I recently worked here and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I had a family emergency and was out Monday and Tuesday, but I made sure to communicate with my supervisor, Penny. I even asked if it was okay to return on Wednesday and she said yes -- so I came in and worked both Wednesday and Thursday. During those days, they were trying to figure out a brand new machine that was very stressful and constantly messing up. I stayed and did my part to help get things going even though it was chaotic. Then out of nowhere, on Thursday at 1:30 PM just 30 minutes before the shift ended Penny told me HR needed to see me. I asked her why and she claimed she didn't know, but clearly she did. I was blindsided when HR terminated me with no real explanation. It felt like they only brought me back for those two days because they were short-staffed and needed help with that machine, and once they didn't need me anymore, they let me go. I showed up, I communicated, and I did the work. I just wish I had been treated with more honesty and respect. read more

My wife and I have been on a search--quest if you will--for the best Key Lime pie. Silly us. We figured it would be somewhere in the land of Key Limes--Florida. Nope, they are made right here in Smyrna, Georgia. Even with the GPS--this place was hard to find. They do not keep even and odd street numbers on the same side. We ended up driving by it twice, before giving up and calling them. Turns out they are located between Amazon and a little Gun store which I found out on leaving was Glock. What could be more American than a pie factory and a gun factory as neighbors for each other. Anyway, the key limes are squeezed fresh on the premises. They had something like ten different pies they make, though some were out of stock due to lasting effects of Covid. They do not ship their pies any longer, so if you are going to want them shipped you are going to have to find a concierge service to do it for you. This is not a pie shop. This is the factory where you go to the plixiglass window and get your deep frozen pies. The lady who waited on us was very polite, full of Southern 'niceness'. They only take cash or checks. No credit cards. What makes it the perfect Key Lime Pie? Color(pale green), taste, sweet, but yet tart, pie filling almost like a truffle, but not as firm, but melts into a slow gentle explosion with your taste buds. And finally the crust, which I have no idea how they make but is so tasty, and resists becoming soggy, and has little morsels of crunchiness. I love Key Lime Pie so when I heard about Kenny's, I had to try it. Verdict? Delicious I've bought their pies at their main location in an office park on Highlands Parkway and at Kroger on South Atlanta Road. Their cold pies are amazing. Smooth and creamy. Not too light and not too heavy. The crust is substantial enough to hold the pie together. The subtle lime taste is authentic and not overpowering like those fake-tasting, fake-looking key lime pies around town. I've also had their Peanut Butter Pie covered in chocolate and in a chocolate crust. Oh my goodness. Pure Heaven. Kenny's Pies put a smile on my face. =) read more

Kenny & Company, I was grocery shopping at my local Food Lion located in Inwood, WV. and your lovely green label on a Peanut Butter Pie caught my eye, I dont know when or how your AMAZING pies became available in my area, but Kenny KEEP THOSE PIES COMING!!! I'm not one for key lime pie but my finacee is more in love with it at times then he is with me! So I grudgingly made a trip out to Kenny's to pick him up a little treat, but when I arrived to my surprise they also sold chocolate creme pie! Score! The location is not an actually bakery shop, more like the company headquarters. When you enter there is a tiny window where you purchase your pies though, and they only accept cash or check. The treats come frozen so you have to wait a bit for them to thaw out. The Mr. raved about the key lime pie, although I didn't taste any. The chocolate creme pie..well that is another story!! It was super rich and creamy, but there was something about the crust I didn't care for. All in all 4 stars for the key lime pie, which must have been good! Being a connoisseur of all things decadent, I have to admit that Kenny's Great Pies has the BEST Key Lime pie I have ever tasted. The crust is a perfect combination of graham and butter, a sublime marriage of crunchy and light. The pie filling has the most unbelievable creamy texture. It is just thick enough to stand on its own, but so creamy it melts in your mouth like a fine Belgian chocolate. The Key Lime flavor is absolutely divine. There is not even a hint of aftertaste, reminiscent of chemically based pie flavor. The lime is fresh and tart with just a touch of sweetness. Absolute perfection! I also tried their new addition, the Chocolate Creme pie. Holy moly, people! What a delight! The crust was the same as the Key Lime, just delectable, and that chocolate creme filling! Wow! The texture was creamy and mousse like, with less air and more chocolate. Every bite was better than the last, and for a mere $7, you can take home one of their tasty, yet "cosmetically challenged" pies. I don't know about you, but I am not attracted to pie by way of looks, but flavor, and the flavor here can not be beat. Honestly, I would not call these cosmetically challenged at all. I thought both of the pies looked great and would not know the difference between an imperfect and a regular pie. Well, these guys are gonna be my downfall: Kenny's has expanded their selection by adding chocolate cream pie with regular and chocolate graham cracker crusts. When I stopped by last week, there was actually a list of about 8 kinds of pies but I can't remember them all now. Costs seem to have gone up a bit and the "cosmetically-challenged" seem to be less available. The regular sized small pies cost me $8. Oh well, that's fine. Well worth the price. Hands down the best key lime pie I have ever had (outside of the one at Houstons Restaurant). These tasty little treats are pretty cheap. While I didn't actually go to the building to try them out, I was hooked once I got the chance to sample Kenny's pies. I bought the pie from a Foodtown in Red Bank, NJ. My expectations for a grocery store bought key lime pie are typically low, but this pie is delicious! The crust is very good and the filling is just the right flavor and texture. It's not too sweet, which I find many grocery store pies to be. This pie was such a pleasant surprise. I love Kenny's Key Lime Pie. I first had it while living in Atlanta and was knocked out. My very clever spouse tracked down the Kenny's and once back in Washington state, we periodically order a half dozen of the pies next day shipped to us. I especially enjoy eating them in the dead of winter as a reminder of better weather to come. They make spectacular take alongs to dinner parties or potlucks, eliciting moans of pleasure. Have you ever been to Ted's Montana Grill, Atkins Park, O'Charley's or any Longhorn Steaks in Atlanta and had the key lime pie for dessert? Well, you're smokin' crack if you think they actually make that pie but you have to admit that it is REALLY GOOD! I did a bit of sleuthing (pays to know the owner of some of these establishments) only to discover that one company HERE IN SMYRNA makes them! Kenny's Great Pies (formerly known as "Kenny's Key Lime Pie") has a long history in the Smyrna area. They're now located in the business district of Highlands Parkway between South Cobb Drive and the East/West Connector and get this, folks...THEY SELL TO THE PUBLIC!!! That's right! You can stop by there (during business hours) and pick up a pie for that dinner party or holiday dinner! You can't tour the facility so don't go planning a huge field trip for your third graders. As a matter of fact, you can only go in the front door and there is a window where you order your pie, pay the person your cash and they take it directly out of the freezer and you're back on the road in 2 minutes! YELP HINT!!! Ask for the "cosmetically challenged" pie and you can get it for $7/pie! Don't be a freakin' snob people. Admit it that you have actually bought "irregular" clothing before and you had to search to find what was wrong with it! You may find that a "cosmetically challenged" pie has a small crack in the (sinfully delicious) graham cracker crust or that the pie filling is a little off centre. Your guests will never know the difference and if they do, shove a fork full of key lime in their PIE HOLE and they'll shut up in no time! They also carry a Mango Pie for those of you who don't care for Key Lime and I think those are $1 more (cosmetically challenged, of course). I've not had that one so I can't speak for it's quality. But for the key lime? One bite and your mouth suddenly develops its own gravitational field. You cannot eat just one bite! If you're on a diet, just allow yourself one indulgence and you'll thank me. You'll be the star of your holiday party if you show up with one of these pies! If you're traveling for Thanksgiving or Christmas, you can easily ship them as they're already listed in the "Freezes Beautifully" section of your favourite cookbook! Seriously, this not-so-well-kept secret is a gem. Your guests will be eyeing that pie at the dessert table like a cheetah eyes a gazelle with a limp. Go get yourself 2 or three for the holidays! I work 10 minutes from Kenny's but didn't hear about it until I was eating at the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City in Tampa, FL. I had a delicious key lime pie and asked the waiter if they made it in the kitchen. He said, "Don't repeat this but they come from Kenny's Pies in Atlanta." Well I just tried their peanut butter pie last night at Figo and it is the most perfect combination of sweet and PB on an Oreo- type crust with chocolate ganache on top that you will ever put in your mouth. All I can say is the sun rose, theheavens open wide and I was complete. The meeting host gave me a couple for the road and, while I ate the first one at home, I searched the net for local vendors. And what did I find? Kenny's pies are made in smyrna, GA... a short drive from anywhere in Metro-Atlanta.
