This is an awesome small business with delicious sushi! We walked in for carry out and we were greeted by a kind lady who took our order patiently. We enjoyed the food at home and it was delicious! Would definitely come back.

Delicious! I've only ever done takeout but look at the portions! So much fish is included in each order. The website is a little outdated but the online ordering function works just fine.

Sushi House in Rockville is a solid spot with great value. Their lunch specials are a great deal, and the sushi quality is consistently good. I've never had a disappointing experience here. The server is extremely nice and impressively talented at memorizing multiple orders without missing a beat. The restaurant itself is small and cozy, with light wood accents--nothing fancy, but it's perfect for a quick, reliable sushi stop. I usually go for the crunchy spicy salmon rolls (CSS) and a crunchy spicy tuna hand roll (CST). The fish is perfectly cubed and sized--not ground up like other places--so the texture and mouth feel are much better. The marinade is subtle, enhancing the natural flavor of the fish without overpowering it. The rice-to-fish ratio is spot on, about 75% fish to 25% rice, which makes for a great balance in every bite. Like many places, Sushi House took a big hit during COVID, especially with remote work cutting down their lunch crowd. As a result, they've lost a lot of the regulars who would normally stop by during the day. I really hope more people give them a try for lunch--it's a great spot, and they deserve the support!

Such a gem in Maryland. Amazing customer service and the staff here is super nice. They know me and my friends orders by heart now lol. We come here often because of the price, efficiency, and the fresh taste of all the rolls they have to offer. Love it here

My coworker has been going to Sushi House a few times a week for the last 6 months. Yesterday I decided to go with her for the first time and am glad that I did. Having grown up in Japan, I know good sushi and this is it. The value for money spent is great, and the sushi tastes amazing. I always get the shrimp tempura as the first thing to try at a sushi restaurant to try to see if anything else is worth having, and I can't wait to move on to their nigiri next visit! Dōmo arigatōgozaimasu!

Eel roll, spicy tuna roll, mackerel nigiri, yellowtail roll

WORST sushi I've ever had. It tastes so salty and odd. The nigiri was inedible. The chicken udon noodles aren't pictured but it came with the noodles and soup separate and the soup legitimately looked like it was soy sauce and water with a few pieces of boiled chicken and spinach. While I wanted to see if this place was any good for a slightly cheaper priced sushi than others in the area, I paid the price with a disappointing meal to say the least.

Solid takeout sushi option! I have only been to this place post COVID so I only have had takeout. The quality of the sushi is decent, and I can always bank on this place to satisfy my craving for sushi. My favorite rolls here are the dragon roll and the inner harbor roll. The crunchy spicy scallops roll is also an excellent choice and a cheaper alternative to the inner harbor roll. If you're in the area during the weekday for lunch, they have a 3 for $13 roll (no special rolls included, also may have increased in price now) deal that is great. I usually get the spicy tuna, yellowtail and scallion, and an eel and avocado with the deal. I like their spicy tuna a lot, not sure if it is normal but they added some scallions in and it make the flavor really great!

Not the greatest sushi in the world and not much to speak of in terms of ambience. Like many other diners, we were the only ones there. I think this is primarily a takeout restaurant. There is a bit of Japanese art on the walls but otherwise it is a bit dreary. Certainly not a place to take a date. Compared to other sushi nearby, this place does not shine but the portions are large and affordable. I have a very good miso soup for only $1.50 and the Chirashi bowl, which was stuffed with tuna salmon, tilapia, and shrimp. It was quite a large bowl but really not very tasty. The owners / operators appear to be Chinese - not Japanese. However, they are very friendly and cheerful, so service was nice. We were hungry and we left with full bellies. But we won't be back...

It was really popular that evening, so the three of got squished at the table meant for two, but we didn't mind. The menu is pretty extensive, offering ramen, udon, tonkatsu, rice bowls, grilled fish sets, and more. We ordered pretty quickly, but with how busy it was, it took a bit for the food to come out CHILEAN SEA BASS - 37 As I scanned through, my eyes immediately fell on the miso sea bass. Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Overall, food was delicious and homey. I'd definitely recommend!

Absolutely floored by the fatty tuna sushi roll. It is on the pricier side, but honestly, I don't think I even minded. We got the katsu and sashimi combo plus some rolls on the side. The katsu was delicious, and the sashimi was super fresh. The combo also came with the cutest little side dishes, really adorable presentation overall. The staff was also incredibly attentive about my friend's allergies (dairy and nuts). They kept checking in with us and even showed us the sauce ingredients to make sure everything was safe. One of the staff members called my friend "kawaii" after hearing her long list of allergies lol, and honestly, that made my day.

We ordered some app, sushi, and a ton of meats. The sushi was so/so the ikura was a bit fishy/not the freshest, but I gave it a pass since it was included in the AYCE. The fried lotus was surprisingly my favorite non meat dish. Our friend rice was served lukewarm (the consistency of rice was a bit uneven like older rice that was left out for a bit) and way too oily so we had to send it back. Had no issues with the meat and service - although it was a tad slow and the 10 minute cooldown between ordering was unexpected. Our server was great and kept checking in with us. A few items we ordered never made it out to us, but at that point we were too full to care. My main complaint was with one of the hosts. We finished our meal and thanked our waiter and made our way back to the parking garage. From behind, we heard a very loud "EXCUSE ME." We originally thought we had dropped something and someone was looking out for us, but was appalled when she followed us halfway across the street and said "you think you're just going to leave without paying for your mocktail?" That was hands down the rudest I've been treated by a customer service based establishment. I've worked in hospitality and know you should never accuse a customer of anything. To make matters worse, she got the wrong people - we never ordered a mocktail. Will likely not return to Gyuzo for a while and stick to other bbq places with better service.

It's a place that isn't too big, didn't have a crazy pop, but the food hits just right, every time. It's certainly a gem. Yesterday (Friday night), two friends (one celebrating a bday) and I wanted to get some sushi and keep it pushing. We went to Akagi right up the road and got ordering right away. The service? The staff was so kind and treated us like regulars. Jokes, refills, and the owner personally made us some matcha lattes, that really enhanced our night. The server had a great sense of humor and gave solid recommendations (I got the American dream, imma get it again, too!). Everything was highkey delicious. The ambiance is cool, but I wish more people came through. We didn't have a lot of people close by to sing with us, so I had to show the staff - and half of Rockville - my singing prowess (or lack their of) on the happy bday music. Not the Stevie, if you're wondering. For the bday dessert, we split the tempura cheesecake. It was serious work. Seriously. Not too sweet, but something about the crust being fried with the cheesecake filling just took it over the top. Maaan it was good. The sushi? The sushi?! Fairly priced, big portions, well styled, rocked my socks off with eel sauce. We shared as a table and really just had a ball. Between the service, humor, bday singing, delicious food, and extra attention to detail, this may be a "hole in the wall" fave for years to come.
