to them. Avoid at all costs. Multiple times during doing my Invisalign molding he got the mold in my hair even in my nose! He is dishonest about pricing. I had my Invisalign for 7months, and my teeth are not completely straight even though he said that they were done. He was late to his appointments all the time. Yes he is cheaper than the competition, but definitely not worth it. He offered me 1 retainer for $600, and I found the same Invisalign retainer at another orthodontist for $150. Also, when my insurance sent them my reimbursement check- the office was very sketchy about it. It took them nearly four months to reimburse me $2k. First Dr Dayani tries to discredit Yelp as a service. He has withdrawn that tactic and now he tries to claim I was not a patient at all. Thankfully this forum exists for people to be able to research businesses and hold doctors accountable for their treatment efficacy. Ten years later and that Elite status is starting to hurt, isn't it Dr Dayani? Always read the one star reviews--that goes for anything. If you can identify with those, then you know the product or service is probably of poor quality. I was a patient in high school, around 2004-2007. My Mom took me here because it was close to my house and it seemed legit at the time. My mouth was missing front adult teeth to replace my baby eye teeth and two of the adult teeth were displaced. So part of the braces treatment required front teeth movement. Instead of providing fake front teeth like most dentists I was left with missing front teeth my junior year of high school. It was extremely embarrassing and difficult for me, and the doctor and his indifferent staff showed me no grace. They charged for every broken bracket or replacement part. The porcelain brackets also kept breaking over and over and they blamed it on me. My mother took the side of the doctor because she figured he knew what he was doing. But after years of poor results and having to have another three to five years of treatment in law school and beyond, the quality and foresight is clearly lacking. read more

Dr. Dayani was my orthodontist for 5 years. I wore braces as an adult for 5 years (my case was long and complicated). That being said, Dr. Dayani made the process as smooth and painless as possible. I had tooth-colored braces so most people never even noticed I wore braces. Dr. Dayani is such a good orthodontist - you have no idea! He is the one who dentists go to if they need braces; a dentist's dentist. I have had a lot of dental work in my life and have seen many dentists and several other orthodontists. Based on my vast knowledge and experience, I can tell you he is the most professional and has done the best work of any orthodontist. If you live in the O.C. or L.A., you will not find a better orthodontist. He is such an accomplished dentist (publications and books), a professor who teaches others dentistry and orthodontia at the university. I have only positive things to say about Dr. Dayani, IGNORE THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I was his patient for 5+ years and I would recommend him to my family and friends. The negative reviews are from children and less knowledgeable people. One review is from a child who has to have orthodontia again (Invisalign). Anyone with any knowledge of dentistry or orthodontia must realize that the biology of one's maturing teeth is not the fault of the dentist and he is lucky to be a candidate for Invisalign, thanks to already having had braces with Dr. Dayani. A MAN OF INTEGRITY AND HONESTY: Dr. Dayani kept my braces on for an extra six months because my teeth needed to line up perfectly. After 4.5 years, my bottom teeth needed to move about 1.5 mm. Everything had already been paid for 2 years prior and he still wanted to work on my case to get perfect results. What a perfectionist! He could have removed my braces shortly after everything was paid for but he didn't until my teeth were perfect. What a professional! I have been going to Dr. Dayani since I was in 2nd grade, and now I am in my first year of college. He has always been a very kind man and super helpful. My family adores him, and it's like he's apart of the family. I got my braces in 6th grade and had them for 4 years. He wanted to give me the best results possible, and all of my friends were jealous of how nice my teeth looked after I got my braces off. You can tell that he cares for his patients. I have never once had a bad experience there. I've even had the bands on my braces changed by the college students, who were getting dentistry experience, that worked there and nothing ever went wrong. If they wanted to make sure something was done right, or if they were uncertain about something, then they would ask Dr. Dayani. There are some reviews that try to make him appear like he is only in this business for money, and they are wrong. As someone who has been going to him for majority of my life, I can say that I have never seen someone walk out of his office upset or unhappy with their results. He is a honest man who tries to help everyone out. He even lowered the prices of certain visits to help my family out because he knew that money was tight at times. You don't see that happen often in Irvine, and I am eternally thankful for him. There are some people who are complaining about the "cleanliness" of his tools. If he dropped something, he would throw it away and pull out a new one. I recently went back to get new retainers since I had lost my old ones, and the first thing he did when he saw me was hug me. That definitely sounds like a man who doesn't care about his patients at all (I'm being sarcastic if you can't tell). The man went to NYU and used to be a teacher at USC; he knows what he's doing. I couldn't be more thrilled with Dr Dayani and staff. He is an expert in Invisalign treatments and did an exceptional job on my teeth. With only 10 aligners my teeth went from seriously crowded to perfectly straight in 5 months. I would have never imagined getting such great results in such a short time. I'm rather disappointed that nobody else on here bothered to write Dr. Dayani a decent review. Dr. Dayani is one of the best orthodontists that I've come across, whom I feel really did care about every single one of his patients. He consistently had a friendly smile on his face during every appointment and really had a niche for giving his patients (mostly kids) a feeling of welcome with his Barney-the-Dinosaur like personality. During each appointment, he would always talk about his life and his experiences becoming an orthodontist and made me feel like I had a personal relationship with him. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that feels this way, too, I would come across his other patients during my appointments, which mostly consisted of local children who came in with their wealthy soccer moms, and they seemed to love Dr. Dayani as if he was freakin' Willie Wonka himself. So come on, really? None of you moms out there have 10 minutes to spare to write this guy a good review, whom consistently put a smile on your kid's faces? Dr. Dayani deserves way better than these other reviews (obviously staged) on this page. There was also an incidence towards the very end of my time with him where my braces were ready to be taken off, however, there was literally ONE tooth (one of my bottom front teeth) that still needed to move. It needed to rotate 1mm, a difference that would only be noticed if you look at my tooth with a microscope, and Dr. Dayani still refused to take my braces off until this tooth would move and his work with my teeth represented the best work that he was capable of. He could have easily just taken my braces off, collected my insurance money and sent me on my way, and I wouldn't even have noticed. So to the people on here saying that he is dishonest, money hungry, a crook...? Come on. Really? No, just no. read more

For 2 1/2 years now I have been going to Dr. Dayani and it has been amazing. You may think that having braces is horrible but really it is not that bad, especially with him. He makes it fun and always has something to say to cheer up my day. Dr. Dayani is a great orthodontist and I'm surprised that there are any negative reviews. My son started with an expander and then moved on to braces with Dr. Dayani. About one year into the process he developed some health issues that caused me to inquire about heavy metal toxicity. I brought this up to Dr. Dayani and he was very understanding and went out of his way to help us. I asked about the metal in braces and he told me that there is a small amount of nickel in braces but that the majority of patients have no problem. However, since I had concerns about it and my son was experiencing symptoms that I was worried about, Dr. Dayani offered to remove his braces at no charge AND he and his staff researched non-nickel braces which he ordered and just yesterday put on my son. Let me restate this: he did all of this for NO CHARGE except the cost of the new braces (which he also negotiated way down for me with the manufacturer). In my opinion this is almost unheard of these days. He easily could have told me that he will a) charge me for the removal of the old braces, b) hit me for the full cost for the new ones and c) charge me for the installation of the new braces...all of which would have been understandable. But, he didn't. Thank you Dr. Dayani for listening to your patients and for caring enough to help us when we really needed it. As a mother I am grateful that you didn't make me feel like a lunatic regarding nickel toxicity and you didn't charge me for the extra work that you had to do to help us.
