Ordered from here through Uber eats. It was my first try and the pics looked amazing. Ordered house rice (requested extra egg), and two sushi rolls. It arrived timely and rice was still hot on the bottom layer. However, the rolls were subpar at best and the rice was not tasty. It had NO egg, or any other vegetables in it. I couldn't believe it. Me and my boyfriend got takeout from this place twice; first time we had no complaints. Second time; they forgot our crab sticks and tried calling us back but by the time we got home we noticed the call. She claimed she ran after my boyfriend to try to give it to him but I don't really believe it. $50 for two entrees and rice separately charged for small portions. Teriyaki chicken and fried rice is tasty and I always get it but this time I woke up at 3am with diarrhea and vomiting afterwards.. pretty sure it's food poisoning. Pros: We are new to Stone Mountain and was looking for a hibachi place that was similar to what we had before we moved. Nagano definitely is that. It's an older building and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of a newer flashier restaurant, however the food was phenomenal. Cons: I do wish the rice portion would have been a little bit bigger. The service was ok, and the cooks do not put on a "show", they literally just cook. We will definitely be back. read more

Called order in ... When I arrived my order was waiting (or so I thought). I paid for order and left. When I got home it was different from what I ordered. My fault for not checking order at restaurant. I called and they wanted me to bring order back in for exchange. I declined ..(20 minute drive plus 5:30 PM traffic). The place is located in a pretty empty area and is quite outdated but the staff was super sweet. I've only tried the sushi and I've honestly have had better but it was not bad either, I liked it, we even got ice cream at the end :-). The rest of the food must be pretty good as well since they had a steady flow of customers. A friend comes often and says the food is always on point. read more

The price is steep. For a habachi plate its around $20+ plus tax for one (they do it in front of you and the chef does these juggling, throwing spatula and putting flame in the cooking area/on the onions). The food is good (seasoned right), and pretty large portion. It includes broccoli, mushroom, sirloin/figlet mignon/chicken/shrimps or combo of 2. It also has a soup and a small salad. It ends with a sorbet. Sushi is good, price is ok. They have small dishes like baked mussels for $4 and its only like 2 pieces. Nice cozy place, separate areas for sushi and hibachi. Staff is nice. For a restaurant that is only open during dinner hours I think that Nagano is a very good Japanese hibachi place. With hibachi everyone can expect to have a great show to watch as their food is being cooked in front of them. The infamous flaming onion tower and many other chef tricks are all very entertaining, but I was mainly interested in the food and not the show. Even though the decor did seem a little outdated I was willing to look past it and judge the food. I ordered a hibachi entree of steak and it came with so much food such as a soup, salad, and even dessert. When my entree came out, the steak was quite juicy and not dry. The fried rice that came with it was also not drenched in oil and was very tasty with a great combination of eggs and vegetables. Overall, Nagano's food may look a little on the overbooked side but it's taste definitely exceeds its looks. read more

I like the sushi, too.. but usually come for the Hibachi. I've also never had bad service here. It seems like many places are using cheaper ingredients to cut cost, which ruins the quality. Took my dad here cause he want to eat at a Japanese restaurant for the "experience". Unfortunately that experience was really mediocre and we just end up paying for a meal with no excitement/entertainment whatsoever. The usual hibachi experience would start off with some eggs thrown up in the air and somehow the chef break it open. Then some sort of cho cho train with fire and then the catch the food with ur mouth fun. Something along those stuff that I mention above. But the chef we got tonight said two words to me and my dad throughout the whole dinner. I ordered the scallops and chicken while my dad had the steak and chicken. My scallops was huge but even after cooked the scallop was mushy. I think it's probably old scallops. My dad's steak was over cooked even though we wanted it medium. Both of our chicken was too sweet. Overall I wouldn't come back here. There are better hibachi in Atlanta. read more

I've been here a handful of times, and I've never been disappointed. It sometimes seems a bit empty, but that's never been a deterrent for me. It just means that there are fewer people to annoy when the party gets started! The food has always been delicious and the service spectacular. The showmanship of the hibachi chefs are standard -- but I'm not a huge fan of hibachi anyway. I've always been pleased with my meal, and have always walked out feeling akin to a stuffed sausage link! I've had the sushi here, and that was very good as well. It's a great place to bring the family or a loud group of friends. I really like the private rooms it has for each hibachi grill/table. We love this restaurant and feel so lucky to have a Japanese steakhouse of this caliber here in Stone Mountain. Their food is really good and so reasonably priced. Service is always excellent. It's a family operation you can tell by the way the employees interact and work together. We've been going there years, since my 16 year old son was in a baby carrier. I have written several reviews of this wonderful place we frequent several times a month and they keep getting filtered--like I'm somehow trying to manipulate the system and give credit with some kind of ulterior motive. Nagano Japanese Steak House is one of the best Japanese restaurants ever. Their sushi is great and the Hibachi is wonderful as well. The combo meals and Chef Specials are cheap in comparison with other Japanese Restaurants. Try the Emperor Dinner. It is like 31 or 32 dollars but it has fillet mignon, scallops, shrimp, and lobster. Did I mention it's delicious? Dinner comes with soup, salad and ice cream or sherbet . Everything there is good. I have yet to order something I didn't like. I have dined here several times and have gotten great food every time. The restaurant itself itsn't that impressive and the hibachi chefs don't have the best showmanship, but food is the most important thing, and I love it. I always order the filet mignon and scallops combo. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, which is better than Bennie Hanna's. My one complaint about the food is that they don't spin the salad after it is washed, so the dressing just slides off it. But I would recommend Nagano to anyone. read more

We went as family of 6 Friday evening. How disappointing!! Two senior adults, two adults, two grands 12 and 7. Long wait at table before cooking ever started. This was definitely NOT a show! He methodically cooked and quietly served our meal! Our son and wife placed sushi order and split a full dinner. $6 added charge for splitting a dinner! Grandkids split an adult dinner rather than ordering child plates. Again, $6 added charge! Ordered 4 beverages and a beer. Senior adults drank water! They decided on their own tip and applied it before bringing check! $132 for a family of 6 with very bland and disappointing meal!!! FIRST AND LAST TIME!
