As one of the only restaurants on property, this place has to hold a heavy burden. That burden is well carried here! The onion rings are spectacular, and when I asked "How is the coleslaw?" Grace responded, "Honey, there ain't nothing to that stuff, get the onion rings." She was right! Those Onion rings were TOP NOTCH! I personally had the Commons Double-Stack Turkey, (great, the meat was delicious and the bacon cooked perfectly, with texas-toast and fresh lettuce and tomatoes.) and I had the salmon BLT, the fish was delicious and paired well with the Garlic Aioli. The setting is beautiful and overlooking the lake at Stone Mountain cannot be beat! The staff is kind and the service is impeccible. I'm just sad that this park is falling into obscurity, more people used to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding area, and now it seems like most of the traffic is just for golf.

Located inside Stone Mountain near the golf course, you need a $20 day pass or $40 annual pass to eat here. We have the annual pass so it was worth it! A great place to stop after hiking up the mountain. The food was very good, the fries being the best fries I have had in my life. I was told that the chef dubbed the "flavor god" made it. Overall, the pricing was appropriate as well. The music playing in the background were classics and the restaurant was very clean. Most notably, our waitress was the BEST! She was the highlight of the visit. Tangela was so attentive during the entire time and made us really feel at home! She had a positive attitude and made sure to give us the best visit possible. Highly recommend because of her!

Everyone was so nice here at the Commons Restaurant. The gentleman who seated us was very friendly. Gloria was our server. She took amazing care of us!! She was so kind and personable. I found out we are both from California originally. It's always nice meeting someone from your home state. We ordered the small salads and a side of fries. The salads were very big for a small salad , great portion size.

I made a reservation two months prior and I was not accommodated per my reservation requests at all. We reserved for 5 PM and we're not seated until roughly 5:45 PM. The waitresses Gloria and Alva were sweet as can be but they were slow. We had a party of 23, which I know is big but again, they had two months to prepare. The steak was dry, the veggies were undercooked and under seasoned. The salmon was dry and the mashed potatoes that came with my meal did not come until roughly 30 minutes after. The drinks were watered down and overall it wasn't the best experience for it to be a first time.

So happy we treated ourselves to a superb dinner. Both of us had the prime rib 10 oz. I had the grits. They were flavorful and great texture. The asparagus was large stems but they were cooked perfectly. My friend had Mac n cheese which said were good. The fingerling potatoes were well seasoned. They have a carmelized onion jam that is absolutely wonderful. The service was excellent. There were only a few dinners present when we dined.

We went last night for the Valentine's Dinner! We had a wonderful time. DeMarco was the kindest waiter, we sat by the fireplace and enjoyed our meal. The scallop appetizer was decadent. The Caesar salad was delicious. I had the steak and my husband the salmon. Our Valentine's desserts were both perfect! Can't wait to return for the Easter Buffet.

My guest ordered some cwing dinner that looked like a contraption. As far as the presentation was delivered. I wanted to also make sure management was there. An older caucasian woman greets me well we have a cordial conversation about my previous experience and my embarrassment at such a nice looking restaurant She was unable to believe this happened at her restaurant. Just plain disbelief and raved about the kitchen and pride that goes into her food to later having to eat those words Again, limited menu what is up with the 4-5 items to chose from. I donot eat steak fries So I just ordered the burger - medium well - not burned and it had no venison mixed or blended meat added The burger came out with old brown tarnished lettuce I sent it back for fresh lettuce . She brought it back they added thousand island dressing when I specially asked for mayo on the side which was also provided. What is going on in the kitchen I took a bittersweet bite anyways and spat it out. Took my utensils which looks like a switch blade in a fairly nice restaurant. bad esthetics decisions I knifed out The center of the uncooked raw meat of the burger and waited patiently for the nice lady to find her way back over to me I offered to just pay and leave. She ask what was the problem . Looks a little sketchy from outside and surrounding area, but don't worry it's a good place! Discovered this place via yelp, searching for a dinner location anout halfway between Decatur and Lawrenceville, as we were meeting friends and neither of us wanted to travel too far. Seeking economical choice with good food & drinks. Mission accomplished here! Wasn't our first choice. Dining on a Monday is hard, as so many restaurants are closed. But it turned out to be an excellent choice, as we loved our apps, drinks and meals. Had a nice size table with plenty of room in the quieter dining area in the back, away from the bar and TVs. There are TVs in back area as well, just not as many. Started with the nachos with beef chili, and the blackened brussel sprouts. Both were delicious and gone quickly! I had the cheeseburger salad. After all this deep fried, heavy southern food and grits, wanted something a little lighter. The portion was huge, and it was delicious. Onion rings were delicious. Huge plate for a side dish. Others had various wraps, and everyone loved their meals. Good tap beer selection. We had a variety of cold ones. If you're in the area looking for a good local, affordable place to have a meal or drinks, pick this spot. Its family friendly as well.

I stopped into Big Rock Cafe to see what kind of goodies they had. Pretty generic menu. Burgers, chicken sammys, fries and shakes. I see that they had a smash burger combo meal. It sounded pretty legit so I went ahead and ordered it. It does come with fries but not a drink. There was an order ahead of mine. It took forever for their order to be prepared and even longer for mine. I'm assuming that they prepare orders individually which can cause such a long wait time for your customers. I can't imagine if we came on a super busy day with a ton of tourists and they work on orders individually. The wait time would be insane. My burger and fries came out hot. I appreciate the amount of fries they serve you. Biting into my burger, you can taste the grilled onions, pickles and special sauce. The sauce had a heat element to it. I didn't really care for it. My patty was really dry and hard. I don't know where the smashed element came into play but as many smashed burgers I have had, today's burger was nothing like the ones I have had before. It reminded me of an overcooked burger patty you get at a bbq. I ate as much as I could which was less than half before I threw in the towel. It was an awful burger. The dining area could use a little tending to. The floors are dirty and sticky. You can feel your shoes sticking to the floor. It's so gross as a consumer to eat in such a dirty area.
