I'm a curly-haired person who I got a scalp treatment. The place was clean. No one was unpleasant. I do wish the staff would have done more to explain the steps that they were doing at the beginning. My other complaint is that they had no idea what they were doing with curly hair during the blow dry part. No diffuser in sight nor any curl cream for finishing products. Usually love Blanc, but I had a bad experience recently (lumpy and thinly coated manicure, mismatched colors, getting stabbed and told I had 'fragile skin' while bleeding). I'm a waitress and my nails were chipped and broken after just two shifts. Usually they do a good job here so I'm disappointed with my past experience since I brought my mom with me. So I'm giving 4stars because Blanc quote nails wayyyy off of what is advertised. I am a regular and love love Steven's work however I just went in for a broken nail (although I just got a refill 4 days ago) to get a repair. I was charged $10 for 1 nail plus I gave $2 tip (as always I tip 20% or more) I noticed the price sheet said $3 for repair so I asked why are you charging me $10??? He just smiled and said because you have gel! In all, it's the principle... I was clearly over charged and that was not right to do this to me. I have gone to other nail spas in the past and they usually say don't worry we will repair just give a tip. This place is nice but I don't like to be taken advantage of. I'm giving 4 stars because ......1. If you get any other dip powder besides OPI ...your nails will chip away. 2. They don't tell you the price of the service you are getting until after you are done (hidden fees are added). Steven does a really nice job on my nails, I keep them VERY VERY short with dip powder. I've noticed my final payments would fluctuate every visit between 30 to 40 dollars! My last visit was for a fill, my nails are natural so I don't add any tips. Well one of nails were shorter so I was told to add a tip so they are all even. I'm thinking ok that's only about 3 dollars to add, well I was wrong! When I went to pay for the service ...the guy told me 40 dollars! How do you go from 30 to 40 just because I had a tip added on that I felt I didn't even need! I got a fill and nail art for $80٫ and Thuy made sure I left with exactly what I was looking for. She brought out the airbrush to get the jelly effect and was super meticulous. After our enjoyable lunch, I've always heard friends mention going to Blanc Beauty Bar salon, we also noticed the great atmosphere there based on the images.We decided to continue our great day there as our next stop. We were really excited for manicures and pedicures. Up until that point on, I met the owner (I believe her name was Tew or Thu or Thueey) of the salon. She was very rude to my friends and I. Throughout our services, we just weren't as comfortable anymore. We thought we could just let it pass, but the services there weren't great at all. My friend ended up with a cut and started to bleed. I got my nails done for a wedding here and asked for matte black. They looked great the first day but the next day in the shower they started coming off. I also got my toes done with a normal glossy nail polish and these stayed on and looked good. It may have been the quality of the matte polish but it was definitely not worth the money. read more

Very kind staff and nail technicians (who are skilled and attentive). "Blanc" for a reason! Very white and clean (with clean modern lines) inside. Nice music playing and a calm atmosphere. High ceilings and nice lighting (all of these factors really make a difference in one's experience!). I missed only one thing - for pedicures - the massage chairs with the back massage options. got a mani/pedi yesterday and both of my feet are fully infected - swollen up like balloons. they rushed everything and used the foot dryers for ours hands immediately afterwards? no hygiene practices here. i did my best not to touch anything and just hover for 20 minutes, but it was tiring. also, the nail work itself was painful - they dug too far under/around nails to shape. i was bleeding under two of them when i got home. the chairs also were not very comfortable and they overcharge like crazy. i can get gel mani/pedi elsewhere for 60% of this price - not to mention they didn't indicate there would be an upcharge when they asked if we wanted the "spa" version of the services. would not recommend this business, though the stylists themselves were kind people. read more

I had the BEST time getting a manicure here! Easily the highest quality manicure and customer service I've ever had at a nail salon. They were able to get me and three of my friends in for a last minute appointment to kick off our girls trip. We were greeted with smiles and glasses of champagne. What more could you want?! I'm sorry but I would not come here again. Everyone was nice but everything about my manicure was really bad. Filed them wayy too short, she gave me painful cuts on 3 of my fingers and then proceeded to file more on top of the cuts which hurt a lot, the shape is not really what I asked for and every nails shape looks different, there is bumps in the polish on every nail and the acrylic is extremely thick. I also didn't get a massage :( I really really hate to leave a bad review but it was one of the worst experiences getting my nails done that I've ever had. read more

I really like how they have all the polish in the back and that they really take their time doing nails and cleaning up extra polish from your fingers and toes. You don't feel rushed at all. Have been going here for over two months without issue. However, yesterday, I went in for a redo on my acrylic overlay. Instead of soaking off the acrylic, my overlay was pried off. It was very painful and damaging to the nails. My right thumb is still very sore. A new overlay was then placed on the damaged nails, which I'm concerned will cause problems. I don't even like leaving this review since my other experiences here were very positive, but I won't be back. I'm still shocked. Note: a girl came in toward the end of my appointment also for removal and her nails WERE soaked off-- I just don't understand why this was not done for me but was for her. Acrylics shouldn't be pried off, full stop. Make the time as a salon to soak them off properly for each client, not just some clients. read more

I don't like writing mid or negative reviews but I truthfully had a pretty less than ideal experience here. For a nail salon that markers itself as being upscale and lux doesn't deliver it's disappointing. My primary complaint is that I felt the staff wasn't very kind. For example, I felt chastised when after washing my hands they weren't perfectly dry. My nail tech seemed to get annoyed and huffy w me for that? Also my nails were painted the wrong color! I requested matching toes and nails - a metallic sparkly blue. When my nails turned out silver the nail tech could tell I was confused but brushed it off and said oh the gel is just lighter and shinier. I was confused at the time so didn't request a change but a day later and I can truly say they are dif colors. Massage is not included in the pedicure or manicure which I've never heard of. And when I asked how much a full set was I was told the price without color, which I felt was misleading. Amazing experience! I was in New Orleans on vacation and spontaneously decided to get my nails done. Not only was Blanc Beauty Bar able to accomodate me right away, but they also allowed me to add on services without issue. I got a mini pedicure and a mindful manicure. The whole process took about 45 minutes and the quality of the services was excellent. My manicurist was gentle and careful and had impeccable attention detail clipping every excess cuticle and checking his work often. There was a huge selection of colors for me to choose from, and I was able to find exactly what I wanted. My manicurist also kept up a lighthearted friendly conversation and made me feel so relaxed and taken care of. I will definitely be recommending Blanc to all of my friends who visit NOLA! read more

Every time I get my nails done in New Orleans, I have a great experience and my trip to Blanc was no different. I got a full set and a gel pedicure during my visit. The owner actually did my nails and she is truly a bad ass millennial boss! This is their second location and I'm guessing they may even expand the brand further. The salon is extremely clean. As the name implies almost everything is white. This is tough when you're dealing with a salon but it speaks to the pride they take in providing the best service possible. As much as I enjoyed my service, I waited two weeks before writing my review so I could see how the nails held up. They still look great. I'm really for a Dillon but there are no chips, cracks or signs of the acrylic pulling away from my natural nail. read more

Very poor job on doing manicure and pedicures. This is the worst place ever. They do a rush job and didn't even have dryer so polish can dry on toes since they should have done the pedicures first and then the manicure like every other nail salon.
