Blue Velvet on a Plain Bagel
    Samantha C.

10/10 awesome bagels and a nice variety of delicious bagel sandwiches! Loved the Blue Velvet and the Veggie Nagle. Super cute spot - perfect for anyone strolling around the area and looking for somewhere with a good vibe to sit down and have a bagel or take to go. Definitely worth it! Great service - a small staff that are very friendly and make good sandwich recommendations.

I visit here regularly because it is basically the only bagel place near by, and I'm always craving a bagel. The inside is super cute and homey, a little small but has plenty of tables and chairs to sit and eat if you're not taking it to go! The bagels are not bad, just super inconsistent, here below are two different bagels, both bacon egg and cheese. One of them has a good amount of bacon with very very very little egg. The other bagel, has an OKAY amount of egg, definitely not measured out, and just about one slice of bacon. Both have basically no cheese. For paying 9.00 for a bec, it would be nice for it to be consistent and appropriate amount of items on the bagel. The bagels have great potential but definitely need some work on proportions and love! It's been like this for a few months now so I really hope one day it changes :)

The stalest, driest bagel I've ever had in my life. Ever ever. Bodega & grocery store bagels wouldn't even dare!

I held off on reviewing Nagle's after my first time visiting last year. I waited nearly half an hour for a small, stale bagel with a smear. I said I'd give them another try (people have off days ya know), so I did recently. I placed an order for pickup. Lox on an egg bagel with tofu cream cheese. The app said my order would be ready in 15, I gave it 20. Arrived and waited another 10-15. There were others waiting too who were all frustrated. One family was there with their hungry kids, and they were still waiting when I left. To quote one of the babies who was screaming about his bagel when I walked out: "I hate them!" I honestly wasn't too bothered by the wait, myself. They had just two people working, it was a Saturday morning, things happen. But I do think after some years of being in business, they should consider a different approach to not only avoid disgruntled customers, but to also help their team members not be so stressed. Moving on to the bagel. Oof! This was the driest bagel that I've ever had in my life. That's not an exaggeration. I sent the attached picture to a friend without saying anything and their response was "the bagel looks dry." There was plenty of smoked salmon, maybe 4 capers, a tiny slice of tomato, and few massive chunks of red onion, and not nearly enough cream cheese. I couldn't even finish it. Also, there were a lot of flies inside. I know flies are impossible to fully control, especially with a door open, but there were one too many for my liking.

This spot has a lot of negative reviews on here, so maybe I'm one of the lucky ones. We thought it was great for grabbing a quick breakfast bite. It's a small joint, so the service was a walk up counter. Cute exterior. I got the Nagel's sunrise on a jalapeño cheddar bagel with the chili sauce and it was yummy.

Cute place and convenient walk from me. I always bring friends here when they come visit for a quick grab and go breakfast before we start our day. I like that they have an option for a hummus bagel because I'm not a fan of cream cheese

Toasted Everything bagel with lox. Chive or scallion cream cheese, I can't remember.

Such a cute place with excellent service. The employees were helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the flavors of the menu. Delicious bagel. As a bagel lover, I will certainly be back for more and I highly recommend.

    Nagles Sunrise
    Sarah W.

I ordered the Nagles Sunrise and it by default comes on a poppyseed bagel. It was delicious but the reason I'm giving 4 out of 5 stars is because I ordered it with avocado and they didn't give me any. But they didn't charge me for it either so that's good at least.

5/5 food, 4/5 service (bagel took awhile), 5/5 ambiance! ordered a toasted everything bagel with cream cheese & a toasted BEC

    Bagel with jelly and butter

they charge $1 for Jelly and this is how much they put. Very disappointed won't be ordering from here again.

The restaurant itself has a modern, chic décor with a lively but moderate noise level. It strikes a great balance between energetic and intimate, making it an excellent spot for a romantic date night if that's what you're looking for. Our server, Sam, absolutely made the experience. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions with confidence, and did an amazing job matching our preferences with the perfect food and drink recommendations. Her service was exceptional from beginning to end. We started with the pita and hummus, and you could immediately tell everything was made from scratch. The pita was warm and fresh, the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful, and you could truly see and taste the quality. For dinner, we had the burger with the house chips. Both were excellent, and I especially loved the herb mayonnaise that came with the chips. I didn't even realize it was mayonnaise at first because it was so fresh and flavorful! We also shared the Caesar salad, which was delicious. The next morning, we came back for breakfast and ordered the Jerusalem bagel with egg and cheese. It was absolutely decadent and the perfect way to start the day. Between the outstanding food, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service, this restaurant exceeded every expectation. A huge shoutout to Sam for making our visit so memorable. We can't wait to come back the next time we're in the area to explore more of the menu and, hopefully, have Sam as our server again!

BIG BREAKFAST - 18 This spread came with choice of eggs (scrambled or sunny side), bacon, crispy potatoes, baked beans, toasted rye, and a small side of yogurt with granola. Overall, this was a bit of a hit-or-miss. The scrambled egg tasted pretty basic, but I did love the crispy edge of the sunny side. The bacon was way too crispy and hard, which I didn't like, so I let my friend enjoy my portion. The potatoes were definitely the highlight with buttery soft interior, and crispy exterior that was seasoned with salt and herbs. On the downside, the baked beans were too sweet for my taste, and the toasted rye was stale and hard. The yogurt was incredibly rich, so the small portion of it was perfect. While this was a large spread of food, I don't think I would order it again. I did notice the Danish toast while I browsed the menu, but I'll save it for a future visit if I do decide to dine-in!

I'd definitely get that again but there are also so many other items on the menu I'm excited to try. The cardamom bun fell flat though. I went back for a weekday lunch recently and the food and atmosphere both hold up fabulously, so it makes sense why they've remained a brunch mainstay at both their East Village and Williamsburg locations. I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.
