So disappointed. Wanted to like this place, but it turned out to be probably the worst full set acrylics I've ever gotten. Right off the bat i noticed the shape was...strange. They were wider than my actual nail, and not shaped well to fit the shape of my nail bed. But i let that slide. There were also a lot of bump as if they weren't smoothed well enough. Within 2 days of getting the nails, the top coat and some of the chrome dust had come off, and more of the shaping started to change! I called in and told them i needed to come in to get this fixed. I went in today to get it fixed and I'm beyond disappointed. I expected them to fully shave off the polish, reshape the nails and then reapply the polish on well shaped nails. But no. They had what looked like someone's teenage daughter "buff off" the top coat and reapply it, over the messed up shape and missing chrome. I thought the owner or the person that actually did my nails would come take a look to see what needed to be done... but they didn't. On my right hand, the girl tried to fully buff each nail and reapplied the top coat. On my left hand, she barely buffed the tip of each nail?!? Then applied top coat on nails missing half of the chrome.... Just wow. Photos attached are AFTER going back for the touch up today. Safe to say I won't be back. Waste of $75. read more

Called on a Saturday afternoon for availability for walk ins and they said to come by in the next few minutes. We were seated right away for two regular manicures. My nail tech did a great job prepping my nails. Hand massage was great. Nail polish is smooth and even. They had us pay before the polish went on so we wouldn't risk ruining our nails after. Regular manicure was $25 before tip. Dried under a fan for 20-30 minutes and we were on our way. Very happy with my manicure. Efficient and friendly service. read more

I recently came here for a gel pedicure with my partner. I called the morning of and they said we could get in for appointments anytime that day so we picked a time and it started off as a really good experience. The place seemed clean and the service started out friendly. Halfway through my pedicure (about 30 mins in), they made me move from my warm seat and warm basin of water to a cold seat with no water and away from my partner. They made me move because another couple walked in who was clearly deemed more important to them. It was an interesting customer service decision when they could have just told me a different appointment time if they couldn't take us at that time or made them wait a few minutes for two open chairs together since we had been settled in there and were close to done. I had to walk across the floor in my bare feet which made me uncomfortable. I was thinking this would be my new regular pedicure place and started off really excited about it but it was a frustrating experience to be treated as worthless compared to them. They also were greeted with champagne and it's disappointing to watch how they treat different customers so differently. But overall the actual pedicure was well done and my nail tech was nice, I just didn't appreciate how I was treated here and I am a little bummed because I initially thought I found my new favorite neighborhood nail place. read more

Got my first pedicure here! The team was very nice as it was my first time with this experience. Picked out a colour, got my seat adjusted with the right setting, and walked me through the process. My feet have never been happier! The colour is still fresh even after a week and hasn't vhipped at all. I had a broken nail so I was needing a fill. I know white can be tricky, but I felt I was rushed through a bit.

Got a standard mani and pedi. Both were of lower standard compared to other salons. My cuticles were dry and needed a mani as soon as my lotion was absorbed. I didn't get polish on my fingernails, so the cuticles should have been stellar. They were not busy when I was in, with only a couple other clients. The polish choices were also very minimal, outdated, not a lot of neutrals nor seasonal colors, and were a mix of mostly low-grade brands. I will not go back. read more

They had many regulars come in while I was there. Upon arriving home and putting on my slippers I noticed some cuticle damage on 1 toe, I hadn't noticed earlier since I was wearing sandals. How sad that after getting a wonderful manicure [w/ manicurist "B"] on my first visit in August, my experience yesterday [w/ manicurist "H"] was so very disappointing. Both the manicure and pedicure were mediocre at best. I was charged $67 [including a $2 charge, for a nail kit for my next appointment.] Not only did Manicurist "H" not clean under my finger nails, but the nails were uneven. I cannot recommend this establishment and I will not be patronizing them again. read more

I walked in with no appointment desperately hoping I would be able to get my nails done as I found myself with some extra time this afternoon. I was super glad they could get me in right then and there. The man who did my nails, Min (I think, it was tricky to hear) gave me one the of best gel manicures I've ever had. He was so detailed when shaping my nails and got them exactly the way I like. They look absolutely perfect. At one point I apologized because my arms were shaking from a workout the day before and I'm not sure if that's what prompted him to finish the service with the BEST and longest arm massage, or if that's just the norm, but WOW I am so insanely happy. UPDATE: my love for nail atelier has only grown over the years. now that they've reopened & following CV19 guidelines i'm still going in every few weeks for acrylic/gel manicures and pedicures. every single tech i've had there is wonderful. fun fact: i had a first weekend getaway trip planned with a new boyfriend and chris went above and beyond to sharpen my stiletto tip nails into tiny sharp points (aka 10 weapons!?) that COULD have been used if the new boyfriend turned out to be a serial killer. how's THAT for five-star customer service? update on THAT: he was not a serial killer. but, he did turn out to be a narcissist so we are no longer together. who cares, my nails still look fierce and sexy. thank you, nail atelier! read more

Every one of them does an excellent job, but lately Kris has been doing my nails and it always looks perfect and lasts. Very gentle handling which is good cuz I've left places in the past with my fingers cut and/or bleeding. acrylic set is never chunky or uneven, I leave with my nails looking like I grew them out myself! they are happy to get it just right for you and you're never there all day especially if you make an appointment. VERY standard and basic nail salon, not trying to be anything too fancy- simply a hole in the wall nail salon. THE best value in Portland. Inexpensive, able to do fun art (make sure you say this if you make an appt!), and quick. My ONLY issue is they NEEEEED more shellac colors. The woman who shaped my nails did it so badly my nail Bed is pulling up and lifting not to mention the nail it's self is uneven And wonky looking my nails look awful. The fact she knew it was such a bad job she asked for payment before she even finished and made it a big deal . At the last minute I just asked for a normal polish instead of gel. I decided to give this place another chance, because the location is so convenient, and they had walk in availability when I really wanted a manicure...and it was the best shellac manicure I have ever had! Normally, my shellac lasts about 9 days before it's starts to come up on the edges and then chip off, but this one lasted over two weeks in perfect condition. I noticed my nails weren't even when I left. I got a full set and was wanting some pampering after work. The experience was fine but I think overall the nail tech was rushing and some sides of nails looked like they needed to have been filed down and other nails had dents. Don't know if I'll be back.
