This place could be great and it seems they are nice people and trying to provide good service, but unfortunately my recent visit left me not wanting to return. I went on a Friday evening after work. I called ahead earlier in the morning to see if they had availability, and they were very nice and able to fit me in. I get there and the place is actually fairly empty - there were several people finishing up and at the drying station, and there were maybe two other people there that were getting started when I arrived. The pedicure was great - the technician was very detailed and did a thorough job. However, the manicure is where everything fell short for me. If it weren't for how great the pedicure was I would give this place 1 star. The technician was rushing through the entire process of doing my nails - she rushed through the application so much that she kept running over the side of my nail and having to clean it up. She also didn't really seal the tips very well, and thus here I am with chipping on several nails only 3 days after I got this done. To top it off, she still left nail polish on the skin part of my fingers in several places and didn't check to clean that up after she finished. Needless to say, I'm a bit irritated that I paid $45 (not even counting the tip) for a mani/pedi and the manicure was not done well at all. I probably should not have even left a tip but I did anyway just out of courtesy. Perhaps more staff is needed, because it's unacceptable to rush through the service in that way. I went here for a bikini wax as it was closer to my location. NEVER. AGAIN. The woman started off with a wax that didn't mesh well with my skin nor the hair being removed. I've had several waxes before, none have ever been as painful (she went against the direction of hair growth) or left me bleeding. I stopped her before she was done because the wax she was using wasn't even removing all the hair. Granted, I understand ALL the hair is rarely removed, but there were sizable patches. To add insult to injury, I limped to the train and was wearing the biggest pants I could find for the next 2 days due to bruising. My experience was a complete disaster. First off, I will say that I like the people who work there. They are very friendly and the customer service is good. With that being said, as much I like them, I cannot give them a very positive rating. When I walked into the nail salon there were two people in there. Basically it was empty so I thought that it being after work I should be able to get out of there fairly quickly. I wanted a no chip manicure and pedicure.....MORE THAN TWO HOURS LATER I was finally done. Only one other person had come into the salon since then. It was ridiculous for this place being a ghost town. Even one of the employees who works at the front desk expressed his surprise (and disgust) that I had come in at 6 pm and not left until after 8 pm. The girl who did my nails was nice but talked my ear off. That would have been fine if my NO CHIP manicured hadn't CHIPPED three days later! I was getting my nails done to go out of town and therefore I could not get my nails fix since I was on vacation. I had to look at my chipped pink polish for a whole week; regular manicures last longer than three days! I am very disappointed. For the amount of time that I was in there and the lack of patrons, the quality of work should not have been so sub par. I will not be returning here ever again. Will not step foot in this place. I purchased two vouchers today from Travel zoo. I called to make my appointments and everytime I called someone picked up the phone and hung up. After 10 attempts, the guy who answered the phone explained that they have been very busy. When I begin to tell him that it was unprofessional to just hang up on clients, he hung up in my face. Came in because of the positive reviews. Terrible pedicure! Who cuts the cuticuls AFTER the pedicure. My Cuticals were cut when my feet were dry!!! My toes hurt and feels like tiny cuts everywhere. Cuticals are best cut when your feet have been soaking not after they have been lotioned and dried. Never coming back to this place. read more

I went to this salon based on the below reviews....however I have to wonder where these people have been going because Nail 2ne1 Spa is not even close to even a mediocre nail salon experience I have ever had. It was nice that I got in right away....however the foot baths were not clean, the chairs were old, the person who did my nails was pleasant but didn't pay much attention to detail. I had a nail that was cracked and I had to point it out right before he applied the polish. The foot massage was more like a delicate skin rub. The staff were pleasant but the environment wasn't as nice as the many other places I have experienced. It was only 45 for both manicure and pedi....thank god it was cheap....it was worth just getting my cuticles trimmed and callouses softened for a bit....I will have to change my polish tonight as they sent me away with a smudged big toe from the Saran Wrap that they put on my toes and a nail tip that didn't get full coverage of the color. read more

I wanted to love this place, but it fell short a bit. The staff seemed to work meticulously, but when I got home I noticed that they didn't polish evenly (there were streaks on my finger nails) and there are small bumps like maybe nail file shavings that were painted over on my toes. The staff was kind and I felt pampered but I wish I was happier with the results. I will probably try it again because people seem to love it there, maybe I just had a bad technician. read more

I live super close so I thought I'd go in for a wax. I just had her do my lip and chin. This was, hands down, the most painful wax I have ever received. She would pull half the paper off, say oops, and pull the second half off. It is not comforting to have someone with hot wax on your face continuously saying "oops." Great nail salon in west loop. Everyone who works here does a really nice and thorough job and my nails always look great! The staff is super friendly and the salon is very clean and professional. They have an awesome color selection and great specials! I have never had a long wait as a walk in after work but they do take appointments. Don't forget to bring cash for a tip! read more

Went her on a Saturday and the place was empty, which for me was a huge plus because it was calm and quiet, and I was able to be seen right away. Because they are located in West Loop, I'm guessing the weekdays are jam packed especially during the lunch hour and after 5pm. The place is very clean and has great chairs for pedicures. Another plus is that you can reserve your own box for your own file and callus buffer free of charge. At the end, they also give a quick shoulder massage which was a nice touch. One downside was that the cuticle clean up wasn't the best. The overall experience was good though and I will be going back. read more

I would say it's definitely clean, but not the best manicure/ pedicure. They barely touched my cuticles even after I had to ask for them to be cleaned... I thought that was a normal service with any manicure pedicure. Other than it's clean I'm not really impressed. read more

I bought a voucher for a mani/pedi through travelzoo and made an appt when I needed it... and I really wanted to like this place. I walked in, and the whole staff was smiling and really nice. I picked a color I loved.. and my girl pretty much zipped through the pedi - and didn't fully clean my toenails. Unfortunately, the NEXT day, 3 of my fingernails CHIPPED! I was bummed considering I had taken time off of work to get my nails done. If my nails hadn't chipped the next day, I would have gone back for the warm atmosphere.. but I will definately not be back. read more

I love everything about this place! Nice, modern, and super clean. They offer you a decent range of refreshments right when you walk in. You get incredibly pampered from start to finish, and they will make sure that you do not have to do anything that might ruin your nails. The technicians all very warm and friendly, and they talk to you just enough to make you feel welcome, but not too much that you can't get some quiet time if you want it. My new favorite place! Shortly after moving to Chicago, I wandered into this little shop. What the previous reviews have said is true: it's very clean, the staff is friendly and nice, the attention to detail is flawless, and the price is right. I had one manicure with Jin and was extremely pleased. I went back to see her when I decided to get rid of the acrylic nails I'd worn for several years. Jin took extraordinary care in this process. I wish I could give no stars to this place. I went there a few times because it's really close to where I live. The first time they did ok. The second time, one of the ladies there started working on my nails. It honestly looked like it was first day at work...ever. Se was just filing my nails so slowly and looked like she didn't know what she was doing or what to do next. I think another one must've noticed because she took over and did a decent job but definitely not great. Last time I was there, the girl who did my nails was so bad it was almost unbelievable. You could literally see the layers of a thick nail polish. I told her that I thought maybe the nail polish was too thick but she just looked me like I wanted her to pay for my mani. I guess third time isn't always a charm. My suggestion? Go some place else or...do your nail yourself. I GUARANTEE they will look better. read more

This salon doesn't even deserve the ONE star minimum. I usually get my nails done in the suburbs for $40, which is pricey but always worth it. They last me up to three weeks without chipping and then after that point still dont chip but I get them done anyway because of the outgrowth. Anyway, here, they charged the same amount so I figured the price would justify the job, i was WRONG! I wish I would've just left after checking out their color selection, they have a very small selection and in the selection they do have, the colors just repeat. There were maybe FOUR pink options. The guy who did my nails did them so incredibly slow that I thought I should just take the paint brush and do them myself, i was there 1 hour and 45 minutes!!! for ONE no-chip mani! He didnt know what "almond" shape was, and when i showed him, he still proceeded to shape them differently, which I could've lived with if he hadn't done them ALL DIFFERENT SHAPES! there was no consistency with the shape and when I politely asked him if he could just make them match, i didnt care what shape he chose, he still couldn't give me that. Because of how slow the paint strokes were he left bubbles on my nails, which he then had to do a third coat to try and mask the poor job, which i was even more upset about considering they chip more easily with heavy coats. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse my nails were WET and STICKY after they were all done, the polish wasn't even DRY! He blamed the bad LED machine and had me repeatedly stay under the light and checked them over and over again until they were "dry" while the entire time beforehand he was telling me to take them out at the 2minute mark. Once my misery was over through that entire ordeal I was left with bubbly, different shaped nails, and a frustration level that was through the roof!! I made it very clear I was unhappy when I was paying and the two hosts checking me out could not care less. The guy was actually laughing and smiling at my frustration. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!!! I feel bad for anyone who goes in that salon and expects any sort of quality work. I will NEVER go in there and will be spreading the word to everyone not to step foot in that salon. read more

Most terrible experience at this so called business. Went in for a simple polish change on my feet and toes. When they told me the total price was $25 I asked to see their pricing menu, they were hesitant but gave it to me. As I was looking at the prices, it said "polish change $10" I asked why they were charging me $25 when it should be $20 and they claimed that a polish change on the toe was $15. No where on their pricing menu did it say that, only that a polish change was $10. When I calmly tried to explain to he owner how it is illegal to charge someone something that is not stated in their pricing, she became extremely unprofessional, shouting at me that "no one has ever asked about pricing before." I paid and left, it was no wonder why I was the only one in there on a Sunday. Worst nail experience I've ever had. Do yourself a favor and don't get scammed by these people!! It would be one thing if they apologized and gave me a credit, but to start yelling at me, a customer, for something they clearly knew was wrong on their part, was unacceptable. read more

I have gone to 2ne1 Spa six times for manicures and pedicures over the last 4 years, and every single time I wonder why I don't go there more often. The technicians are wonderful - perfect nails, massages, and conversation. The tools are always clean and they keep a box of tools for repeat customers if you want. The massage chairs for the pedicure are relaxing, and no matter which individual does the pedicure, you certainly get your money's worth, with buffing, exfoliating, scrubbing, massage, hot water soak, hot towel, nail/cuticle treatment, and finally an excellent polish job. For manicures, expect a relaxing and gentle experience as well, with a hand/arm massage, nail/cuticle treatment, extreme attention to detail, and a beautiful and long-lasting polish job. Most recently, I had a Shellac manicure done, and could not be more pleased with the results. I have never felt rushed here, and the technicians are happy to accommodate any needs. Highly recommend this establishment for any nail service. read more
