Customer Service: 1 star: got the food to go. The counter person waited in the back having a personal conversation on the phone and it took a little girl watching TV several times to tell her a customer is waiting. The woman had an attitude a patron is disturbing her personal phone call. Food: 0 stars: WE ALL GOT SICK, AFTER 1 BITE IT TASTED OLD AND SPOILED, I hate I didn't see the reviews on yelp first. Everyone who ate the food had nausea, vomiting, and extreme diarrhea. One of my colleagues had to be admitted to the hospital and is going to civilly sue.. Price point: 0 stars: the price point doesn't reflect in the portion size, it's a rip off. Go to TOYIN further up the street. Cleanliness/Atmosphere: 0 stars: just don't even bother with this place. I understand some african people cleaning standards are different than others but this place is a dump. We were all crazy as hell for even attempting to eat our food and I'm surprised we all still alive. The temperature in there was just as hot as outside 07/31/24, that was my red flag. Fortunately after 1 bite I stopped so I didn't get as sick as my colleagues that were 3 bites in before they realized it was spoiled/bad. Overall: I wouldn't come back, this place needs to be investigated by the health department and my co worker that was admitted to the hospital is filing complaints and civilly suing. read more

DONT DO IT ! I gagged just smelling it! got the Egusi soup with fish It was poorly prepared, old , the whole dish was inedible . It had a terrible after taste and look at the fish ew !!!! Never again ! Truly a disappointment. read more

Hmmm. I don't mind too much with the customer service because I was doing take out. One thing I will say was egusis is 17.99 on the menu but he charged me $20... okay that's fine. This is my first time trying it I've seen so many videos and I had to try it. I've had African food in the past, always so good. The place I normally go to had closed so I came here. Omg it was sooooooo bad. I feel like this was frozen and then defrosted? The taste is sooooo off. No seasoning. So disappointing. Waste of money. The beef was tough too. All I can say is wow!! Please don't ever listen to yelp reviews that gang up on restaurants for little things. The food here is spectacular! So flavorful and amazing! The staff is extremely welcoming and super helpful! I will be back to try everything once on the menu! I ordered egusi and Jolof. 10/10 recommend! The flavor is great, the mackerel was good also. However, how can you call this soup? It says it comes with fish and meat. The restaurant says they no longer do meat. I advise you to never not ever, ever order from this place. They are scammers! I can't believe how dishonest this business is. I wanted to support a business that I haven't tried yet but now I'm second guessing myself because I was fooled by this dishonest establishment. I ordered a few items from them to try. Once the items were taken out of the bag, I was in disbelief. The one tray had two pieces of small nuggets of meat. Mind you I paid $23 for these extra small nuggets of meat. Food is tasteless. Additionally, the food was exquisite. That must've been a change in management compared to the previous reviews scene because my experience was very pleasant. Beware! Will not come back. We were very hopeful to see Nigerian food and a place to enjoy, but I'm very put off, moreso my Dad. My Dad and I went there on a Saturday night. Workers and Manager/Owner were kind(in person) and told us more about the menu and lounge aspect. Very hospitable, HOWEVER, when we got home and ate the food, it was terrible. Ogbono stew was tasteless. Consistency was accurate to what it was supposed to be. The fish was NOT fresh by any means- inedible, hard and not fresh. Salt didn't help either. The taste was just muted. Egusi stew did not smell nor taste good at all. I'm not sure how they make their food, but to me this particular dish smelled very off putting. Eat at your own risk. The meat wasn't even cooked with the egusi. It's like they took meat they cooked and simmered in another red stew and plopped it onto an unproperly seasoned egusi stew last minute. Just doesn't make sense to me. Vegetable stew was the better one of all of them. It was edible and mainly spinach- very flavorful. Meat(beef) was same as the egusi- inedible, hard and not fresh, so I didn't eat it. Moi moi was good at the restaurant while we were waiting for our food to be made. So we bought 5 to take home for later in the week. The owner/ or lady we spoke too told us we can freeze them and just warm them up when we want. We get home, refrigerate 2 and freeze 3 immediately. 2days later we cut into them and they were all ROTTEN. Yikes... No hard feelings toward this restaurant, just constructive criticism. I'm not sure if we just got a bad batch, came on a wrong night or if this is just the norm. Either way, this is unacceptable! read more
