Lightning quick! Nagoya is currently at the top of my list for takeout. On one occasion, it was literally 15 minutes from when I called them to when they were at my door, and I don't live nearby. They're also open relatively late, which is great for when I'm studying and I suddenly realize that I'm starving and I look at the clock and it's 10:30 pm... Plus, they take credit cards over the phone and keep the number on file! Makes the whole experience totally hassle-free. I won't rhapsodize about the food; it's pretty good, but if I were inclined to leave my apartment, I'd go somewhere better. However, the chefs are very competent; I've never had anything that didn't taste fresh. And the prices make it very affordable. read more

I think it has become a habit of mine to hand pick out the B health inspection rated sushi places and attend them. Maybe I like to live on the wildside? Or the stupidside? Anyway, Nagoya is pretty good. Not my favorite sushi spot for the neighborhood, but definetely a good one. They have a lot of rolls for 2.50 so that is a good deal. The beef nagi maki is pretty good, but its hard to mess up beef in soy sauce. Our waiter was super nice and friendly, and I came in a group of 6 and in the end, without asking, they seperated the bill for all of us.. which was helpful for us. Nagoya Sushi, you rock my world! Every time I order, I would spend $50-$70. My family loves this place. Their sushi is fresh, well presented and on point. I would come back here over and over again. I only order the cooked stuff. The portions are good for the price. I can't give them 5 stairs because I tell them to label the items for me and the lady at the register said she did that but I found out that she didn't once I got home. Third time ordering. This time for delivery. Extremely long wait!! Estimated was 30-45 minutes. It took 65 minutes! Called at 50 minutes and they weren't able to provide a time when the delivery person left and did not give an explanation. Sushi is still good though. I ordered a lunch special (two rolls and soup), then they said they have a $10 minimum for credit cards. So I decided what the heck, let me get 3 rolls and that will be $10. So I paid and waited. I asked for spicy mayo and they said it's 50 cents extra...i said I am not paying 50 cents for a small thing of mayo when I just paid $10 worth of food. And to top it off when I'm almost done eating, i found a staple on my sushi (see photo)....I didn't order my sushi with staples, I didn't see that on the menu! read more

I've lived in Midwood my whole life and have never actually eaten in Midwood. Nagoya is a nice little place stuck between a pharmacy and a Dunkin' Donuts, but it definitely stands out in the neighborhood. Once Nagoya opened up I actually started eating in my neighborhood. The actual place is nice and the food is delicious. I especially get a kick out of the little stars they make from the carrot's, that's always a cute touch to a meal. The only thing standing between four and five stars is the in house service can be a little mixed. I remember I ordered another drink once and never got it. I ended up getting so tired of asking for it over and over again I pretty much gave up. Besides the once in a bluemoon inattentive server staff the place is good for the money. read more

Really rude staff. Ordered online, received my food super late (well over an hour after we ordered it, and a good 45 minutes after the latest time they said they would arrive). When I called to check on when it would arrive, the woman who answered the phone snapped at me and hung up after very rudely answering my question. Some customer service goes a long way. In total, I waited close to two hours for food that they said would be delivered within 45 minutes. In general though, the food was o.k. The sushi we had did not stick together, but the flavors were good. Definitely not the best sushi I have ever had. The prices are reasonable though, so it could be worth it for that. Great service, exceptional and fresh sushi, I had the Salmon roll, California roll, and Boston Roll. I also had Takoyaki, which was my favorite. It was served beautifully on a plate ( I just wished I had taken a picture before devouring it!). The prices are reasonable, the location was easy to find and a very comfortable setting. read more

I ordered the shrimp tempura and Philadelphia roll delicious and tasty.l picked it up so that is why I did not give them five star because I did not eat in to respond on the in house service. Nagoya is the best sushi spot on Kings Highway. The staff is always super friendly and the decor is sleek and modern. The sushi is fantastic and always presented beautifully. The appetizers are great too especially the Nagoya pizza or sandwich and the black swan salad. On a Friday night you might wait a while for your food but definitely worth it! read more

A roll for $2.50?! Oh my god! NO EAT TILL BROOKLYN! Manhattan sushi places sometimes fit too neatly into "authentic" or fusion. Nagoya reminds us that this is less of a binary and more of a Kinsey scale on which it rates about a 5 (Nagoya eats sushi, but also likes big shrimp tempura). They carry sashimi pizza which is sashimi on a scallion pancake with mayonnaise on top. The mayonnaise does overwhelm the flavor of the sashimi which is cut thin, but the taste is complex. There are various interesting salads and specials like the Star War (haha). The rolls were excellent, ample, and creative, I mean, when have I ever had a crunchy sweet potato roll? Their Rock N Roll and Shrimp Tempura roll were also very good and for some reason, their bento boxes looked like the biggest I've seen (in a while). They also play a remix of "Buttons" that loops "my butt...my butt...loosen up my butt..." Maybe they don't speak enough English or just have a wicked sense of humor. read more

I feel glad that I just order like 17 pieces and tota cost me $19.5 The prices are not expensive but the food taste so bad. Those sushi are unfresh and look like be in there for like long time. I didnt even try one sushi restaurant like this before. Dont expect I'll come back and I'll tell my fds not gonna order also. Yet another Chinese owned Japanese restaurant but it's decent. I ordered the Chicken teriyaki bento box for lunch and they give you a lot of food for $10! It comes with chicken, rice, two pieces of siu mai, a California roll and miso soup. Everything tasted pretty standard and I'm fine with that. My coworker got the Beef teriyaki instead and that looked pretty good as well. Delivery was fast. I would order from here again. read more

Good sushi for this area, nice service, nice decor. What is a plus, is that the sushi has a good rice-filling ratio. They don't bulk up the rice, which a lot of places do. It's just a thing layer around the ingredence lurking inside. *Two Thumbs Up* ;) Some of the specials are delish while other are just A-OK.. If your in midwood & craving sushi, this is the spot, but I wouldn't head here from a different part of Brooklyn for the sushi. I came here for lunch one day for two main reasons: 1. I go to school near here and 2. I taught English in Nagoya for one year. The waitress informed me that the owners are Chinese (as seems the trend of Japanese places in this area) and that no one who worked there had ever lived in Nagoya. I took this as a bad sign and expected the sushi/sashimi bento to be average at best. To my surprise, the sashimi was excellent. They even included a piece of buttery sashimi I had never tried before. I asked the waitress and she said it was white tuna, but I had never had white tuna like this before. Looking up white tuna on the internet now, I see that I was probably served escolar, which, ironically, I could not have legally obtained in Nagoya, due to the gastointestinal distress that can occur from eating too much. Whatever, it was super delicious. I can't get it out of my head. The rest of the bento was great too (other highlights: salmon sashimi and crispy shumai, ONLY $8.95!) and the decor is quite tasteful. Pleasantly surprised and will be back here on special occasions (Hayashi-ya, a few blocks away, is a better bet for bargain basement Japanese). read more

We ordered: Kani Salad - good Spicy tuna tartare - the spicy tuna was way too salty Hamachi kama - burnt on one side. the side remaining did taste fresh but again way too salty Cooked sushi special - shrimp, eel, crab and shrimp tempura roll - ok Tuna Special - tuna avocado roll topped with spicy tuna - again the spicy tuna was too salty and I did not like the taste of their hot oil/sauce I won't be coming back. read more

Very nice ambiance here in the middle of 86th st. Chic and modern. For the food the live scallops are amazing. I would definitely go back for that. The scallops were juicy, had a great tenderness to it and crunch. The sauce they paired it with was perfect. It was $12.95 for 6 of them. I ordered a sampling of sushi pieces for my main course (Salmon, Tuna, Fluke, Spanish Mackeral, Squid, Eel and Uni) and it's ok. It's a little under par with the delivery I get from my place in Marine Park (Kawaii). The waiters are very nice and the service was good. It's decent but nothing to write home about except for the live scallops. 3 stars for everything else. 4 stars for the live scallops. read more

Ordered: Chicken teriyaki Pros--The price ($7 plus tax and tip) was decent for the portion. Cons--Service was pretty bad. They seemed to have one waiter servicing the entire restaurant. Whenever I am hanging out with one of my friends, we often come out to Kings Highway for sushi. The staff is attentive and friendly. There is good decor. The most recent time I had went here, the sushi chef sang to the music which was playing; I found this pretty funny cuz they were having fun while working, which is definitely not a bad thing. Their food is delicious but I have yet to try the food or rolls which are unique to this particular spot. read more

On occasion, I trek to Kings Hwy to see my huny to fulfill my duties of being a good luva'. The food options is limited to a few Russian restaurant's, a McDonald's and some take out places. We were both ecstatic when Nagoya opened up because it's the only sushi place near my huny's crib. It's become our default choice when we are too lazy to go to the city to eat. The decor is not so bad and the service is efficient and polite. There has been times when they forget an order or else don't refill our tea or water until we ask them to. It's actually a Chinese owned restaurant but the food isn't bad for the price. How can anyone complain about 1/2 priced sushi/sashimi? We've gone here several times and have tried a lot of their rolls, salads and appetizers. There was one time when the spicy tuna roll tasted a bit off but the overall quality is good. Their Nabeyaki & Seafood Udons are HUGE and they are very generous with the seafood. They have expanded their menu and added some very interesting items that we tried. Like I said, it's become a reliable place for my huny and I to go to when we're craving sushi. read more

My husband and I come here all the time. The sushi is consistently good with lots of interesting rolls. Their appetizers and other entrees are very good too. They try to buy rare fish when they can and they often have interesting specials. The food always has a nice presentation and the presentation changes every time even if you order the same things. They really try to make an effort. The restaurant was remodeled a couple of years ago and the restaurant does a great job keeping nice appearances. I ordered delivery from this place waiting to try it out, im always hesitant on ordering sushi for take out cause i always order my sushi with out avocado or cucumber cause i am allergic to them. So a gave them the benefit of doubt and wrote on the comments to remove the avocados, expecting them to see it and acknowledge it. When the order came, it had the avocados in them.
