While I'm almost always happy with the quality of my nails, this is to advise new clients of my experiences. I moved back to the area after a long time. My mom has never stopped coming here because she has her person that never lets her down. I've been back for a pedicure and two manicures and I was unhappy both times. Even with appointments, I waited for 20 and 45 minutes to be seen. 45 minutes is unacceptable to me with an appointment. The pedicure I had done was rushed and the polish and cut of toe nails was sloppy and crooked. I do very much like the last set of nails I got, but did not like how I was being ridiculed during my time there. I was continuously being told to relax my hand/fingers because they were in his way, but I was relaxed...until the 3 or 4th time this was brought up, then I was irritated. A few weeks later I brought my granddaughters for manicures and me for a pedicure. I got the same wonderful lady that I got last time. I loved my pedicure. My one granddaughter's nails were crooked but she didn't want me to say anything because the lady was "mean". I guess the woman was less than friendly and she was afraid to say something. This place was not cheap so I wanted them to fix her nails but she didn't want the woman to touch her again. I obsessively follow nail artists on Instagram and never seem to be able to find someone willing to do anything creative. When my birthday was coming up, I researched "nail art Albany" and expectedly found Nail Art. The pictures on their Facebook sold me. I went in with a picture of what I wanted and it was recreated exactly (ombré ANC with cupcakes on two fingers). Most importantly, no one treated me like I was being annoying or asking too much, which has happened when asking for simple polka dots on one nail in other nail salons. Last night I went in again to get fun nails to match a dress I'm wearing to a wedding this weekend. The nail tech helped me pick the right look and was as excited as I was by the results. It didn't take much longer than usual and cost only $10 more (I've been charged $5 per nail for designs before!) I'd be willing to pay extra for nails this unique and beautiful anytime. I also find them to be attentive to details generally - every nail is filed to the right length and shape and double checked. Most importantly to me, my ANC was removed gently and the powder lays flat - sometimes it gets piled on thick and I end up looking and feeling like I'm wearing press-ons. It is clean, they happily take walk-ins, and they are warm and welcoming. It's a bit more expensive than other local places but if you want good, personable service in a convenient place, Nail Art is for you! read more

OK So I've changed my mind. I have stopped going to this salon for a few reasons; 1. they are over priced- they offer no coupons and charge extra for little things like shaping your nails a certain way. I feel if I am a continued patron of your business especially with all the competition in the area, I shouldn't have to pay for what I think is a standard service. I paid 30$ not including tip for a full set. And according to the signs on the wall, they are increasing the prices soon. 2. they don't provide a hand massage after a fill or full set. This is standard of almost any salon I've been to. A short, nice hand massage with lotion following by a hot towel. I've received only pedicures from Nail Art. They have been hit or miss. The very first one I received was excellent. I am so upset I didn't get the girl's name to book appointments with her. I went an additional three times and the pedicures haven't been of the same caliber. The last time I was there the lady was cutting my nails crooked. When I said something she had no idea what my issue was. The lady next to me agreed they were crooked and in "fixing" the issue the nail tech cut my nails SUPER short. The young guy working in the front is always friendly, but the other women working there are more concerned with their Starbucks orders and bad fake lashes than actually helping you. The last two times I've gone, the older woman has done my pedicures. She dug too deeply into my toes, claiming she was fixing ingrown nails. I really like this place over all, everyone is very nice but I did leave a little disappointed today. With Halloween being a few days away, I wanted Halloween nails for the parties this weekend. I wanted black nails with a gold accent nail & one nail with a skull on it. He asked if I'd want a spider web and I said sure at least it's Halloween-ish. Well although my nails do look good over all, the nail doesn't look like a spider web at all. I had a man do my pedicure and my nails look nice. My cuticles were trimmed. The polish and pedicure look nice. I was informed he had an appointment and someone would do my nails. I've never had ANC before so I decided to try it. A woman who was coughing all over put a mask on and rushed to do my nails my nails were not prepped or cleaned at all. I really needed my cuticles trimmed or at least pushed back and that was not done nor addressed. She took a drill and started filing over my nails and the drill bits were covered in residue and dust. I asked if they were cleaned and she said they were cleaned with alcohol but they didn't look clean. At the end of the manicure she smothered my nails on cuticle oil which I was allergic to. I didn't know she was doing this until my fingers started to burn then I asked what it was. I washed my hands. My fingers hurt immediately after and I thought it was the oil but here I am 2 days later and my finger are sore under the nails. My cuticles and nails look so sloppy. So sad I paid $40 and now I need to have them removed. Here is a photo. Well after talking to the manager, Kit, he yelled at me and was very upset that my fingers hurt. Then he threatened that if I had the ANC taken off my fingers would hurt more and the nails underneath would look terrible because a drill was run over them. So I went to Wonder Nail on Central Ave. The removal of the ANC nails was completely painless and as soon as the nails were removed the pain subsided. Maybe the tips were glued on too tight? I'm not sure but the pain resolved with removal. They shaped my nails, trimmed the cuticles and I have the cutest glittery French ANC manicure. I met another patron there who has been going for 9 years. She told me Wonder Nail also has great coupons in the clipper. I'm looking forward to going back to Wonder Nail. Also, a previous review was right, the old woman at Nail Art will fill your pedicure bath with cold water and she does put her hand under the water to make sure it's cold. That's exactly what happened to me this visit. Then I recalled she was the one who gave me a pedicure that chipped the next day. So this was my second visit to this salon. Low quality. I don't remember the name of the nail tech that did my nails (she is young and busty), but she did a great job. I got a regular manicure and pedicure ($36). I really liked the massage chairs and the hand massage, and I wasn't in the salon too long. The salon itself was very clean and they have a lot of colors to choose from. I didn't see that they had Weekly Polish until the manicure started, but the nail tech said the OPI polish would last all weekend. It's been 7 days and the polish is just starting to chip. It would be nice if they had a better way to show off their polish colors, I had to dip under and around 2 other girls who were picking out polish. Although the nail tech and I weren't very talkative, I thought she and the staff had good customer service. We don't have to be best friends, file and paint my nails right and I'm happy. The only issue I had was it seemed like the foot scrubbers they use might not be sanitized like the rest of the tools. My experience at this nail salon was one of the worst experiences I've ever had getting my nails done. I had a 6:45 appointment and I wasn't even spoken to until 7 p.m. All I wanted was a simple pedicure. A man led me to a pedicure chair and put my feet in water, and then proceeded to leave -- he didn't come back for 30 minutes. I had to sit there for 30 minutes with no one around. Finally, another employee came in and said "Oh, we forgot about you." He didn't even apologize. I was ready to walk out but decided to stay because I genuinely wanted a pedicure. The pedicure I did receive was sloppy and smudged even before I had left the store -- and they charged me $28 for a basic pedicure, after making me wait 30 minutes. My nail tech had food on his face the entire time and was extremely rushed. Heres where it gets even worse, it costed $35! IT WASN'T EVEN WORTH $5! my polish looks chipped and has missing spaces. As someone who spent quite a bit of time in cosmetology school, I can for sure say that none of the sanitary guidelines were followed for this manicure. 45 out of 10 would not recommend this place to anyone!
