Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Absolutely floored by the fatty tuna sushi roll. It is on the pricier side, but honestly, I don't think I even minded. We got the katsu and sashimi combo plus some rolls on the side. The katsu was delicious, and the sashimi was super fresh. The combo also came with the cutest little side dishes, really adorable presentation overall. The staff was also incredibly attentive about my friend's allergies (dairy and nuts). They kept checking in with us and even showed us the sauce ingredients to make sure everything was safe. One time there was nigiri made with stale rice, but at least that only happened once. I've had scales in the sushi a couple of times, and the bones have appeared at least three or four times. As far as the quality of the fish goes, it seems pretty hit or miss. I used to really enjoy the extra fatty tuna before I had a particularly bad order, and then I never bothered getting it again because it's a pricey order. The cuts also do not seem to be as generous as they once were. I've continued to give this place a chance because most of the servers have been very pleasant, and I've had some nice memories here. But last week I was at this location for a celebration, and we had sushi with both fish bones and a scale attached. The sushi with the bones was comped, but the sushi with the scale was not. I think I've hit my limit with this location. I'm also surprised that they don't seem to have taken better precautions against fish bones appearing in their sushi given that this has happened multiple times. As much as I've enjoyed coming here, I'm tired of having to wonder about whether or not I'll find something in my food again. Lots of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, salads, soups, variety of appetizers (not all fried stuff!) and hibachi (beef, chicken and shrimp). Tonight, the food arrived pretty quickly after we put in an order. There was an issue toward the end of the evening when the app stopped working at our table and the table next to ours. The Staff did what they could to fix things; it did take about 20 minutes, though. I'm assuming this isn't typical. Staff did say that this does happen from time to time and the customer needs to exit the app and reorder. Except for the 20 minute delay, things worked fine. We placed at least 12 small orders during our meal. The staff was very good about filling water glasses, bringing our food and taking away empty plates. Really - high praise for the staff. The restaurant is very pleasant to sit in. It has Asian motif and nice music playing over the PA. The only issue was with the ordering system, which, as I said, I'm thinking was unusual. The sashimi was decent with the thick Korean cut. Fresh of course. The service is impeccable. They came many many times to take out finished plates and made sure we were okay. The place is small and they don't hide out in the back ignoring the customers. I rediscovered this hidden gem in the are and am so happy, especially with the sinking of Temari. We ended the meal with a sort of doughnut hole rolled in sesame seeds and filled with a ganache, and as someone who does not like sesame, I ate my entire dessert and was thrilled with the flavor they were able to create with the different components melding together. The service was wonderful, the restaurant was spotless, and I can't wait to go back.
