I told her I wanted a regular gel manicure and didn't realize what she was doing until I went to pay and charged me for builder gel. She also asked me during the service if I wanted my cuticles trimmed.. which nobody's ever asked before so I stated yes they probably need it.. again when I see services charged -- $15! To trim cuticles --what!? She never said it would cost extra. Additionally never asked what shape I'd like my nails which are uneven. Needless to say I've never had to spend that much on my nails. She carefully listened to what I wanted and made thoughtful suggestions of her own. In the end, I got the exact cut I wanted (no "accidentally" going too short like I've had at other salons) and gentle highlights that looked natural on my blonde hair. No reason to look elsewhere when I need a cut or color again in the future! Then, luckily, I met Jocelyn! I'd never had my lashes tinted or lifted, and I decided to give it a go. This is very popular back in Texas and in other larger cities, but Melbourne hasn't picked up on this as much. Jocelyn is one of the few in the area that do it! I am so glad I did! My blonde lashes are literally invisible. Which means I ALWAYS have to wear mascara if I want to feel put together. But WOW!!! After the tint and lift - I can go au natural and STILL feel beautiful! When I was leaving that appt I mentioned that I like the eyebrow lamination look girls are doing these days, but that I have 90's eyebrows. Her response - I fix 90's eyebrows!!
