We visited this salon based on the Yelp reviews while visiting Portland. The place was busy and we waited about 30 minutes. Even after the wait, my manicure and pedi are took more than two hours. Turns out that I had a nail tech who didn't really know how to cut nails properly and so it fell to another person to cut cuticles and nails but she was busy. The staff were very nice and sweet, overall, but the frustration of having to wait and wait until someone else was available made the whole situation really frustrating. Two hours for a regular manicure and pedicure was really too much. I am not sure if the person who was assigned to me was qualified to do the work in the first place. I wish them luck. read more

I think this was my best manicure I've ever had. Most impressive was the removal. I hate removal for fear of techs having too much friction from the drill and burning me. I was amazed that Diana was able to remove everything so quickly and efficiently with no pain whatsoever. Secondly she did the best job I've ever seen applying the dip. It is done so evenly and definitely holds integrity wo being too chunky. Third, she did great on the shape. I wanted stiletto but my nails were too short for that. She still did a wonderful job making them on the pointy side of an almond shape. Fourth the salon had a decent dip variety. I've been struggling to find a salon with a lot of dip options. She checks in a lot through out the process to see how I'm liking things and is always happy to make little changes. I'm in love with this location, my gel nails came off, and they reapplied them for free, I just had acrylics done, and I love them. I'm pretty hard on acrylics, considering I'm an artist and work with my hands. I'm almost on a week two and they're still strong and not peeling at all. This is the only mail salon I will go to in Portland. I'm VERY particular about my mail care because I'm terrified of nail fungus. Radiance is clean and the nail techs are very careful and attentive. I searched for a long time trying to find an affordable nail salon that had good reviews, so I'm so glad I found this place! Katie did my original acrylic set with gel polish. What impressed me the most was that she was so meticulous. She measured each nail to make sure they matched each other. And she also shaved the top of the acrylic down in order to make them thin. I've had thick acrylics before and it's super irritating. So I was super happy with my first visit! The price was a what I was used to paying (I paid $61 total -- $56 plus tip). My second trip for a fill was great as well. Ryker did my nails this time. He was a wiz with the drill! He shaved off the gel polish with the drill and I thought that was genius, instead of soaking it off. He also was very meticulous and took good care around the base of my nails when he was using the drill. He even shortened the length and kept the shape I wanted. Plus the service was really fast: I was there for an hour and a half. Granted, it was a weekday afternoon so they were slow and took me right away. It was about $20 less than the set. Disappointed. Paid $82 (pre-top) for a shellac mani-pedi -- which is about $25 more than what I usually pay on 21st. The massage was more like scratching my legs. The salt scrub was seriously painful. Hardly any exfoliation at all! And when she was done with my pedicure, as I was still sitting in the pedi chair, she started rinsing the bowl with toilet bleach cleaner. WHAT?? I was the ONLY person in the nail salon. She couldn't wait until I was at least OUT of the chair before she started spraying bleach fumes everywhere? I was scared she was going to get it on my jeans and legs. Never again. I went to this shop on Saturday September 3rd and got a gel manicure. By Friday morning, one of nails chipped. Being that it was only 6 days, I went back in and they fixed it. The next day, today on day 7, both of my thumb nails were chipped. I have gotten my nails done for years now at other places and my nails always last at least 2 weeks. I don't even want to go back in to get them fixed because I was just there and they might act funny with me for their poor job. I have washed no dishes( I have a diswasher) or done any physical labor and they still chipped! I will not go back to get my nails done there. I have loved my nails every time I've been here. They always fit me in. My last gel polish lasted 5 weeks.

Yesterday I had my second nail appointment with Diana and each time I have left very happy! Both times I have gone in to get my acrylics filled, and their prices are extremely reasonable. My last fill(the pictures with the black French tip) was only $59! They do charge one dollar for a nail kit, which isn't bad at all. Diana is super friendly, funny and always honest about what she can and cannot do on my nails. Sometimes I have a lot of ideas, and they are not always attainable lol. Each time though we have come to a great compromise, and if there's something we can't do she explains to me why. I have made an appointment every time I go because I don't like waiting, but each time I'm there I have seen people walk in and get seated for service immediately, so an appointment might not always be necessary. They have water and tea and an overall lovely vibe in salon. This is definitely my new go to spot for nails, I am in love and I can't wait to try a pedicure here too read more

Great and attentive service! I called in the morning to schedule a pedicure and they were able to fit me in same day. When I arrived, I was seated promptly at my appointment time. I selected the deluxe pedicure and was given a thorough calf and foot massage along with scrub, mask, hot towel and paraffin wax. The nail technician was kind and careful with her work! I think that all of these reviews here are outdated. I moved back to PDX at the end of 2010 and this place has become a staple. It's always packed with regulars so I'm sure that others agree! After shopping around I found that Katie gives the best and cheapest Brazilians and they do a fantastic job on nails! For example, I got a pedicure before going to Europe for 3 weeks and after walking miles/day in sandals... My nails still looked fantastic and had no chips. I have brought several friends here in the past and we all agree that this place is a little gem. We always get the deluxe pedis and they massage your legs for so long. They are very attentive and take directions really well! They even convinced my boyfriend to get a pedi and now it's his treat after working long 12+ hour shifts in the hospital.
