Dr. Diep had been my dentist for several years now. From Walnut, I followed him to his new location in Irvine despite the long drive and traffic. Some of his staff are actually from his previous location which proves how professional and trustworthy he is that they're willing to follow him. Now, I moved to another state and I still go to him for any dental needs I have every time I go back to CA. I've been to several dentists when I was younger and I like Dr. Diep because he has very "light" hands. Other dentists can be rough especially I usually struggle keeping my mouth open during dental treatments. It's hard to find a doctor/dentist that's kind, professional and excellent in what he does. If I find the right doctor, I usually stay with that provider for a long time. Dr. Diep listens to my concerns and issues I have during my dental appts. His staff are also very nice, welcoming and professional. After the exam, potential treatments are explained then his staff will discuss the breakdown of payments. Nothing is forced and I can usually decide which treatment I want for that day. read more

I place dentists into three categories. An honest dentist will quote you and charge you $300 for a $300 procedure. An expensive dentist will quote you and charge you $500 for a $300 procedure but will do it in a luxurious office usually in a high rent location. A deceptive dentist will quote you $300 for a $300 procedure and will add charges during the procedure saying that they were unforeseen, or necessary but not covered by insurance. You end up paying $500. I place Michael Diep DDS in this last category. He quoted me $1,269.50 for one implant. As he worked on the implant, he added a panoramic x-ray and a surgical stent that were not mentioned in the original quote. After I thought, I had finished paying, I received a demand for payment of $239.50 because my insurance had rejected a part of the claim that Dr Diep had submitted to them. My original quote was $1,269.50. My total Payment = $ 1,951.00. I am looking for another dentist! read more

Choosing a dentist can be a very personal choice. Luckily, my friend recommended Dr. Diep to me. Knowing that I haven't been to the dentist since before the pandemic (about 3 years ago), I was self conscious about my teeth and the attention it might have needed. When I contacted Dr. Diep's office, his staff was able to accommodate my work schedule and slot me in. During my first visit, Staci was very nice and welcoming. She did such a great job with the cleaning that I never knew my teeth could be this clean! Dr. Diep came in for a final check up and said I needed to come back for some filling work as they've somewhat fallen apart during all this time. My second visit was for those exact fillings and let me say "Wow, that was fast and painless!" In fact, when Dr. Diep inserted the numbing injection, I could hardly feel it. I had to do a double take and ask him if it was done. The whole process itself was relatively quick and I was out of there in roughly 1.5 hours. My family and I have been coming here for a long time and they've taken care of all our dental needs. Dr Diep did my Invisilign and I had straight teeth within 4 months. I can't believe this doctor has five star reviews in here. Had some sensitivity on a molar and he wanted to do a crown right away. Almost lost a good tooth if I wouldn't got a second opinion with my regular doctor. Went there cause my doctor got expensive with the cleanings. It's a shame because I really loved their hygienist, she does such a great job and price was fair for the service. But when I went for second time to check my molar, something told me in my gut to get a second opinion. So I went back to my regular doctor and he fixed a little piece of the filling, took some X-rays and everything was fine. It was just natural sensitivity that can be managed with Sensodine. I guess, because this is a small practice, they really need money at any expense. And also gave me the impression that they want to sell you anything. Beware! read more

I just wanted to let you know about my recent visit to Irvine Dental Studio. They are by far the finest dental group I have ever gone to in my life. I spoke to them on the phone before making an appointment to see if they could help people who have fear of dental work and x-rays. The front desk staff are attentive, professional, and very friendly. (I contacted another local dentist, and the staff person promised to call me back with an answer to my questions. They never called back.) I have avoided the dentist many times over the years due to this problem. I chose them because they had five star reviews from pretty much every person who has ever left a review for them. I only believe reviews that are left on Yelp, as reviews on the vendors websites are always biased in favor of the company that is listing them. Yelp reviews seem to be very unbiased, so I trust them a lot. I am telling you that this business is so honest and professional it is refreshing! I have had some work done already, with more to go. They explain everything about the work to be done and the procedures for treatment. They are one of the few dental places I have ever visited that does not try to upsell you on services. Matter of fact, Dr. Diep told me I might need a crown on one tooth, but he would rather take a less expensive and less invasive approach by just expanding the filling. How many dentists do that? I'm afraid to say too many good things about them, as I think they will be overrun with new clients, and I may not be able to get in so easily! I saw them on February 12 for an exam, cleaning, and x-rays. They have a nice special for $125. I got quotes on prices for other work, and they were less than the competing dentists in the area. I don't have dental insurance, so I very much appreciate their pricing. I went in today for a filling and deep cleaning on one quadrant. Doctor Diep was very professional and did the filling in no time at all, with no pain. The hygienist Staci is a true gem! I am super scared of dentists. I have been going to Dr. Michael Diep since he was in his previous office in the city of Walnut. This is apparently his new office. All I have to say is...GO THERE! He is the best dentist I have ever had. My entire family goes to him. The kids love him and its convenient because we don't have to go to multiple dentists. Dr. Diep is so nice and genuine. He explains everything thoroughly and he and his staff always make you feel very comfortable. I came in yesterday to get my teeth cleaned and a crown done. I didn't feel the shot and he made the visit easy and pain free as possible. I do have to come back but I'm actually looking forward to it which says a lot since I'm a chicken. During a routine cleaning, the hygienist, Stacey, was a little concerned about a tooth. She had the autonomy to take a picture, literally a picture with a small narrow camera to look at my last bottom tooth. Sure enough, there was a crack in 2 places. They got me in really soon to do a crown. The crown was made right there with 3-D printer technology. No temporary, no coming back. They took pictures and measurements and told me that I could hang out in the room (I got work done on the computer), while the crown was being made. It was amazing.
