I would say more a 4.5 than a 4! I really enjoy the bagels here and they have so many different flavors of cream cheese which I think is super fun! There is a line sometimes but I would say things move pretty fast! There is some seating which is nice, but they are also close to prospect park so great to grab and go. I took over the .5 because I think it's a little expensive especially if you get a lox's bagel with all three toppings (tomato, onion, capers). I know that lox's bagels are more expensive in general but I believe the total is 16.88 (I could be a little off on the price) which is a bit steep. read more

Had breakfast here with a friend recently and was quite pleased. The menu has a variety of options to choose from; bagels, omelets, coffee, etc. My friend and I had a delicious omelet with whole wheat toast. I grabbed some fresh orange juice although I wanted an iced coffee (I'll have that next time of course). The line moves very quickly in here and there's seating inside to enjoy your meal. I love this shop! They're cash preferred which isn't always convenient, but who cares when every bagel you get is delicious? The team is always so friendly. They're quick most of the time, but I have seen them get backed up in a rush. The bagels are worth it! They give a nice portion, too. I always have half for breakfast and half a couple hours later. Employees have changed recently; They appear to have a few racist Mexicans running the show now. The order taker put in my order to the cook and added a few words after saying egg and cheese that made the cook look at me strangely. I ignored it until they kept me waiting while others received their order and the cook kept looking @ me. And the kitchen looks disgusting they don't keep it clean. It's like a bagel utopia right on Flatbush Avenue! I'm not a morning person but whenever I get a bagel from here "it's a good morning". Seems like the bulk of the other reviews have been written by other "non-morning" people who were a little hangry. Nonetheless, I have been here many times in person and recommend that you try them out. Whoa, the bagels! They are hearty and tasty. They definitely embody the classic NY flavor without being dry. The egg bagels deserve an honorable mention. And the cream cheese options are mighty varied though I just stick to the savory ones that preferably have chives in them. The price is on par with other bagel shops in highly re-gentrified areas; steep but you definitely get what you pay for. I gladly fork out the $10.50, $11.43 with taxes for the Italian hero which is the shining star in my opinion. It's a swine lover's dream atop the bagel of your choice. I opt for a perfectly toasted poppy seed bagel and nix the tomatoes. I go and forth with whether to add Mayo or not because it's not completely necessary; the included oil and vinegar hits the spot too. I have only been able to make it through one half for breakfast but trust me the other half is just as good for lunch. I recommend that you come through on the earlier end of traditional breakfast hours, definitely before hunger has set in and you are to patiently wait for your bagel to be made just the way that you like it. read more

Today was my first time going there, tried a sample of their blueberry and walnut raisin creamcheese, which lacked flavor and was not a fan of the texture. aside from that, i still decided to give the place a chance, chose their blueberry bagel with plain cream cheese and added bacon to hopefully add flavor but unfortunately a few bites in and i noticed it tasted off. i opened it and noticed it was just a bunch of fat strips.. that didnt even look cooked at that. Overall, was not enjoyable and it gave me food poisioning which made me throw up. Would not recommend at all. That is when this restaurant shows its true colors. The bagels stale after one day, for $18 (cash only, BOO HISS!) this is unacceptable. They also have a tiny bagel selection which is inappropriate considering the name. I've been to many better bagel shops, but this one is close by so I can't complain. I had some bagels delivered yesterday. My toasted sesame bagel was fresh, plump, and loaded with cream cheese. I asked for tomato on it too, which they majorly skimped on. All I got was a thin slice in there. My bf had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a toasted everything pumpernickel bagel and he loved it. I thought it was interesting that his everything bagel had toasted fennel and oats on it. Don't they normally just have toasted onion, sesame and poppy seed? Fennel is kind of an offensive flavor -- you either love it or you hate it, but I digress. We also got a french toast bagel because we were curious what it would taste like and sure enough, fresh toast! It'd be great with a strawberry or blueberry cream cheese. All and all I was satisfied and I'd order from them again. In terms of in-person service, I've been there a couple times and it's fine. The guys run it like a typical NY deli where you're expected to know what you want when it's your turn to order. They're not the warmest bunch, but in this context I don't really care about that. I will say though, it doesn't run as smoothly as it did when it was Bergen Bagels. Both times I've been since it turned to Flatbush Bagels, they've been out of things we wanted, whereas when it was Bergen it seemed like they were constantly cranking out fresh bagels and keeping the baskets full. read more

What's with all the hate? This is a great, quick-service, no-nonsense spot with a huge menu. The bagels are usually a hefty size and the schmears are generous. There's a wide assortment of cream cheeses and spreads: my favorite is the egg salad ~*with dill*~, which I haven't seen anywhere else. This place is sooo much better than Nagle's Bagels that used to be on Lincoln Road and the staff is friendly and hardworking. They program the register with funny messages sometimes =) My only wish is that they'd get cold brew on tap. I don't care for the iced coffee, so I usually get my bagel and then head to Cinnamon Girl nearby for my drink. read more

My fave local bagel joint in Flatbush. These guys are fast and high quality with their bagels and always serve fresh everything on their expansive menu. My husband and I go about once a week and love the speed and convenience. It's a pick up and go kind of place -- they have seating but not really the vibe to sit and eat. They also source in a lot of great pastries in --I often pick up a box of the mini black and whites and I've never been disappointed. They're definitely a must try for bagels if you're looking in the Flatbush/little Caribbean neighborhood! Leaving a star off because of the coffee quality--not the best but let's be honest: you're there for the bagels not the coffee so do we really even care? (Rhetorical--we do not, but If you DO care: grab coffee from Cinnamon Girl down the street after you snag your bagel order!).
