Nagle's has outstanding ice cream. On nice days the line can stretch around the block.

Nagle's Apothecary Café is a wonderful place to eat in Victorian heart of Ocean Grove NJ. This historic apothecary/pharmacy has been beautifully converted into a café and ice-cream parlor. Located only 2 blocks from the ocean. Classic American sandwiches, cheesesteaks and delicious burgers are available, along with delectable soups. Breakfast is also a special treat. The omelets are light, airy and fluffy and my daughter loves the pork roll, egg and cheese on a hard roll. The dining room tables are adorned with century old newspaper clippings and photos of Jersey Shore towns in the 1900's. Decorations include antique apothecary Items, vintage medicine bottles and labels that came from the building's previous life as a pharmacy. My kids love to sit up on the stools at the original counter, once used as a soda fountain. Always save room for dessert, because Nagel's makes their very own ice cream in a variety of delicious flavors. It is so good that the summer "ice cream window" line often stretches down the block. Summer can bring crowds, but patrons have the option to leave their cell phone number for a call when their table is ready. Nagle's is a terrific place, with great history and great food - an outstanding gem at the Jersey Shore!

7-8 slices of ham on the "Overstuffed" Deli Sandwich. Not sure $0.75 was worth it for a few slices of tomato.

Nagle's is a nice stop in Ocean Grove. Nice selection of sandwiches. The honey ham is really, really good. Extensive list of ice cream offerings. Pricing is a tad expensive. The service is friendly & attentive. To be completely honest, the overstuffed deli sandwich left me sad that Nagle's and I have different definitions of "overstuffed". The overstuffed deli sandwich is $6.95... and another $0.75 for tomato. I'll attach a picture. Today was our second visit ever and it wasn't as awesome as our first visit a few years ago.

An Interesting place to say the least. A step into the past. From the minute you are greeted at the door the host directs you to your table.. . This place was once a pharmacy est. 1901. From the decor to the seating. This place is quite cozy and full of charm. American fare in the dining room and a ice-cream parlor to the left of the building, with a line that wraps around the corner. Definitely one of the coolest places I have had the pleasure of eating at.

Ordered a turkey burger with swiss cheese and french fries. my friends both ordered hamburgers. the best part about the meal was that the sandwiches/fries were very hot and freshly prepared. The portions are American style (big). We put our name in on a Saturday afternoon, and waited 30 minutes. took a football to the beach, then the host called our cell phone and waited for our return. it was a casual and seamless experience. Would love to try the ice cream/shakes sometime. Love the marquee sign out front. (see photos) tables are spacious, and seating is comfortable.

!!!MUST VISIT!!! Such a wonderful blend of historic preservation, nostalgia, variety, and really really good food!!! The cafe used to be an old Apothecary...apparently it's beein in their family for a long time. All original tile and glass cases with interesting turn of the century items. Awesome omelettes and sandwiches; everything done right and GREAT prices too. Best ice cream around town makes for a nice stroll through historic Ocean Grove.

    World's best turkey club.
    Dave S.

This place has decent ice cream but the real reason to come here is for the Turkey Club. Actually, the entire menu is good but the Turkey Club is the best I've ever had. I even capitalized it to show its importance. The proper drink to wash down the world's best turkey club? Cherry Lime Rickey. Ambiance has been explained already but in case you only read my awesome reviews, it's a restored pharmacy that's been converted into a restaurant. The decor is mostly antiques and ephemera from the building's past which I appreciate. The tables have old newspaper classifieds which keeps me entertained while I'm waiting for my Turkey Club. --update-- Stopped in on sunday around 11am and was told i couldn't get the turkey club because they only serve brunch until noon. I can get the brunch club though. I get it. This place is packed in the summer and its probably a pain to have the full menu but in december when the cooks are standing around looking at each other, you can put turkey on toast for me. This is a three star place without the club so I'm updating my rating.

The restaurant was located in a multi-floor home on Wesley Lake, just around the corner from the hustle and bustle of Cookman Avenue. The first floor was more of a bar and lounge, and they had a live jazz band on the evening we visited. We checked in with the hostess and were escorted up to the second floor dining room, which was a charming spot that was breezy and comfortable, yet refined. The floor also had its own bar. Our server was on top of things, but was also clearly newer to the place. Regardless, once we got settled, she took our drink orders, which had taken us some time to decide on since the menu was creative and vast. I went with A Sidecar Named Desire, which included Courvoisier VSOP, Cointreau, Chinola passionfruit liqueur, and fresh lemon juice. I adore passion fruit and had always liked sidecars as well, so I figured it was worth a try, and I loved it! It had a good balance of tart sweetness and smokiness. My friend similarly enjoyed her spicy margarita, and we both imbibed while picking on some bread and herb butter. For our meal, we decided to start by sharing the Greek Salad, which was a massive bowl of romaine topped with tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, red onions, and Kalamata olives. We left off the feta cheese, but enjoyed the seasoned dressing made of red wine vinegar, honey, salt, oregano, and olive oil. It was a fresh and flavorful mix of vegetables that was a pleasure to eat. The entree options were endless and offered something for everyone. I wound up going with the Chilean Sea Bass, which was served over sweet onions and potatoes in a tomato herb reduction. The fish was tender and perfectly cooked. It was a light and tasty dish that seemed perfect for the Spring season. After our meals we were a bit too full for dessert, but we decided to get a second round of drinks, mainly because I was dying to try their Pistachio Espresso-Tini. Wow, was that drink delicious! It blended Ketel One Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liqueur, natural pistachio flavor, and fresh espresso. The coffee notes were not super prevalent, but the creaminess, nuttiness was the real highlight. It was a decadent way to end a delicious meal. After we settled the bill and headed downstairs, I noticed several bowls of after-dinner mints, which were a nice touch. From the relaxed atmosphere to the interesting and expansive menu, Moonstruck was a terrific option for our Asbury dinner experience.

My short rib ragu was actually delicious. Unfortunately, my wife saved me half her chicken dish and the piece I ate turned out to still be raw. I stopped eating once I noticed, but the damage was already done. Also, quick PSA on the dirty martini: it's shaken with blue cheese and comes out looking more like blue cheese dressing than a martini. Definitely not for everyone, so just know what you're signing up for.

The burgers are great, and the last time I tried their cheesesteak which normally comes with cherry peppers and red onion. I asked for it plain, and it was super delicious. Portion sizes are solid, and prices are reasonable considering the area. We actually ended up here because Pasta Volo -- one of my favorite spots in Asbury Park -- was closed that day. The Speakeatery made for a great backup. You order at the counter, and the service is decent. The space is long and narrow with some stool seating up front and more table and chair seating towards the back. The grill and kitchen are situated in the middle of the restaurant. The place only has indoor seating, which fits the speakeasy vibe nicely. Overall, I'd recommend The Speakeatery for breakfast or lunch when you're visiting Asbury Park for the day.
