Another nail store opened up in Circle C, and though I have had some good manis elsewhere, ones that I was happy with, I thought I would support the new locals. I was seated right away, but served within about 10 minutes. My manicurist came in from the front door with her big gulp and bag of food, and proceeded to get started on my hands. I was a little put off by the food part, but whatever. My final product was fair. Within an hour, I had peels, chips, and tears on the polish. Now, admittedly, I did try to hand a magazine to Aimee C prematurely, so the thumbs are my bad. However, the rest of the issues came after my nails were dry. I got the feeling that the quality of the top coat could have been better. The store is new, clean, and the staff is efficient. They even have a separate room for the smelly jobs, so the whole store does not stink of alcohol. The finish outs are bland and look as though they came from Sam's. There is also a loose cord emanating from the dryer to the wall, so someone could fall. That needs to be covered appropriately or fixed. If I were to try them again, I would prefer my nails to be buffed rather than painted due to the aforementioned quality issue. read more

I had a horrible experience at this salon. I had planned on a pedicure and manicure, but ended up only getting a manicure. To start the water was cold. The women was rude and rushed through my pedicure. My feet were not soft or clean when she was finished, and the pedicurist was annoyed when I mentioned it to her. From there the ladies seemed to be talking about me as all of them kept looking at me as my pedicurist said something I could not understand. I was supposed to have a manicure as well, but decided against it because of their behavior. This did not seem to bother them at all. I can't believe I've never been here! I live in CC and just never stopped by but so glad I did. I've just had the BEST pedicure ever!! I had a guy that totally cleaned out the cuticles and gave a great massage. Super cute place and clean. My pedicure was $30 which is the norm for Austin. I've been to this salon 3 or 4 times. Each time I have been extremely satisfied with my services. The staff are friendly, honest about wait times, and care about your opinion. The location is clean and you the option to purchase tub liners for $1. The last time I went I was not aware they were closing in less than 5 minutes. Two ladies encouraged me to stay and I received a shellac mani and regular pedi. My manicures usually last 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. I had my eyebrows waxed here and they were very nice. UGH! I walked in at 1:10 and was told to pick my color and someone would be with me in a minute. I had a limited selection of mostly red shades to choose from. Hello, it's spring/summer. Red is not preferred. I was then seated right away. The pedicurist did not start the chair message for me and the water was bordering on cold. Even after seeing me continue to try and figure out the chair she did not fix the chair setting. The woman soaked my feet for a few minutes, took the paint off and asked me which color on her work station was mine. This is all she said to me the entire time. She quickly filed my nails, rubbed lotion on my legs (not massaged), reapplied paint... done. She grabbed my purse & shoes and took me to the drying station. Promptly she grabbed her stuff and ran to her car and left. I was done within 30 minutes. Disappointed I brought this to the attention of the woman who checked me out. They apologized and took $5 off the price, yet women who got to the salon before me were still getting their pedis. I accepted the money off but will never go back there. I would have preferred that another pedicurist redo my nails, or given me a gift card for another visit, or half off the price (at least since I was only there 30 minutes). No thank you! Just recently discovered this nail salon between MoPac and Beckett Rd. Several months old, this salon is new, bright and clean with the requisite massage chairs( that still work!). I found the service to be friendly and pleasant and my French manicure actually lasted for almost a week( w/ applications of additional top coat). A rarity. After soaking in too many pedi baths till my feet turned white and wrinkly waiting for a pedicurist who would be with me "in a few minutes," my pet peeve with these type of salons is that they are inconsiderate of the customer's time in regard to how they handle appointments and waiting customers. It was not busy when I went in so I cannot comment on that at this place but it is great to have an alternative to Oasis. read more

This place is a joke so dont waste your money. I came here with my.daughter for pedicures and a full set. They didn't even bring us water or drink after they asked if we wanted something they never brought it. When we mentioned it , they got mad.. ok. So after the crappy pedicure, I got my nails done with sns for the first time with tips. So the guy was super rude that did my nails, and was using a lot of force doing my nails. The lady next to us was telling him to be nicer to me since I didn't know what sns was and she saw his behaviors toward me were awful and rude. The fact that this had to keep going on, I really just wanted to walk out and should have since he made me feel like crap and didn't want to be bothered with me. Just like the pedicure girl did. Then he kept getting up from my nails to tend to other things. Which made it take longer... Time is money. Finally when done... It was $200. And it wasn't until after I realized he didn't even do the design I requested originally on top of the nail, for extra... But the nails were also a little uneven and lumpy... And he had rushed us out to get the next customer. I will never go back here again, nor will I recommend them ever. $200??? That's half my car payment and it wasn't that great. Rip off, straight up. So when I left a review on Facebook, the owner/manager is arguing saying my review and comments are fake and I'm making it up. I really need to like this place as it's in my neighborhood but it seems like there isn't a DIME put into these places to make it the least bit enjoyable for the client. Have been about 1/2 dozen times & same CD is playing over & over every time. TV is always off - would like to have the news playing. Would it kill them to offer a nice bottle of water or a soda....these things don't cost much & would WAY increase the level of service so that we would WANT to come back. The place looks like it wasn't finished out - walls are sort of painted - wish there was a nice place with a teeny bit of customer service & that extra to make you want to look forward to a mani/pedi. I've been to virtually every nail salon in South Austin and Nail Bar is my favorite by far for several reasons. 1. The environment is warm, modern, clean, and friendly. This gives me the sense that the owners and staff take pride in their work, that it's safe, and high-quality. 2. The people are amazing. Super genuine, friendly, professional, and accommodating. Recently I messed up my own pedicure 3x! (embarrassing, but true) and they welcomed me back in and took care of it joyfully and free of charge. They remember their clients and treat them like family. 3. They really do have a "bar", a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks. It's not necessary but the special touches set this place apart. 4. Location- super convenient right at Slaughter and South Mopac. Easy to get in and out. 5. The owner (Mindy) takes a lot of pride in her craft, her business, and her team. She holds her team accountable and asks for honest feedback to help everyone grow. This is awesome. You can also really tell that they care for one another like family. They know how to run a good business too. Seriously, try this place out, tell them Amber (or Yelp!) sent you. I went to this nail salon yesterday with my sleeping baby hoping I could get a manicure while she slept. But as soon as I sat down and got started she woke up and began to fuss. I thought I'd have to just leave without finishing but instead the lovely ladies at the salon asked if I wanted them to entertain my baby while they finished up. So the staff played with my baby until I was finished and put her back into her car seat so my nails wouldn't get smudged. Then the owner-manager (?) even walked the car seat out to my car for me and put it back into the base! She assured me that anytime I wanted to get my nails done, to just bring the baby and the staff would help out with her while I got pampered! read more

I got a gel mani by Michael yesterday and it was awesome! My cuticles are perfect, my nails look clean, the gel is flawless, and the experience was amazing. For $35 I got a full mani, gel polish, paraffin on my hands, a should massage, are arm/hand massages. Best manicure I've ever gotten. Don't go if you need to keep your schedule or expect to have your appointment on time! I was impressed my first time but made an appointment my second and even brought my friend. They sat us down said it would be 5 minutes. 20 minutes later still no service. We drove 25 minutes away to get our manicures done. We finally just left. Wasted our time! I have to say I love it! I haven't had any issues. They do a good job on the manicures and pedicures but don't expect all the extras. They don't offer them to everyone. You can see the wine, the frozen drinks, the freshly baked cookies, the popcorn but they don't offer them to you. Also, your techs will make comments about you in Vietnamese. It is very rude and disrespectful. They need to realize that some people can understand them. Even if you don't speak their language the facial expressions and tone are a give away. read more

I walked in and was told that it would be 10 minutes. A woman started running the water in the pedicure chair and then walked away with the water still running. I thought that she would come back and turn it off....boy, was I wrong! My pedicure bath started overflowing. I had to stand up and shout to ask how to turn the water off. The water seriously flooded the floor. One of the workers got a mop and started to cleanup the water that was on the floor. She didn't even move my shoes that were sitting in a puddle of water before she started to mop. She kept stopping in the middle and putting the mop up against my chair. Could she have not used the other empty pedicure station to prop up the mop or asked me to move to a different station?!? After all that commotion, I still had to wait another half hour for someone to start my service. All the while, I'm sitting there worried about the chair that is plugged into the wall with electricity and the puddle of water that my pedicure chair was just sitting in. Definitely wasn't looking to be electrocuted while getting a pedicure! Another customer walked in and asked how long it would be to get a pedicure. They told her 10 minutes. She sat down in the chair next to me. I gave her a warning that it would be way more than 10 minutes. By the time I got out of there, the woman next to me and waited 45 MINUTES!!! I am a fanatic about a perfect pedicure! Unfortunately this place does not fit the bill. Hard push to upgrade services on an already higher price than most salons in South Austin. This place was horrible. The scrubs that they use are way to rough and when I told the technician she said no its not and then proceeded to bad mouth me to her coworkers. I had picked out a hot pink color and when the paint had run out the technician ran to the back to refill it and it made it a coral color. When I told her it was not the same color she said it would be the color change charge to change the color. I would never recommend this place to anyone read more
