Ver friendly staff and accommodating from the moment we walked in. There's a wide variety of sushi, appetizers and even some entrees! Tried the crabmeat cheese balls and they came out hot and crispy! The Thai tea was sweet and tasty. Ordered a variety of sushi and all were very good. Next time I plan on trying the yakisoba dishes. I visited at around 11:30 am and the place was a bit empty but started to get a bit busy by around 1pm. The staff came to check on us multiple times which was very nice. The decoration is beautiful with a cherry bloom fake tree by the entrance. Can't wait to comeback. Keep in mind that is better to park at the shopping center nearby. read more

Nagoya is a hidden treasure in Rockville, located by the Safeway in the King Farm subdivision, it maybe easily passed by. Nagoya has been a staple of the surrounding community which is ever growing and expanding. The opening 20 years ago was welcomed in the area, especially for me since I worked literally across the pike and it was very convenient. The food and sushi here has always been fresh and great tasting. The service is excellent and always greeted with a smile, no wonder the locals frequent this spot. Ordered carryout/takeaway on a Monday evening through Nagoya's Online Ordering system. --------- How this rating came about (even if it doesn't completely make sense): Experiences at Nagoya if WANG (employee) was not there = NEGATIVE STARS. Food is standard and cost a little high = 3 STARS. WANG (employee) = 5 STARS --------- ~ "Order Online" menu (ordering through their website)... Terrible. PRO: Placing the order through their "Order Online" menu is simple enough. CON: The website does not provide when the order is ready or how long it might take. I needed to call to find out if the order was ready for pick up. (FYI - It's the next day and the Order Online website still states, "Your order has been received and will be with you shortly.") CON: You cannot review their Order Online menu during off hours. CON: If you want nigiri, be very careful when you order these through their online order menu. ~ Staff/Service... WANG is a superstar! My friend and I split a pork gyoza appetizer and sushi burrito. We chose deep fried gyoza and it was crispy! The sushi burrito was great too! We were given 3 protein options, so we chose spicy salmon, tuna, and shrimp tempura. We also added seaweed salad, cucumber, and avocado for the vegetables. For the sauce, we chose spicy mayo. Everything tasted fresh and the shrimp tempura gave each bite a good crunch. It was kind of like a 2 for 1 because we wanted shrimp and tempura flakes! So I have to admit that I had plans for writing some scathing comments after discovering that they're STILL closed to eat in dining. Transported sushi feels inappropriate. I had ordered sushi from Nagoya through Door Dash and I thought it was AMAZING so I wanted to go and try it in person to see what it was like fresh from the chef (hence my disappointment of becoming my own delivery driver). I asked if they were going to open soon for in person dining and they claimed that they were thinking about it for next month (which makes no sense if you have Covid fears (winter being a worse Covid time)). AAAAND, the chef said that they would do Omakase which is my favorite was to eat sushi so I have to wait for that to happen. Anyway...this is supposed to be a review and not a rant session. Sorry. Their sushi is not only massive but easily the most reasonably priced in all of the DMV. While I do love the huge pieces of fish, this last order (and only this last time) had way too much rice on it. My rule of thumb is that if it's two bites, it's too big. With that said, the fish was fresh and well handled/sliced. I had the sushi deluxe and it easily two meals (partially because of the rice issue mentioned above). I am anxious for this place to open for in-person dining but for now I'll have to deal with the remote eating. read more

I used to work down the street from Nagoya, and I would eat there at least 3-4 times a month. This was the place where I was introduced to sweet potato rolls & would order them every time. Check out my pics & you can see how fresh the sushi is. I'm not a huge fan of the décor but it's adequate for a quick out of the office lunch. Not sure I would bring a client there. Pros -Friendly customer service -Restaurant was beautifully decorated and clean -Various sushi choices from maki rolls, hand rolls, vegetable rolls etc. -Food was nicely presented. The food was just okay. I ordered two rolls from the chef's menu. The spicy rock shrimp was nothing special. The shrimp was a regular cocktail shrimp, the flavor was blah and too much mayo to my liking. The spicy to mayo ratio was off. The crunchy roll with the eel was a tad better than the shrimp. And I only say that because it had the tempura texture and the eel sauce drizzle.... I would not order either rolls next time. The service was good. We were greeted and seated promptly. We ordered a lot of food and everything was out within 15 minutes. I was really impressed with their timing because they were pretty busy. All the fish was extremely fresh and did not have the fishy odor or aftertaste that some sushi places have. Since tonight is their Monday night special, the salmon nigiri was $1.50/piece. The staff was friendly and alert to our needs, the food came out to perfection, and the prices were reasonable. You should give them a try when you're in the area. If you're in King Farm and craving sushi but don't want to go far, this will satisfy your craving. There was a day of the week where they have $1 nigiri. I think it was Mondays but I'm not sure. They also offer a customizable sushi burrito with a lot of different options. The service is okay. I've never been treated poorly here but not great either. There have been multiple occasions that I have come in to dine where the rice is sour from too much mirin or vinegar. But I've ordered things to go in the past and the rice was fine. Located near Capital One Bank and Safeway in the King Farm Village Center, Nagoya offers sushi in a traditional atmosphere. Service was typical of any Asian restaurant...not very attentive. Sushi...eek! Came here for lunch one afternoon and ordered several rolls. The sushi didn't taste as fresh and some of the rolls had rice that was semi-hard. The salmon/avocado and tuna/avocado weren't bad. The amount of fish/avocado in each roll was pretty generous, although the roll pieces were cut unevenly. But the spicy tuna and yellow tail rolls were just horrible. The fish was so finely chopped and mashed together that it had the consistency of baby food. Yikes! Another roll with cooked salmon and avocado was just as disgusting. Uh uh. On the bright side, Nagoya does offer $1 nigiri on Mondays. They also have a loyalty card...for every $10 that you pay in cash, you get one stamp on the card. Once you get 10 stamps on the card (i.e. spend $100 and pay in cash), you get $10 off. Will I be back on a Monday to try out their nigiri? Maybe. Will I fill up a loyalty card one day? Most likely not. read more
