The shop was busy but they didn't rush my service and my feet and nails look great! I'll definitely be a regular. My daughter has been going here for awhile and I'm glad I came along today. Although the staff was lovely and friendly, the salon itself felt dirty and the quality of service was unacceptable. My pedicure was one of the worst I've ever had. The technician rushed through the entire appointment, skipped multiple steps, and there was nothing relaxing or enjoyable about the experience. My manicure and pedicure turned out terrible, and I'm embarrassed by how my nails look. For the amount of money we spent, I expected professionalism, cleanliness, and attention to detail. And assure you several times that it can be done and never quote you a price or tells you how the add-ons are charged even though she viewed your picture multiple times! on the website gelx is $65. There are no options for add-ons and they do not provide you a menu when they ask to look at your inspiration picture. Very sneaky, somewhat hustling like it gave a high-quality experience but a hustling demeanor from the owner. When I told her the next time I show her an inspiration picture it would be nice to be told the add-ons in that moment instead of after the service she told me I needed to ask for a quote. I told her she can hustle like that not every one is okay with that. $3 for a kit that is legally required for the service. - cheap on the owners end. I don't like nail salons that don't communicate their add-on charges or provide you a menu until after the service is completely done. It's giving hostile and aggressive, and all of that could be prevented. Vietnamese is their main language spoken in the salon. I paid couldn't tip wish I could but the owner got the payment. I have VERY mixed feelings about this place. The manicure I got was very good but not great. I got a Gel x set that's was pretty but INSANELY thick and very obviously rushed. The tortoise shell design was done very well but these nails were a little crooked and just way too thick for Gel X. The bonding gel was so thick that is oozed out the front and she didn't clean it up. These were also 108 dollars (not including tip) after being advertised as 60. (I know the tortoise shell thing is considered nail art that's is three dollars a minute but an additional 58 dollars for a 7 minute add on is ridiculous) I think they looked nice and they asked a REALLY long time (probably due to being little plastic bricks) but I got some good enjoyment out of these. Just wish they told me that the tortoise shell would be an additional 50 dollars before she just jumped into it. Pretty cool modern looking interior but VERY loud music. Since my nails have grown out I wanted a fill and they wanted to take it off and do it all over again which makes no sense since I've been getting fills with gel x for quite sometime apparently if you get gel x here they remove it and reapply everytime. I usually love and recommend this place extensively, but I was pretty disappointed last time I came in. First of all, my fingers are SORE. I have both acrylic and acrylic nail polish IN my cuticles. The silver chrome isn't even full painted on, the gems are sloppily placed, and the design of the chrome on the other nails seems messy. The only other set that had me THIS disappointed and in pain afterwards, was a set that was $100 less than this. The vibe was fun and busy. Wanted to like Nail Lab PDX, but our experience was frustrating from start to finish. The technician seemed distracted and not very attentive to detail. The whole process felt more like they were trying to get through as many clients as possible rather than actually doing a careful job. The quality of the manicure didn't match the price. Our nails were uneven, the polish was streaky, and we noticed bubbles right away, which shouldn't happen with a professional service. Two girls named Trisha and Ann worked simultaneously on my hands and feet while I relax in a massage chair. I got exactly what I needed and felt fresh and clean. Complimentary drinks are available. I had hot green tea. There was another customer requesting red wine in another chair. My only complaint was the music being played. If you've ever been to Vietnam or other South East Asian Countries, the music that's played loud in street hawkers alleys sounds like Asian EDM. This was the same exact music that's played in the nail shop. I couldn't relax and feel comfortable. Luckily I had my earbuds listening to my own music. I was hoping to fall in love with this place and make it my new nail go to spot but it missed the mark for me. I visited on two occasions: First time- my nails turned out fine but the rub for me was the screaming child that kept interrupting my service. I'm guessing it was the child of one of the nail techs. My biggest issue was the kid kept throwing things, knocking into the person doing my nails, rolling on the floor screaming and it was largely ignored. At one point someone came over and put her in another room but that didn't last long. 2nd time- i paid extra for their upgraded pedicure-$85, the lady performing my pedicure seemed to rather be doing anything but that. At one point I asked her if she would rather someone else perform the service. She continued the service but barely did anything that was advertised in what I paid for. My polished looked horrible, I had to redo it 4 days later! I wanted a silver French tip and wasn't allowed to pick my base color or the silver I wanted. Instead I was forced into getting chrome (not knowing it was going to be more expensive. I just wanted silver). My thumbs are two different lengths and some nails are super glittery (not what I wanted) and some are chrome. This place is not good. I've gone here a couple of times and every time I get a pedicure I have to tell them not to drill multiple times. They don't listen, you really have to advocate for yourself. Also, the establishment is filthy. Not in a grungy way, just in a way where they don't clean. The floors, surfaces and machines are all covered in grime. They also add on unnecessary fees when you checkout. Even if you're in a pinch, don't come here. Also, they don't carry any products for nail health and care. I asked for hard as nails/protein treatment before my manicure and my manager told me they don't carry those products bc it's a scam mind you I used hard as nails to repair my nails from gels and acrylics. Went in while on vacation for a gel gold pedicure and gel gold manicure. The Vietnamese tech who performed by pedicure was a delight. She was always smiling and had a strong hand during the massage which I appreciated. The Latina manicure tech was not as nice. My manicure has bubbles in each nail, the edges are rough where the gel polish ends and during the exfoliation part, she didn't ask me to remove my ring and Apple Watch which resulted in the product all over my items. She also did not take the sample book away making me hold it on my lap the entire time. When she realized I was uncomfortable she made the comment "you can rest your arm on the pillow, that's what it's for" in a rude manner in which I replied "not with this sample book". The other issue is the salon is small with techs crammed in every corner. This resulted in the customer next to me who was also getting a mani and pedi, the tech, without my consent, just moving my purse and cell phones so she could use my arm rest to perform the other customer's nails. So I wasn't gonna write this review but I've left three messages for them and nobody's returning my call so here I am I went in to get a pedicure and a gel builder manicure and I worked all day. I spent extra money $85 on the exclusive pedicure. It started with the gentleman cutting my toe 2 times so that was off to a rough start. Then the gentleman came over to start my nails, and it was just not relaxing. He did not put a pillow under my arm. I had to ask for one. I was trying to enjoy the fact that I was paying a lot for a pedicure to get a massage but I couldn't because he kept telling me to put my hand here put my hand there like you should've done my hands after. Also he just kept asking me. Are you good? are you OK? You don't seem like you're OK it's like yeah I'm not OK also a picture of my nails literally five days later they're already grown out. The cuticles are terrible. They're lifting it's just not a good job and so much money. I wish I could get my money back. To be honest, I just felt like he was rushing because he had somewhere to go.
