My daughter really loves sushi rolls and kept requesting to have sushi for lunch. So we came to this restaurant after Kelly playground park. The food was delicious but a little pricy compare to our usually place at Midwood... but overall the food was good and service was acceptable.

I was SO pleasantly surprised by this place. I came here expecting decent sushi at a fair price but and while the price was what i expected, the sushi was MUCH better. The quality of fish is great and the flavor combinations were excellent. I will definitely be going back to try more of their rolls! The restaurant was clean and the service was quick and attentive. Our waitress also did not mind when we had chatted the first few minutes and she had to visit us a couple times before we actually ordered which I appreciated! I will definitely be making this a go to spot for me.

Nagoya is one of the remaining truly iconic Sushi/Asian fusion Brooklyn's restaurants. It's been around for many years and still going strong. They offer not only vast variety of delicious freshly made nigiri & maki sushi, sashimi, but also spectacular salads, scrumptious appetizers and lots of dishes ranging from traditional Japanese cuisine to Thai. On a weekday they offer amazing Lunch Specials from both sushi & hot dishes sections of the menu, which is very convenient, affordable and includes choice of either a Miso soup or vegetable salad plus either 2, 3 rolls or a hot dish. They also have few exclusive items like my favorite Nagoya sandwich-amazing combination of smoked salmon (lox), spicy salmon, kani, avocado, crunchy, tobiko (flying fish caviar) and Nagoya Pizza both of which are spectacular and I would definitely recommend to try it, especially the Sandwich. Service is always great, staff is very welcoming, courteous and friendly. Interior is typical for a medium sized Japanese restaurant, with a nice ambiance and chill vibe, very clean and pleasant. Definitely recommend this place even if you're not a big fan of sushi, it's guaranteed that you'll find something else to enjoy! Also don't forget to order a cocktail and dessert, I personally love their Creme Brûlée and Mango or Chocolate gelato flutes-unbelievably yummy! 10 out of 10

My dumplings were burnt beyond recognition and they still decided to serve. Disgusting, disrespectful and disappointing as I paid over $30 for just 2 items.

When back this week for dinner and the service was quick and the food so tasty. Ordered a couple of dishes and theywere all prepared well. Ordered a couple appetizers, a few rolls, chicken katsu and hot sake. Everything was fresh, we went by at around 6:30-7:30 on a weekday so it wasn't full or busy.

Good sushi, good prices. Service is mediocre but I wouldn't expect better. I had the Odessa roll, the cucumber special roll, a spicy salmon roll, a clear soup, and the mango kani salad. Everything was really good. Their selection of special rolls is huge. Food came out quickly too.

I was nervous about this place because my boyfriend chose it and he doesn't really look at the reviews. But I was pleasantly surprised when I got my food. Not too bad! My main critique is that I ordered a Kani Salad and there seemed to be more cucumber than kani. I was used to a kani salad that was equal parts kani (imitation crab) and salad. There were other reviews I saw that said that it was too dry and didn't have enough sauce/dressing but I thought it was fine in that aspect. Just needed more kani. My boyfriend got the volcano roll. I've never tried it before but the description seemed promising. When it arrived, I thought it looked so unlike traditional sushi that I didn't think I'd like it, but it was really good! It was a cooked sushi, the rice on the outside seemed to be pan fried, which gave a really nice texture, and the inside was a very flavorful spicy, cooked, fish (I think it was eel?). I'd actually recommend this to someone who doesn't like traditional sushi. I also ordered the sushi love boat for two because I was really craving sashimi and this definitely satisfied my craving. Fish tasted good, but I thought the tuna tasted a bit bloody. I don't know if I would order this again, but I wouldn't say no if it was given to me. I've seen many reviewers unhappy about the service, but they were very good to me. I didn't have to wait too long for the food to come either and they did check in with me to see if I needed anything.

Had horrible food poisoning after eating here. Went out with my friends and ordered sushi , Thai tea and curry chicken soup . Thai tea tasted like rotten eggs, sushi had no taste and soup didn't taste fresh . Don't go here !

I'm a hibachi super fan! And, I've been on a sad journey searching for satisfying, quality hibachi in nyc. Well, sadly the search continues. First, the seasoning is not great. The fried rice is not quality. The portion size is small for $13 and quality level. The worst part is like most hibachi places I've found, they don't have YUM YUM sauce. #devastating The only upside is the fast service and ambiance/decor. I won't be returning however.

The fish was very fresh and good quality. We tried the fried purple yams, fried chicken, stir fried udon, yakisoba, and a variety of sushi platters. I would highly recommend the Tokyo Don which was a variety of fish and seafood on a bed of rice. The Salmon Lover's was also excellent, and slices of fish were nice and thick. Service: Service was wonderful! Our waiter was attentive and came back to check on us throughout the meal. There's a button to press when you need service, and our waiter was always quick to come after we pressed it. Ambiance: The restaurant is a good size with tables sectioned off into small "rooms". There are two private rooms downstairs that fit about 6-7 people each. The rooms are adjoining and good for large groups. Seating downstairs is the Japanese-style tables where you put your legs into a pit under the table. Decor and ambiance is very nice, and seating is comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

It was an absolute lifesaver that kept the girls happily entertained. And the food was absolutely worth savoring. We kicked things off with a round of handrolls--salmon avocado, spicy salmon, and yellowtail--which were perfectly crisp and packed with fresh fish. I went all in on the Salmon Lovers set, and it was an absolute dream. It came with a massive, beautiful spread of salmon sushi, seven thick pieces of melt-in-your-mouth sashimi, a salmon avocado roll, a bright kani salad, and a really savory piece of grilled salmon. We also shared the Ysukiji sushi platter, which featured a gorgeous, high-quality assortment of cuts, while the Smoked Chicken bento box was a huge hit, offering fantastic cooked flavors and generous portions. The room we were in mimicked a traditional Japanese room where everyone had to sit on the floor and put their legs under the table. It was fun for the younger people but it was difficult for the elders to sit down and get back up. Between the incredibly fresh sushi and the warm hospitality that kept the whole family smiling the entire time, this spot easily earned five stars. We can't wait to come back!

We walked into a cozy, intimate space that felt more like a traditional Japanese noodle shop than a large restaurant, with a warm, understated energy that kept the attention on the food. The dining room was modest and inviting, with a layout that accommodated a steady flow of customers, and the focus was clearly on the quality of the noodles and the care that went into each bowl. The udon was the highlight of the meal. The noodles had a thick, chewy texture that showed the difference between freshly made udon and typical packaged noodles, and the broth was flavorful without feeling too heavy, with a savory depth that paired well with the noodles. We ordered a few different bowls and found the shrimp tempura udon standing out, with the tender shrimp, crispy tempura coating, and rich broth coming together in a way that felt complete. The restaurant also offers different styles of udon, including hot and cold options, which gave us good variety depending on what we were looking for. Beyond the udon, Raku has a selection of additional dishes that complement the meal. The menu keeps the focus on Japanese comfort food, and the smaller dishes made it easy to add something extra without taking away from the main bowl. We appreciated that the restaurant does not overcomplicate the food and instead focuses on getting the fundamentals right. The dining experience is more relaxed and intimate, though the space is limited and can get busy during peak hours. Reservations are helpful, especially during popular dining times, and seating can feel a little tight because of the smaller layout. Despite the size, the atmosphere works well for enjoying a slower meal centered around a warm bowl of udon. The staff moved through the room with a quiet efficiency, and the pacing of the meal kept the experience smooth and unhurried. Overall, Raku is a great spot for anyone looking for high-quality udon in NYC. The handmade noodles, flavorful broths, and simple approach to Japanese comfort food make it stand out. It is the type of restaurant we would return to when craving a satisfying bowl of noodles rather than a more casual ramen-style meal.
