After coming back to the hotel after my first day at a conference on Monday, I was looking for dinner options on UberEats. It was cold outside, around 8, so I decided not to go walk to a restaurant. Looking at options on UberEats, I saw Naf Naf Grill. The food looked delicious looking at some of the pictures on Yelp and decided to order from Naf Naf Grill. Naf Naf Grill specializes in middle eastern food. The restaurant has a variety of options such as rice bowls, salad bowls, stuffed pitas, kids meals, plate meals and so much more! I ended up picking [2] build your own plates, and a medium size of hummus For my build your own plate, I ended up selecting the following options Basmati Rice Crispy Chicken Grilled Steak Hummus Chopped Salad (Tomato & Cucumber) Romaine Lettuce No Sauces Side of Pita Ordering from UberEats, the order took about 45 minutes to prepare and be delivered to the hotel. The food was still warm though! When I opened up the plates, I noticed there was a lot of food! There was so much rice and side salad! The steak and the hummus was the best part of the meal. The steak was tender and packed with flavor! I ended up dipping the steak in the hummus! The Crispy Chicken was overcooked. It was really difficult to eat. The Rice was super dry. There were pieces I couldn't eat because it was just too hard. The chopped salad was good though. The Pita was just okay. It wasn't hot and it was hard to bite into. I'm glad I had a chance to try out Naf Naf Grill while visiting Chicago, but I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon. read more

The only real problem I had was they served me cold fries. If I had to wait for you to cook me chicken, you might as well have given me fresh fries. Mets are tasty. Toppings are fresh. They were really polite and quick at this location, although I'm used to the Naf Nafs that will make falafel and fries fresh if needed or things have been sitting out for a bit, but I know it's been a few years since I've been to a naf naf. The chicken Shawarma was AMAZING and the couscous salad was really good too. They seem to have changed their fries since I've been back. Their fries used to be amazing now they are more potato wedges. Still tasty but their old fries were the best. Overall it was a really nice visit. I'm a sucker for a good chicken shawarma dish and especially when they have garlic sauce as an option! We got it as delivery while we were on vacation so we cannot speak on the venue itself but it was a good Mediterranean dinner to say the least. Sadly I think I'm done with Naf Naf for a while, or maybe I'll try another location. I have a group of friends I get together with once a week and we rotate buying dinner. I always brought Naf Naf bc it was always a huge hit. The last couple times it wasn't great. It was dried out and the falafels were overcooked. I assumed it was because it was a larger online order but I went back by myself twice and experienced the same thing. The last time I was still trying to give the benefit of the doubt, thinking it was maybe because I was ordering online and picking up. Nope. Terrible experience going in person. The food was still dry. Not super hot... I understand it's a combo of cold and hot foods so it will be more warn than anything else. Five minutes after leaving in 90 degree heat it was pretty cold except for the steak which had just been cooked. The thing that has me never returning was the attitude of the girl serving me. The guy in front of me ordered steak and so I said, "that looks really good, I'd like steak but do you know if it's gluten free?" She stared at me until I was uncomfortable and finally said, "I don't know, look at our allergen guide". I asked where it was and she pointed to a very small chart on the wall clearly meant for the employees as it was on the other side of the barrier and facing a bit towards them. I said, "I'm sorry, I can't read that, is there another one I can look at or can you look at it for me?". She sighed and looked at it and says, "it contains soy". I thanked her and said that was fine, I'd like steak. So she lets the person cooking it know and then pushes my plate down the line to get the cold stuff put on. I didn't even want to fight with her given her attitude but now I've got lukewarm undercooked or dried out rice and way overcooked falafel, cold veggies, and a layer of hot steak. Yum (not). On top of that my meal was $28. I didn't enjoy it at all. The rice was crunchy. It was just weird. I really want to give this place 5 stars because I love the concept, the staff are very friendly, and it's just so damn convenient. However today our bowls were so salty they were inedible. This may have been a one-off situation so I would encourage you to try it for yourself. The bread is SO good and will make you want to break up with your sad keto diet. Been here several times for falafel bowl and sandwich. And we never forget to order the fries - the only fries we really like are the ones from Naf Naf Grill. The falafels are crispy and crunchy so I would highly recommend. The place is maintained well, staff is good and plenty of parking spaces available at all times of the day. read more

Not sure what happened to the once superb Naf Naf grill. I used to love this place when I used to work in downtown Chicago. Currently, they don't seem to have any clue what they are doing. The pita did not seem fresh, and the meat seemed to be the only saving grace. The Falafel was a joke that would make any traditional Mediterranean person faint. read more

Got a build your own bowl for pick up with half rice and half baba ghanoush with additional sauces and naf naf fries. I like that the fries are thicker cut and not like undercooked potato chips. Pita, sauces, and food where fresh and well presented. Portion size itself was very small for a $13+ entree without meat. read more

Second horrible experience at this location. At 1:30 pm there was no shawarma chicken which is what I usually get. I was offered a fried/breaded piece of chicken or steak. I opted for the steak which was awful, rubbery and old. No falafel cooked. I asked for tahini sauce on the side, was told "he didn't think they had any" when someone stepped in and said they did have it. Pita was raw in the middle. Can you imagine going here for lunch and having an experience like this? What are these people thinking? Find another location, this one is pitiful!! read more

First time at a Naf Naf Grill. Very good pita bread w/chicken Shawarma, red cabbage, yellow rice. Nice blend of flavors & textures. The pita bread is very fresh (still warm & soft) mixed with hummus, hot sauce & the crunch of the red cabbage & garlic sauce. Nice clean modern interior, very friendly server. The hot sauce & garlic sauces are delicious. I was also given a couple pieces of falafel. They were excellent, still hot & soft on the inside and nice and crunchy on the outside delicious. I have been a fan of Naf Naf since they opened theyre doors in an old Taco Bell years ago in Naperville. The place was fabulous! the food the flavors the service. All were top notch. Since it went corporate it has dropped in all categories. Service is poor and undermanned. Food is still good overall from a flavor profile but the portions are so skimpy they should shrink the size of the bowl just to make it seem like it's worth what they charge. There's no shortage of falafel/shawarma places in the area, and while this is no Pita Pita you really can't go wrong for a quick bite. I think their pitas are actually stuffed a little heavier than most other local spots (shawarma at least) so you get your money's worth. read more

I have been here a couple times now and both times have left disappointed. They are chronically understaffed and it shows. I am not sure if the management is working one of the stations, but there is clearly lack of organization holding the operation together. Online ordering is a joke. This is only the second Naf Naf that I have been to, but the other one I most frequent is by work in Naperville. This branch is a new concept that differs compared to the original, in that it's like Chipotle, where you get to pick and choose assembly style. This actually works better if you are a picky eater and also exposes more of the ingredients that go into your meal. It's able to show actually how much variety that Naf Naf offers. At the other location, you just place your order and wait. and wait. and wait. I have to say in this regard this concept is significantly better as you only wait until your meal is complete. Some notes: - They don't offer the beef tenderloin here from the other location - Instead they were advertising lamb+beef kifta - They serve rice, hummus, or couscous bowls, ala Chipotle style In light of this, I tried a kifta rice bowl. Toppings included salad, cabbage, onions and the various hot/fire/tahini/garlic sauces. I thought this combination was rather tasty and flavorful. The mix absorbed the flavors well and the rice vehicle was a good transport for the meat and vegetables. I have had kifta at a few other middle eastern restaurants, and only one has been outstanding. This was almost as good, but it was definitely tender and broke apart easily. As always a freshly made pita bread was provided and was of high quality. Overall, I would come back again. Would like to see the beef tenderloin make an re-appearance, because I know my wife loves that and missed it here. I think the concept works and makes Naf Naf more approachable. read more

Guilt free fast food dining. Thoroughly enjoyed my first experience with Naf Naf! The chicken shawarma pitas are delicious, stuffed with all the variants and flavors you desire. There are lots of combinations of sauce and fillers: sort of a roulette for a first experience, but I was really satisfied. Really enjoyed the falafel bowl, definitely recommend ordering an extra pita for scooping insurance. Only minor gripe with the baklava is that they're too small, but that's because they are delicious and I am a greedy sweet tooth. Overall a relatively healthy fast food option packed with flavor and variety, a great Mediterranean escape for the tastebuds. PS. I got the chicken bowl with rice, lettuce, and onions and the flavour was amazing. The spices were not overbearing at all and the pita bread that comes with it was very good as well. Great first experience! Falafel pita sandwiches seem like such an easy thing to get right, yet it's very difficult for most Mediterranean restaurants in America. Naf Naf's reputation precedes them so I had high expectations for this joint. It did not disappoint! Service: The girl that assembled my sandwich was so sweet! She patiently helped me through the assembly of my Pita sandwich as it was our first time there. Cleanliness: If you've been to Moe's or Chipotle, you can understand how important this factor is for a place that assembles your food in front of you. With cross contamination and meats falling into the vegetarian toppings, it can be a real mess. Therefore, I was happy to see how clean they managed to keep the assembly station and the toppings were arranged in a manner where it made it very unlikely for the meat to contaminate the vegetarian offerings. Food: We got the falafel sandwich and it was delicious! Not the best I've had, however it was so much better than the mediocre "authentic" claiming places. We also tried the fries which were a nice addition to the meal. We topped our meal off with a pistachio and walnut baklava. This was off for me because usually they are two separate baklavas and not combined in one. The baklava was not the best. I would not get it again.
