I have a hard time even giving this salon one star. My daughter was in the area from Boston and couldn't get an appt. at her regular salon in Latham so she found this salon on line. After the first wash, her hair turned completely orange. I tried to come up with a solution that would be fair to both the salon as well as my daughter as my daughter couldn't get back from Boston to have it corrected and also did not want the stylist Beki touching her hair again (Can't blame her... I don't think anyone would trust her after seeing what has happened). The management would only agree to give back what would be a so called $80.00 service to me. We paid a total of $275.00 last Friday!!!HUGE loss for us as well as the worst dye job ever! Bad management. Would never recommend!!! read more

As someone who isn't originally from this area, I've been to a few salons in the Capital Region trying to find one I like. I've definitely found it! My stylist was Beki and she was warm, welcoming, and professional. Many people are good stylists, but I enjoyed her as a person! She consulted with me, asking what I wanted and then recommended what would be best. My hair was a mess with a lot of grow out from boxed dye and she helped me transition to a subtle blonde highlight to make my hair look blended. Great experience! read more

I have been to Namia Salon and Spa many times. The welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff and the mixture of classy chic is what we experience. I bring my mother to get her cut, color and style and she leaves very happy with the work done. Between Aiman, Taylor and Kristyn, we get flawless results. I also go in for my men's haircut. All I have to do is sit there and say "do what you think is best". Not only do you get your hair cut, colored and styled. They also look deeper into the health of the hair and scalp. From the moment I walked through the door to leaving with the best color and cut I have had in 25 years, the experience was wonderful! The staff was professional, warm and friendly. The salon itself was clean, cheerful, and a work of art. I had Aiman, but the other stylists assisted with the color and shampoo. We talked about what I do and the possibility of a new style. I walked out with a better color for my skin tone and a new style. I had so many compliments on the cut and color. I highly recommend giving Namia Dasa a try. I've been going to Aiman for over ten years (this review is looooong overdue). She's amazing. I'm the type of person who frequently changes my color and length, so it was import for me to find someone who was able to handle that. Aiman is definitely that person. She really listens to what you want and makes it happen! They also record what colors and glosses they use, making it easy the next time you go in. Layla at the front desk is also amazing with helping to squeeze you in if it's an emergency (I'm always switching up appointments....). Overall, I look forward to going to the salon because it's such a pleasant experience. I'm constantly getting asked by people where I get my hair done -- that's validation enough that Namia Dasa is the best place to go! read more

I went there after purchasing a groupon for a haircut, and I had a same day appointment with Becky. All the ladies were so nice and helpful. Becky was amazing; she was so easy to chat with, and a great stylist. I was very hesitant to cut my hair, but she made me comfortable and gave me amazing long layers that did wonders for the condition of my hair. Can't say enough good things about Namia salon. I had the BEST experience I've ever had at a salon. When you walk in, you're instantly greeted with a smile - they make you feel so welcome, and beautiful! For hair, I saw Kristyn and Becky are both sooooo sweet and talented. They gave me a keratin treatment (that changed my life) and a killer blowout with just enough twist, shine, and volume. They're super easy to talk to, but also no pressure to talk if you just want to relax. Best salon in the area! Beautifully decorated ~ chic and inviting throughout. The receptionist was very accommodating and made my wait comfortable as I was early for my appointment. After getting a terrible dye job at a different salon, I decided to go to a new place. I called that day to see if they could fit me in and they were very accommodating to my schedule, and when my stylist's appointment went long they called me to let me know instead of just letting me wait for an hour. I had Meagan, but other stylists also talked with her to see what was best for my hair, I wanted corrective color, a dramatically different cut, and to wear my hair naturally (it's really curly). Meagan, and all of the other stylists as well, were all SO friendly and welcoming. They really take the time to see what's right for you and make sure to give you a cut that fits your lifestyle. My hair came out phenomenally! I'm obsessed with how it looks! After having such a terrible haircut before it was unbelievable to me that I would love my hair this much! The cut is exactly what I wanted: exactly how I wanted it to look, and easy to style. And everyone I saw left with great hair as well. I got a call the next day to see if I still liked the cut and if I needed any further help styling it - I wish I'd answered, I'd tell her what a amazing job she did! I had an awful ombre hair color gone wrong that I wanted to get corrected and back to the blonde color that I had been for years. I found Namia Dasa after searching for Aveda salons in Latham. My hair was an absolute mess. I had dark roots, a light auburn color in the middle, and a horrible brassy blonde at the bottom. When I arrived at the salon for what I originally had thought was just a consultation, I was immediately greeted and offered water or tea. After only a short time (and I arrived about 30 minutes early) I was introduced to Asad. After looking at my hair, he said that it would be a lot of work but it can be corrected. After the consultation I asked if it could be done that day as I am impatient when my hair isn't right. He graciously fit me in and with the help of three other stylists, 4 hours later I was back to a gorgeous, natural looking blonde. I was so nervous that after all the bleach, my long hair would have to be chopped off. Asad finished with a dry cut, making my hair look wonderful and barely touching the length. I truly feel like the stylists at Namia Dasa are miracle workers and I love the fact that it is an Aveda salon. I was extremely impressed with the professional design of the salon and the hospitality and knowledge of Asad and the stylists. I definitely found my new salon!! read more

I happened upon this salon while home on vacation. When I called they were able to fit me right in due to a cancellation. All staff were welcoming, warm, and professional, and I was very pleased with the coffee they made to order. I have what I consider to be tough hair to work with as proven by the many cuts that seemed great in theory while talking to the stylist, but turned out to be all wrong. My hair is thick but very fine, is long and wavy, frizzes in the right conditions, and has some interesting cow licks here and there. Asad was very patient in speaking with me about my preferences, concerns and past hair issues and cuts. He really studied how my skull and bone structure affected the way my hair grew, the condition of my hair and indications for more appropriate products to produce the results I was looking for (i.e. soft volume while having less frizz). Asad trained another stylist while working with me, and I was impressed with the high level of expectation he had for the execution of everything in his salon, down to the excellent music that his own sister mixes and arranges. I've had cuts in salons in New York City and New Orleans, as well as other Aveda salons, and have to say that the cost of my visit was well worth the satisfaction I have with my cut and with the overall experience. I would highly recommend this salon to my friends and family and will be returning upon my next visit home. read more
