We actually stopped in town to have late lunch at another restaurant that a friend recommended, but we passed Nagomi on the way, spotted a couple veg-friendly options on their menu, and the rest is history. The restaurant is quite small, but we got a seat at the window immediately after ordering at the counter. After that they were turning people away (mostly large groups which I don't think they'd be able to accommodate anyway). I had the tofu poke bowl (rice bowl with tofu, avocado, cucumber, wakame, carrot, sesame seeds, and green onion) and J. had the teriyaki crispy tofu bowl (rice bowl with fried tofu, cabbage, carrot, cucumber, teriyaki & sesame sauce). Both were quite salty to me, but also they were quite delicious. And large. I took half of mine to go and was grateful for the leftovers later. I will note that the bathroom situation was a little strange. You exit the restaurant and go down the hall where you'll find a single-occupant washroom. But there are two doors -- the one you came in and the one next to the toilet that goes into the kitchen. I peed as quickly as possible with my eyes on both doors the whole while praying no one would barge in either one. They did not. The tofu teriyaki was yummy. Crispy with a nice sauce. Protein portion was a little on the lean side. Rice and veggies were also ok. A kind of sesame sauce. Gyoza tasted strange. Not sure what it was. read more

This is the place to be if you are in GOLDEN! A group of friends and I were trying to find a really good meal in the area (which is definitely hard to find). We came across this quaint sushi/ramen restaurant and absolutely loved it. I ordered their sushi and it was fresh and clean. Their rice bowls are hearty and flavorful! The takoyaki was one of the best I've eaten. This place is it if you want authentic Japanese food. It definitely competes with the restaurants in New Jersey and New York City! read more

The aroma as I walked past this restaurant is what got my wife and I to give it a try, and we were very glad that we did! The food tasted even better than it smelled. I love Nagomi Sushi in Golden, BC. I eat there twice per week - more if I could. My favourite is the Teriyaki Beef Don and their Miso soup, which is actually full of great vegetables and tofu. My girlfriend prefers the California Roll and Tuna Sashimi because its so fresh and the portions are very generous. We just got back from a trip to the west coast, eating sushi at every chance and we soon found us longing for the value and taste of Nagomi Sushi in little old Golden. read more
