This is my second review of LE Mer Nails. After a brief renovation this Nail Spa is Above and Beyond. A totally new layout and new chairs and everything is top notch. NEVER AGAIN, GO AT YOUR OWN RISK. I went in for a simple manicure as I was passing through town. First of all, the place is dirty. Very dusty, instruments looked dirty, chairs looked like no one had ever wiped them down, etc. I was desperate so I stayed. I should have listened to my gut. The girl that did my nails was the receptionist, as in someone's daughter or Grandaughter. Within the first two minutes of the manicure I had to ask her if it was her first one ever because she was so unsure of herself and wasn't even cleaning my nails right. Then, after about 5 minutes, to my surprise she moved into the hand massage portion and proceeded to dump lotion on me and all over my very expensive KEEP Collective bracelet. She hasn't even finished cleaning my nails so it totally shocked me! I had to quickly take it off and clean the charms individually. Worst part? The leather band was $29 alone and it was ruined. Guess what? I just wanted to leave at that point and the manager SCOLDED me because she said it was my responsibility to remove my jewelry which was HUMILIATING and I didn't even have a chance to remove it because I didn't even know we were at that point in the manicure, it had only been 5 minutes! This girl also DUMPED lotion directly on it. So I got up after I cleaned my bracelet as best I could and you know what she had the nerve to say? "That will be $12" WHAT?!? She didn't do anything to my nails, ruined my bracelet and I still had to pay full price?!? She was soooo rude. Not to mention very gross, poor hygenine (she hadn't washed her hair in a week) and didn't know what she was doing. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Came here to get my full set removed, the man who did my nails ground them to paper thin and now they are breaking off and peeling back and I'm in extreme pain. They're honestly lucky I don't get a lawyer over this. Please do NOT go here. I told him multiple times he was hurting me and he blamed ME for having the acrylic on to long. I've been getting full sets for years and I had just put that set on a mont earlier and was getting it removed to let my nails breath. I went here for a while to get acrylics. I recently broke an entire nail off so I got them removed. The woman keep trying to file my non existent nail after I said "No, no please," and kept trying and giggling until I physically pulled away from her. I have gotten cuticle cuts every single time I went here, but they always had a chair open when others had waits, so I always came back. Now I realize why their seats were empty. The woman I always saw rushed, but got the job done. (Station 2, since they never tell you their name or even talk to you.) They also don't have any prices for anything shown. It's a guessing game on what your price will be for each technician. Sometimes you get charged for things and sometimes it double charged. I have since been to another sailing and really realized how bad this one was. The front desk girls are always nice though. read more

This was always my go to place when I'm in town. But my girl left and I keep trying new people there. Gone down a lot in 5 years. Slim selection of nail polish colors unless you get gel. The last girl I had argued with me that she had already done one of the toes on the first foot she had done. I had specifically watched for her to do the big toe because some techs will not cut the cuticle a certain way. I was watching and wondering if she would. So never did that toe and then argued with me she had. She then had an attitude with me the rest of the appointment which made it uncomfortable. I was very nice about it but she didn't like I questioned her. I do love they play great movies while you get serviced but the overall look of the salon is not what it was when I started coming here 5 years ago. Looks unkept. I wish I could rate this less than 1 star. They don't even deserve that much. Do NOT go here. I just spent $50 on a manicure and pedicure and it looks like a child who can't color in the lines did it for me. Some nails are square, some are round and they ALL have paint on my skin! Oh - and don't get me started on how my nails are 8 shades of pink darker than my toes THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO MATCH!! On top of that.. I felt man handled when my hands were aggressively put in and out of the drying machine. This is THE worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. If that's not bad enough.... The lady who did my nails did a great job . My problem is that when I walked in, I specifically asked how much it would cost to get a fill in for acrylic nails with gel polish -the guy looked at my nails and said $18. So I said lets do it- when it came time to pay the lady takes my card and says $33. I tell her that is not what I was told about the price, and her excuse was " sorry I'll have to explain that to him" ( implying the guy I spoke with didn't speak English very well). Then she explains to me that because I had 3 broken nails that that was an extra $3 and because I chose to get gel nail polish- it added another $10. My problem is the guy told me $18- never said about an up charge for the broken nails and never told me about the up charge for the gel. NOT GOOD BUSINESS!!!!!!! read more

Visited here while in town on Spring Break. Nice clean, bright salon. Friendly people. they even had the Blind Side (which had just been released) playing on the flat screen so my husband and daughter (who also got pedis) appreciated that. They did an ok job on my daughter and I, but my husband was disappointed in his pedicure-he needs his heels shaved to get the cracked dry skin off and all they did was use a pumice stone; not nearly strong enough for someone who is in combat boots every day. Our old salon in DC always took great care of his feet and I guess we were expecting the same service...definately a case of getting what you pay for. If you're in a bind and need a quick pedi this is a great place to stop in, but if you're looking for more than a basic pedi, go elsewhere. read more

It's nice to have finally found a place in this area who do eyebrows well and nails. They take pride in their work and have an excellent selection of nail polishes regular and shellac. The pedicure stations are very comfortable and they play quality films on the TV, not annoying day time talk shows (not all women watch that crap). read more

I love my pedicures more than anything and her creative art work on my toe nails always cause comments. The staff at the salon are friendly and it is immaculate. I have been going to La Mer Nails for many years. I have always been very happy. The owner of the salon , Wendy, is an amazing woman. I know she strives to do 100% quality work. I also believe the other girls ( who I know have been there a long time) do great work too. It's not always easy finding quality employees in this industry, especially when you are understaffed and overworked. I know because I myself am a hairstylist. I read the negative reviews and know that these instances are few and far between. I go to Wendy, but often have the other girls do my nails when she is not available. They do very nice work. I do recommend making an appointment. Then you know for sure they have allotted the appropriate time for what you need done. I give them five stars for their good work and kind personalities. pretty terrible... my pedi was 15 minutes long,. no massage , came in because was having a bad day ... ended up having an even worst day after. the women who did my pedi didnt even paint my toes or help up my shoes back on was rush and not what i was hoping for, the girl who did paint my nails did a good job. On a recent vacation I went to Le Mer for nails and waxing. While the nails was okay, the waxing was horrible. I don't think they knew what they were doing as she did no perform the Brazilian correctly, it was more like a bikini wax. The process took more than an hour and she was a bit messy. Perfect place for mani/pedi while on vacation. Clean and licensed. Henry was fabulous. I walked in and he took me right away. The nanny diaries was playing. The pedi chair was comfortable and reclined further than the ones back home. Leave the Amex home but bring visa or MasterCard. It's in a strip mall so there's lots of parking. $30 for a mani/pedi which included a hot stone massage, certainly can't be beat up north. read more
