From the clean and beautiful office to the smiling faces at the front, their state of the art equipment and of course Dr. Purnomo and Dr. Yoon! First just from seeing their before and after photos I understood that there is something different about them. They're making the PERFECT smile. On my daughter's consultation day I've met Dr Yoon. He's very knowledgeable and honest. He was the only doctor that didn't pushed me to start treatment and didn't scared me like many other doctors (my daughter had a caged K9) Dr Yoon take his time to explained everything I needed to know and made sure I'm understanding the process and his treatment plan and approach. Once that day I've know I've found the right place. Once we started to treatment we got to know amazing Dr. Purnomo. She takes care of my daughter like it's her own family. She is SO talented. This review is long overdue, but I had a great experience with Dr. Purnomo and the team at Salt & Light Orthodontics. I started Invisalign in October 2024 and finished my last tray a couple of months ago. My dentist had been telling me to do it for years, but since she didn't specialize in orthodontics, I decided to comb through the many orthodontists in OC with great reviews. I ended up going with Salt & Light because it was close to me and their website felt welcoming and made it very easy to book an appointment. More importantly, they helped set up an affordable monthly payment plan using my HSA, which made the financial burden of Invisalign treatment infinitely more manageable. Plus, I read on the website that Dr. Purnomo went to UCI, so of course I had to support a fellow Anteater! Dr. Purnomo is incredibly kind, and the whole team is welcoming, professional, and very detail oriented. It honestly felt like everyone there was more excited and cared more about my results than I did! Dr. Purnomo also shared my scans with my dentist to align on my treatment plan. I started my Invisalign journey with Salt and Light Ortho in December 2024 after they were recommended by my dentist who also went there for Invisalign. Her teeth were perfect so I knew they would do a great job. From the consultation, they were very upfront and clear with the Invisalign process. I heard some other places don't even warn their patients that they might have attachments, IPR, or elastics. Dr. Purnomo told me immediately that I would require those things, and had models to show me what those things would look like so I could be prepared. As for the price, it varies depending on the case but to be honest the price is very reasonable for the amount of work my teeth needed. I would definitely pay it again if needed. Additionally, the time estimate she gave me for my Invisalign process was very accurate. Some places try to oversell how fast they can get you your perfect smile, but Dr. Purnomo prioritizes the health of your teeth so she will not rush your Invisalign timeline. As for the quality of care, I have nothing but good things to say. They always addressed my concerns and walked me through the process at every appointment. They have never been late for any of my appointments and I believe I had over 20 appointments with them. There were times where I thought my teeth were good enough but Dr. Purnomo only strives for perfection. Towards the end of my Invisalign journey, my teeth were becoming very stubborn but the team was always patient with me and never made me feel like a burden. I never felt rushed to end my treatment early or to accept anything less than perfect. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. If you are looking for a place that cares about you, your teeth, and your time then this is the place. I'm thankful to Dr. Yoon as my orthodontist! I grew up poor, so I couldn't afford to fix my teeth until I was in my 30s. I knew I wanted to get braces. I didn't trust myself to wear my retainers all day and night except for eating. I also didn't trust that I wouldn't lose the retainers. I heard from friends that orthodontists really push for you to get Invisalign as it's more profitable for them. I'm not sure if that's true, but there was none of that with Dr. Yoon. He listened to my needs, concerns, and took the time to explain everything to me. Wearing braces is not enjoyable, but he made the entire process very manageable. I appreciated his keen eye and dedication to excellence. I had to wear the braces for longer than expected but that wasn't an additional cost. Dr. Yoon could've easily said, "Good enough" and sent me on my way to save himself time (which is money), but he didn't because he cares about his work and the end product. I just finished my Invisalign treatment and loved my experience and the end result. Dr. Purnomo pays attention to the details. She recognized all the concerns I had wanted to fix even before I mentioned them, such as midline correction and other alignment issues. She's very clear on what can be fixed and warns about possible side effects of treatment such as black triangles which she mentioned would be somewhat corrected with IPR during treatment. I appreciate her being upfront about the expectations and also clear about the process for treatment. She is very educational and patient with any questions. I really appreciate Dr. Purnomo's communication, especially during the process of removing my Invisalign. At a different orthodontist (when I had braces), they filed down my teeth without asking if I had wanted it done. I have and will continue to recommend Dr. Yoon and Dr. Purnomo to my friends and acquaintances. First, they are honest about the treatment and does not fluff up the result. They are not pushy and listens to your concerns without judgement despite them knowing waaay more than you. Second, they are compassionate. When my neighbor parked behind my car causing me to be late to my appointment, the front desk was kind enough to squeeze me in. This was a fully booked day and I am pretty sure they sacrificed a bit of their lunch time for me. Third, I don't dread the office visits!
