A kid's hand showing light blue nails with a daisy design.

We on a whim decided to get pedicures and manicures they were a group of four of us and two of the nail technicians were standing outside as they watched us approach the door they politely asked us would we like to have service and we happily agreed that they were so kind and gracious the place was spotless clean and on a whim they completely gave our two children the most beautiful manicures, gave two Moms amazing pedicures and manicures get this in one hour it was incredible the customer service was incredible and they did a really wonderful job highly recommend. Oh, and they were already closing when we had walked up. What stellar customer service!!!

    Sports Mani-Pedi package with Nomi.

This was my second visit Midas and this time I saw Nomi for a Sports Man-i-cure. As a guy at a nail salon I did not feel too comfortable the first time I went there three weeks ago. So, this time I convinced my wife and our dog Madiba to accompany me as a moral support. My cuticles have been tearing up and really killing me and causing some undo pain that this manicure process seems to cure. Nomi was sweet and very accommodating to alleviate my discomfort and reassured me many men do come to Midas for manicure and even Peducure and I should try a combo next time. Well, I plan to take her up on it. Thanks Nomi. (Hope I got the name right. This is the tall and cute lady. (Tibetan/Mongolian) I plan to be back for the main/pedi duo next time. Cheers. Ghermay.

Tucked away on the 2nd level of a repurposed house is Midas Nails--more importantly, Miss Nia. I had just landed in Portland in town for the week attending a conference, and I was really hoping to find a decent place for a gel-fill. I was not disappointed. My nail tech Nia was amazing, fast, courteous. The salon is open late--till 8. The work was superior and I kinda wish I lived in Portland now. Le sigh. As a life long nail salon patron, I highly this salon. They place cool music in the background and have ample space. They also offer a large array of color options. I'm a fan!

    Natural nails after extension removal

My favorite nail salon in Portland! They're gentle and pay attention to details, the ladies are so nice as well. I came here for a extension removal and my natural nails were not damaged at all. They can also do nail art, I got exactly what I asked for. 100% recommend.

Updating my review to also mention that Holly is a great technician. I only go to her now!!

I got the BEST MANICURE EVER here! Normally when I get manicure, the paint starts to chip after a couple days. Here it lasted a full 5 days before it started MNIMALLY chipping - I was ecstatic! But let's get down to the important stuff: the massages. The girl who helped me gave me a foot rub that just went on and on and on and I couldn't have been in more bliss! Then on the manicure she really spent a lot of time massaging my hands and even went up my arms and rubbed my shoulders - chyeah! Plus they really did a great, careful job on my toes and nails and did some great artistic designs on my toes and fingers - 2 for $5 for a beautiful design. I don't know what all these hater reviews are talking about with the place being hot - I went on an 85 degree day and was cool as a cucumber! $25 gets you a pedi and $15 gets you the added mani - great deal especially for the location! And they gave me a punch card - buy 10 get one free! Really I can't recommend this place enough. Great experience!

Listen, you don't need to tell me if I "have a lot of calluses." Um, I know. It was winter, remember? And the only times I wasn't wearing boots and tights all season was when I was sleeping and showering, so give a girl a break. Ahem, anyways, other than their candid appraisal of the state of my feet, this is a nice little spot. It's pretty tiny which feels a little nicer and more relaxing than some of the other big nail places in town where they quickly herd people in and out like cattle. They've got a pretty standard nail salon menu with pretty standard prices ($25 for standard pedi, $30 for spa) and it's right upstairs from Vivace which is nice. OPI polishes only. I diiiid feel a little put upon to upgrade to this and that to which is kind of annoying, but no big deal and the girl did keep asking if I needed a magazine and I kept saying no and she finally just got up and handed me one. Girl supports literacy, I guess. Except it was Redbook. Redbook? Really? Do I seem like a Redbook gal? Okeeey. In summary, it's a cute and comfortable spot if you can take strong direction.

The most amazing customer service and attention to detail I've experienced in Portland. My wife brought me here as a surprise for my 30th Birthday. The staff is extremely friendly and so accommodating our experience was one of a kind. I got a pedicure and my wife got a pedi & mani. My feet look and feel amazing thanks to these lovely ladies. We're originally from LA and heard from a friend that this was the best nail salon in Portland. Midas Nail Spa is definitely the best! Thank you

Outstanding shellac with flower accent by Holly!
    Leela S.

Ask for Holly and you'll get a 5+ star manicure! I am a snob about neat, precise, full-coverage shellac manicures. At first I was sat down with a technician who seemed a bit less experienced--she did my filing, cuticles, arm/shoulder massage, etc. She used a kit (buffing block, cuticle clippers, under-nail cleaner) that was NOT sanitized and had clearly been used already. She kept pausing to text on her phone, and she did not understand "rounded square" no matter how many ways I tried to explain. The manicurist adjacent to us was doing a beautiful job on her client's shellac; I was ready to ask if she could please do my paint, as I was wary of my technician's precision and general ability. GUESS WHAT She was ushered out by my coveted manicurist, and she basically re-did everything the previous girl had done--filing/buffing, cuticle touch-up, etc--with NEW TOOLS and proceeded to give me the most beautiful and precise shellac I've ever had. She stayed well after closing and asked if I would like another coat for better opacity... She was even surgeon-like in her focus on my top coat. I had asked for a flower and her nail art was BEAUTIFUL and fast. What a pro! If Holly (the perfectionist) was doing my manicure from the beginning, this would be a five star review. I'm absolutely going back for all my next manicures, but I will be sure to ask for Holly. P.S. They have punch-cards that'll earn you a free pedicure!

Four stars for Kimmie's patience! I visit Portland every summer for work, and was in search of a…read morelash technician while here, and came across Miss Knockout (after analyzing many Yelp reviews + noticing her experience with Asian eyes). I opted for a textured volume cat eye style, and Kimmie delivered - they initially looked amazing. Now, here is the explanation for why I have to ultimately dock two stars. While we're still ironing out lash retention issues (my right eye seems to be shedding more quickly than my left one - maybe the heat and humidity of Portland summers is the culprit?), Kimmie has been understanding and has scheduled me in for quick touch ups. I understand Kimmie has an extremely busy personal and professional life, but for me to have to take time off work to Uber to her salon is also frustrating for me as well. Even after my quick touch-up, I am still experiencing some lash shed, which should not occur so quickly. A fan even shed the same day of the touch-up which is frustrating. I've never really experienced this issue with any other lash tech, from LA to Portland. In fact, after my last touch-up just two days ago, I have already managed to collect at least eight (!) more fans that have shedded. However, I feel bad about constantly contacting the salon for the same issue. It's probably frustrating on both of our ends. I just want to note that I am a back sleeper and extremely careful about not getting my lashes wet, even when showering. So I know that my lash care is not the culprit - I suspect maybe my lashes have not been cleaned and prepped properly beforehand. After reading other reviews, it seems like there is one other general consensus - perhaps the lash glue MK uses is not of the best quality, as retention is dismal. Also, another small issue that rubbed me the wrong way is that when I called, the lady over the phone offered a 10% off promo for new customers, but when it came time to pay for my service, the 10% discount wasn't honored. I would've used that 10% discount as a cash tip towards Kimmie anyway, so I think ultimately it was a small gesture that she should have honored. Oh well. Regardless of not honoring the promo, I tipped anyway, at the end of the day. On a positive note, the MK space is very well-appointed and beautifully decorated, with snacks and drinks for waiting clients. I appreciated this little touch and level of customer service. And because Kimmie is a hardworking business owner, I hope for the sake of her business that it thrives!
