This place is terrible... sloppy work! Work may look good to a amateur but if you pay attention to details you will hate it. Nails are rushed even when there is no wait. The nail tips aren't measured to each individual nail, just measured on one hand and they think it's supposed to fit the other hand. Then tips are placed on you nail without care or precision. When tips are cut down to your liking they aren't close to being even. My nails on one hand is longer than the other hand. And since the tip weren't fitted properly, my full nail isn't covered with acrylic. Since some are my natural nail is exposed, these acrylic nails will come off easily and won't last. So I basically wasted money for absolutely nothing. DON'T GO HERE! Plus they don't have good customer service skills. It's not a welcoming feeling at any point of being there UPDATE! I tried them one more time just because I needed something quick. Here's pictures of what I received... DO NOT GO HERE! That old lady and man don't know what they are doing! They can't even work the register and add correctly. They always have to call someone else for simple things they should know being that they work there and that person doesn't know anything either. Let me start off my saying THEY TAKE WAY TO LONG TO DO NAILS I got in there at 4:30 and didn't get out until 7:56 and it was only me in the shop the person who did my Pedicure don't know how to polish correctly and the lady who did my nails didn't do them right and when I told her what I wanted fixed she brushed it off the man who told me he could do a design on my nails said he could do it but turned around and did what he wanted to do to my nails I WILL NEVER COME BACK THERE EVER TO SPEND MY MONEY. read more

KIM YEN MAI is so RUDE & she DOES NOT know how to do nails. The entire time my little sister was getting her nails done, I kept asking her if she liked her nails. KIM decided that every time I spoke to my sister, she'd but in our conversation to tell me that she wasn't done my little sisters nails. Once she got finished, her nails looked like shit. They were not coffin nails.. she literally only filed one side of her nails, constantly telling me that they were coffin nails. I have been going to this nail salon for over 10 years. I have always received awesome service. Needless to say, after the incident yesterday I will not be coming back. I had came in to receive a manicure and pedicure (for my birthday) and it started off fine. The lady whom was doing my pedicure at the time became very rude with another customer who was also waiting to receive pedicure services. She then became very rude with me after I had mention she was being very rough with my feet. I usually wait for Kelly but she was busy at the moment and it was getting kind of late. I then told the nail technician (the rude and unprofessional one) that I didn't want a full set on my nails. I felt like she was bullying me into purchasing a full set. I then said "I feel as if you have an attitude" and then she followed by answering in a very rude tone that I was the one infact that had the attitude problem. We exchanged a few words and I decided to just wait for Kelly to become finished with the eyebrows she was doing. A short few mins of waiting, The Owner ( Kelly's father) decided to comeover and start filling my nails down. I then told him that it was already too late in the evening to stay. He proceeded to tell me not ONCE but TWICE that if I were to come back tomorrow (today) I would have services for free. I agreeded to come back to place that I was so rudely disrespectfed at bc I really like the place and I figured we could just let bygones be bygones and I'll continue to come back and give them $100s of dollars of my money. Well, I arrive today around said time I told them yesterday which was around 6pm. Kelly was waiting for me and sat me down and started on my nails. She's a great technician whom deserves better than that place. Well when the time came for me to leave, she gave me a written slip of the amount due. At the time I laughed bc I literally thought it was a joke. I even asked her father (the owner) what was going on!? He then made me look a crazy liar and then pretty much ignored me. Happy Birthday to me! Lol I paid and still tipped Kelly. But I will never ever set foot in that nail salon ever again. MY whole entire family goes there throughout the year bc I purchased gift cards for Christmas and birthdays. Nope not anymore. Bad business. Will never go back. Well. I had come here to get a fill in by a suggestion from my friend. She said she's had nothing but good experiences. I went in and they were short staffed so he said come back in an hour. I waited an hour and finally they were ready for me. A lady sat me at her table and gave me nail polish remover to take off my polish. Now, I don't know if this is a new thing or what because I've never had to take off my own polish. The polish remover was in a cup with a nasty, dirty sponge that looked like it had never been cleaned. Anyway, she immediately started drilling away at my nails without making sure that I got all of the old polish off. (Which I couldn't due to the nasty sponge). She continued drilling, asked if I wanted my lip or eyebrows waxed, I declined. She then asked if I wanted gel polish. She said it lasts longer and dries quicker. I said why not so I got the gel. She didn't let me wash my hands at all during the process which left my nails with nail dust on them. I also was left with bumps on several nails from her not making sure it was evened out. Several of the tips of my nails are uneven as well. I asked for a design and got a few random lines on my nail and that was it. All in all, I won't be coming back here. read more

Went here as I needed a quick cut down and new color for a wedding this weekend. The long Ballerina nails in hot pink and glitter for bike week were not going to work. I wanted them cut down halfway and a new gel color added on top. I was quoted $20 for the gel polish and $3 for the cutdown. I also advised that I wanted a pedicure as the color would need to match. The man up front asked me to come back in an hour as they were busy and only had three people. No problem, I came back in an hour and MiMi took me. They were cut down halfway as I requested, but with all the filing and horrible shaping she did, they ended up right above my fingertips! Some corners are rounded, some are sharply pointed. Some are straight. Some are wavy. The gel polish is a nice color - even on my cuticles (which I had to remove at home as she didn't even seem to notice. She had taken it upon herself to sand down the black acrylic and glitter that I had on six nails even though I specifically told both her and the manager that I didn't need that done, that the new color could just go over it. Then comes the pedicure. She told me I needed the callus remover which I know I didn't since I had just had an pedi the previous week, but ok...gives me the deluxe pedi which should be relaxing....not. There was a client there with a screaming crying child who was too old to be acting that way. As they were short staffed? I paid $30 for a 15 minute pedicure!!!! The one with the screaming child's pedicure lasted while I was getting my nails done, during mine and as I was sitting there drying!!!! No way I received a deluxe pedicure. Then comes my own issue. I thought I had my wallet, but I could not find it. Wasn't sure if I left it in the car or at home...ugh. I told them I was going out to my car to see if it was there and would be right back in. The manager told me ok and made a joke that he knew where I lived. Before I could make it to my car, all three employees ran out after me that I was running out on them. Um...I was casually walking and told you what I was doing. I came back in and called my husband as I did not find my wallet. He was too far away at work still. So I asked if I could leave my Iphone 6Plus to run home and get my wallet or payment. The manager said ok, took my phone, placed it in a drawer and I quickly ran home, where thankfully I had left my wallet, and right back. I return and am ready to make payment and he just looks at me. I asked for my phone and he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. I was ready to ask one of the other patrons to call the police. The manager looked in several drawers and looked dumbfounded and said that he didn't have my phone!!!! Luckily, there were some young ladies there who heard and saw everything and they spoke up and pointed out which drawer he put it in and stated that they were my witness that I had given it to him to go home and come back. After this man and his employees treated me like a common criminal, he was trying to steal my phone!!!!! I told them I just wanted to pay for my services and that I would never be back in their shop again. My total should have been $53 - $3 for the cutdown, $20 for the polish and $30 for the terrible pedicure for which I still need to get the polish off my skin. He told me my total was $65!!!! I asked why the difference and MiMi explained because she had taken the glitter and black off. I told her that I told her not to do that and she did it of her own accord. She agreed to charge me the $53. I give her my card and? She charged me $54....**blank stare** Told her to take that $1 as her tip and that I would never step foot in their establishment again. That they treated me like a common criminal while trying not only to steal my property, but to rip me off on their charges and terrible service. I can only imagine how they have ripped others off who did not stand their ground with what the charges should be. I will be contesting the charges with my company. read more

Well. I am sad that I have to even write this review because when it comes to technicality of my nails, they are good. I went to this salon because everyone on yelp highly recommended Heineken for his nail work. Like I said, my nails look good. HOWEVER, I have NEVER had worse customer service in my life. Heineken started with an angry rant that he had a really rough day and "bitchy' customers were bringing in "negative energy." My mom and I were really just trying to get our nails done so we didn't react. My mom and I begin talking about what colors and designs we would like on our nails and Heineken stops doing my nails and says that he if I am going to be complicated and keep checking my nails he is going to mess them up. He tells me how nail technicians do not normally want to mess up peoples nails but when people start talking and getting picky, they get frustrated and mess the nails up. At this point my mom and I are like okay, ahah, well just let him rant because people recommended him. My mom and I keep talking, minding our own business and Heineken continues to talk about how he "doesn't give a fuck if I like them or not" At this point, he has cursed more than even reasonably acceptable, he also was really rough, at this point, on my nails. He also kept telling walk in's that he'll need a break and to grab a shot of tequila before he can do anything. it was funny and slightly entertaining in the beginning, however, there was a huge turn in his tone, and his manner that he was no longer kidding. Come to the end of the appointment and he writes down the total for my nails which was 48. The sign says 30 for a gel full set. Now he did tell me that to take off my old set it would be 8 dollars. Okay, so that's 38 dollars not 48. I also did not get ANY design. Plain teal nails. My mom also got her a regular gel manicure which was 35. So it should have been 73 for us both, however, he charged me 48 dollars. In short, our total was 83 dollars plus a 1 dollar credit card charge. By this time, I was fed up with how rude and nasty Heineken had been to both my mom and I that we paid, tipped, and left without a word. Owner's (Natalie) wife has nasty attitude and she gets attitude when using a credit card (she wants cash). I used to go there, she will nickel n dime you and tries to push extras on ya, dirty place, she has destroyed a great place. Wished owner Heinekin would take control again. My Daughter and Granddaughter went Sunday before telling me and they had really bad visit. 2 of the tecs were sharing tools on 2 different people without cleaning them, same nasty attitude, cut my daughter twice and blamed her, the one cut wouldn't stop bleeding and today it looks infected. Went today to talk to them and owner's wife acted like she did nothing wrong and that she didn't know. Bullshit, she was the one sharing tools and put septic power on the cuts. They didn't even have soap or the little brush at sink to wash hands. PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE....... This place honestly deserve a .5 rating. The only thing good about it is the fact that they're always available LAST RESORT. I went to get a mani, sat down to his station. He begins to take off polish (gel) and I assume through his intricate technique to remove the polish he came up with a price out of nowhere making my new regular mani a completely outrageous amount. I asked him to explain the price and where his prices were listed had nothing to do with what he was saying. I asked him to show me that listed price he came up with he immediately told me to go somewhere else because he don't need this. I immediately obliged and took my business across the street to Country Ridge shopping center where they were Awesome. And honestly will continue to have my business. I advise to spend your money and time there at your own risk. They don't appreciate your business and aren't even that good. And I graduated from Chesapeake and lived in Essex from age 15-22 getting my nails eyebrows and toes done there religiously. And they still act like that. The will never get another dime from me or anyone I know. They are very arrogant and I repeat THEY DO NON APPRECIATE YOUR BUSINESS THEY ONLY THRIVE BC ESSEX IS A SMALL TOWN AND THE LOCALS ENDORSE THEM! I advise everyone to stay clear of this place. I went here with my friend as a last resort because my regular nail salon was extremely busy. The scenery isn't too impressive. It's kinda small and cluttered and the furniture looks old. Once I got in the chair, the nail tech asked me if I wanted my toes or eyebrows done. I told her no thank you, i just wanted nails done. As she slowly and very clumsily did my nails, I could tell she did not know what she was doing and had very little experience. She was awkward with the equipment and put WAY too much acrylic over my nails. My nails were all different shapes and sizes and she barely tried to even them out. My middle finger nail was very noticeably crooked! She finished up with a very sloppy paint job. I had a lot of paint on the skin around my nails and she did not clean it up. I'm pretty sure this lady was not licensed and they brought her in just to fix their short staff problem, along with a couple other nail techs in there. Natalie is probably the only decent nail tech there. But she does keep her kids in the back and they sometimes run out and play and make noise (they are very adorable btw!) but I counted about 5 or 6 of them... But anyways, let me tell you, these people are GREEDY! They love to suck the money out of you and they are persistent as hell. After I declined her offer of eyebrows and toes about two more times, she insisted that my friend get her eyebrows done because they were "very messy and needed work". But my friend had just got her eyebrows done a couple days ago by another salon so clearly the nail tech was just trying to get her money. And get this, when she was finishing my friend's nails she said "you forgot to tip, I require a tip so you need to tip" .. Wowww .. How professional. And on top of that, once I took my acrylics off, my natural nails were GREEN! Come to find out it was bacteria caused from dirty equipment. STAY CLEAR! read more
