Their portions to me are dinner portions which serves you great for the price. (Hoping they don't read this and cut back) The steak is good but surely request well done if you like it cooked thoroughly because it does leave a bit of medium rare/well in middle of bigger pieces. The chicken flavor is amazing. The falafel was super tasty and fresh. The fries are to die for. The staff on 11/19 for lunch need an award. For a first timer, they presented the selections quite well. I even ordered again the next day. But they were not there. Ok I love Naf Naf. I have tried probably all of their locations and the quality and flavor just hit every single time. Their spicy hummus bowl is so beyond delicious. The falafel adds the perfect crunch and flavor, combine that with all the pickled goodies and veggies with tahini, the new moroccan sauce and harissa, omg. You have the perfect bowl with incredibly flavorful bites. My husband loves getting the chicken shawarma hummus bowl or plate. A coworker recommended Naf Naf to me for lunch so I decided to give it a try. I'm not a huge Mediterranean fan so it's not a cuisine that I always run for. Surprisingly a chain "fast food" lunch spot changed my mind. I came in after the lunch rush around 2pm and there was no line. I thoroughly reviewed the menu online before walking over so I knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered the platter with rice, steak ($1.25 upcharge), chopped salad, purple cabbage, hummus, pita of course, green sauce, and tahini, and I also ordered a falafel to try. The tahini was my least favorite out of everything, but my entire meal was delicious. Everything tasted fresh, flavorful and well seasoned, so I'll definitely be back and add this to my lunch rotation. I tried the Pick 2 Plate with falafel and the promotional Chicken Schnitzel. The schnitzel was fresh out the fryer and was a unique offering for a Mediterranean restaurant. It reminded me of a chicken katsu cutlet. The vibe is like a Mediterranean version of Chipotle. They have a modern interior with their story written on the wall. There's a sign in front with instructions on how to order. Basically you specify a protein and tell them the additional items you want. Or if you're not picky just tell them "everything" and they'll take care of it for you. The plate comes with Pita bread which tasted very fresh, super soft and perfect for dipping into the hummus (which is also included with the plate). There's lots of veggies: cucumbers, red cabbage, parsley. Would probably pass on the parsley salad next time though. There's plenty of indoor seating available and no line to order at 1pm on a Wednesday. At the end there's a sign with a list of sauces. First of all the staff here is really nice, as other reviewers have mentioned. I just get a fuzzy feeling in my heart like they are interested in my holistic falafel experience. I also get a fuzzy feeling in my brain as I dig into a Naf Naf bowl, like my stress centers are being short-circuited by tahini sauce. Food is good, no problem with the food. Every time I come here, the interactions / actions of the employees are always disappointing. It's as if there is absolutely no training what so ever. Today, I just watched as the guy who prepared my food with gloves on went and took out the trash dumpster with the same gloves on then came back in and filled the plastic utensils with the same gloves on and is now serving customers food with the same gloves he used to push the dumpster and take out the trash. On a good day, Naf Naf is amazinggg! The portions are pretty decent, the prices are on point, and the food taste even better. I usually get the chicken schwarma rice bowl (add 2 falafels) with ALL their veggie options, including lettuce, eggplant, tomatoes, etc., topped with the garlic sauce. It's probably not as "healthy" as people think but it taste so damn good. The pita bread they give you is warm, fresh, and fluffy. Pro tip: stuff falafels and rice into the pita bread. omg. On a bad day, when they are jam packed due to the lunch rush, your portions may end up being slightly smaller so you have to watch them make it carefully, your bread not that warm, and your special request (i.e. falafel goes M.I.A.) may not make it out the door for your to-go order. However, the bad times are rare! That's why I keep coming back. So, so good. I definitely recommend, if you haven't tried yet! read more

Very disappointed with the quality of food not fresh but stale. Feels like it been sitting in the warmer for too long. Ordered chicken shawarma bowl w/ rice and chicken was hard to bite into. Pita bread cold and Lentil soup cold. Food should be warmed with a microwave as I was going to eat now. Then host by the name of Jordan was very inpatient and getting upset as I made order like what sauce did you want? Garlic or green then rolled his eyes cause I said Garlic Cream and he heard wrong. I guess I got there almost at closing time. Not to mention he had a bleeding cut on his thumb but still serving food without gloves. And asked his coworker for a bandaid in front of me. Yuck! If you like to be in a city with more Mediterranean-Middle Eastern food than the actual Middle East, then Downtown Chicago is for you! Seriously, Naf Naf is probably my favorite local/regional falafel chain in Downtown Chicago. There are differences with each chain and their offers, as in Roti and I Love Falafel have lamb, but Naf Naf only specializes in Chicken, Steak, and Falafel. You can get your food in one of two ways, a pita sandwich, or in a bowl. Clearly when you enter it's like a Chipotle setup where you can customize your order among it's choices. This is Naf-Naf's biggest plus since you can get a half-salad and half-rice, or half-chicken and half-falafel which is still 3 pieces of Falafel. The fact you can do half-half without any additional costs is a major plus since other places can be more strict on that aspect. Meanwhile their topping offers include hummus, which can cost extra if you don't use hummus as the base of your bowl. The same thing for baba ganoush. Then it includes chopped salad, pickled cabbage, pickles, and onions with cilantro. Finally they offer 4 sauces including garlic, tahiti, regular hot sauce (green), and very spicy hot sauce. For some they may wish to have more options, but the amount they offer is a good balance since it keeps the line moving well. Finally they have deep fried chips, or soup as a side dish. Finally my go to bowl is a half salad-half rice bowl. I like the crunchiness of the romaine lettuce with their rice, and I recommend their rice. Then I usually get a full order of chicken and two falafels. I highly recommend you at least try one falafel since it's easily the crunchiest of the downtown chains, and in my view the best. Then add in some veggies, and get the garlic and green hot sauce. It's a good balance of zesty and spiciness, but the benefit of Naf Naf is you can customize it in many ways to your liking. Naf naf is always a delicious experience. This new location is a clean, fresh new look, very inviting. As always, my interactions with naf naf staff were positive and enjoyful. My chicken Shwarma pita was up above par with flavorful garlic sauce, fresh chicken Shwarma, and the fluffier pita in all of the loop (can't confidentially say all of Chicago because I haven't tried them all). My only suggestion for new staff is to try to spend a few more seconds on getting the sauce inside of the pita to make for easy eating. I am here from out of town for a few days and stopped in this place for lunch. The service was incredibly friendly and the food is terrific. You order your food by choosing first, whether you want a pita sandwich or a bowl, then any rice, hummus or baba ganoush, what kind of meat or falafel, then toppings. I had a bowl with hummus, salad, chicken shawarma and all the toppings, plus I added a couple of falafels as well. It was all fantastic, so fresh and perfectly spiced. It came with a nice warm soft pita bread that I couldn't resist. It was kind of crowded at lunch time but the line moved very quickly and their is plenty of seating. I would definitely go here often if I lived here. They need to come open a few of these in Orlando, it would be a welcome addition to our food choices. read more

I'm so happy Naf Naf opened down the street from me and actually have the romaine lettuce bowl on the menu. I once went to a Naf Naf in the suburbs and they didn't have the lettuce bowl :(. My go to order is chicken shawarma in a lettuce bowl, all the veggies minus pickles, tahini and the green sauce. This meal is full of fresh veggies and chicken and packs a little punch. The baba ganoush ruined the meal, tastes really salty. Also the employee was really rude. She seemed angry to see me and skimped me out on the veggies and just kinda threw everything on there like she was throwing it in the trash or something paid no attention to the portions. Hope it was just a bad day for her it worried me to see someone so angry at someone for no reason all I did was say hello with a smile and made my order. The food is good, but what really makes the difference is that this place has the NICEST STAFF EVER. They are just so pleasant every time I go there. :) I go here 1-2 times a month for dinner and always ask for steak which they cook fresh for me (probably because of the time I arrive). The portion is more than I can eat for 1 meal, so I always have a bit of leftovers. The pita is always soft and warm, and is even good the following day. The dining area is always clean.
