I am thrilled to share my experience with a beautiful pink French tip chrome Gel-X extension set that has truly captivated me. The chrome effect added a touch of sophistication, creating a mesmerizing visual experience that immediately caught the attention of those around me. The application process of the Gel-X extensions was seamless and professional. I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight and comfortable they felt, as if they were a natural extension of my own nails. I'm so happy with my experience! Zalak was so friendly and made my whole experience amazing will definitely be recommending her to my friends.

Highlights because otherwise this review would be ten pages long: --she's amazing and super friendly, even though I asked her if she could take me last minute nearing 8p for a full set (she does have an up charge the later in the evening it gets) --so easy to talk to --understood exactly what I wanted, and picked a perfect color when I gave her dealer's choice --did not comment on the heinous state of my nails when presenting them after months of neglect (I apologize in advance for the photos, but she really did an incredible job) --changed the music when I wasn't feeling the jams and didn't make me feel awkward for asking --overall solved every problem I've had with other nail techs and my experiences thus far with manicures

This is just a response to the owners' reply. My original review remains. I never expect anything for free. I also always tip regardless of the quality of work which is why I tipped you. This review is merely an unbiased review of the quality of work I received. I never expect work for free but you literally did a bait and switch. You never told me nail art was an additional fee. I told you over the phone I wanted to do a design and that I always do hard gel. When I showed you the design in person you didn't say there was any additional associated fee. This implies it's the same fee we already discussed. How is a hard gel fill $80 more than the fee for a new full hard gel mani with design that you quoted me over the phone? Any reasonable person would assume it's less or the same! You didn't spend any time shaping my nails and didn't even copy the design I showed you. Additionally, you DID NOT offer to fix anything. When I asked you through out the process, you said it was "too late". I would suggest instead of making yourself look worse, that you take this constructive feedback and grow.

Asked for a simple black matte manicure came out with a sloppy job. My 6 year old cousin could've done a better job. The nail tech had a book of stickers on the desk, so I asked to add one of her banana stickers. She didn't cut or shape my nails. She rushed through the coats with no drying in between sticker placement. The sticker is squished. She applied the clear black matte coat while the black coat wasn't even dry yet. Some of my nails are shiny, others matte. I was under the incorrect assumption you were known for your nail designs. If you can't nail a matte black nail job, you sure your Yelp photos are yours? Photos below were taken right after I got my nails done last night.

I am so glad I came to Zalak for my nails. This was my first time doing a hard gel, and she was so sweet and made me feel incredibly comfortable. I always experience anxiety and nail salons, but Zalak killed it--even fixed three broken nails with so much care. Wish i did a more fun design too, since she is such an artist.

Zalak is an absolutely incredible nail artist. I love long sets with elaborate art and she absolutely MURDERED this set. I'm obsessed and so grateful to have found her. She works out of a very private space that makes receiving this service feel extra special and relaxing. The photos speak for themselves. Can't wait for my next set already.

If you're thinking about getting HARD GEL, do NOT go here. I have been an avid dip advocate and grew out my nails naturally with a hard time finding good techs. I decided to try hard gel and went here after reading lots about the trend and it being healthy. Please read this article about how it is healthy BUT needs to be applied properly: https://www.refinery29.com/en-gb/hard-gel-nails-manicure I went to her twice. The first time was free in exchange for trying the service, becoming a "fun new customer" as she wants on her Instagram, and checking in on her Yelp. Well my nail cracked bad within a week and it hurt. I couldn't come and get it fixed because I'm constantly working. In two weeks I had to come in and pay $70 (normal gel/dip/manicure price) for what she considered a "color change" and "one" nail fix. Also a shaping. Two days later, three of my nails have similarly broken and cracked in the middle and I can't do anything with my hands so I now have to find a new tech, cut down all my natural nails super short, and give up what I've been growing. I have never had this problem before with any tech or technique and when texting her about this asking for help, she blamed my nails for being weak. In any industry is never right to blame the client or customer. Again I went back to research and the article I have linked says proper technician form leads to Nail breakage such as this. Nothing should happen this quickly after a manicure and when she did my nails, it took nowhere near two hours -- she rushed and as you can see in the pictures it is sloppy. Lastly, she said to come in for the next "fill" it would be $120 at least. No thanks.

I'm going to start by saying that I feel I found the one! The one that will be taking care of nails and I couldn't be much more happy! I was searching for an open nail salon on a Saturday evening when Nail Bawse popped up as a suggestion. I clicked on the profile, read the reviews and of course checked out the pictures. What I was most excited was that she was open late and also provided mobile services. I immediately contacted her through Yelp, responded within a couple minutes. I was impressed! She let me know she was booked for the evening (my loss), and that she would get back at me for Sunday if she was able to squeeze me in. Here comes Sunday, I'm busy with errands, forgot about our conversation, yet Zalak, contacts me right away that she was booked all afternoon but she would be able to take me either Monday or Tuesday which was fine by me. Booked my appointment online, she was also helpful with guiding me and provided the best customer service ever! As I met up with her, she showed me the difference between hard gel nails and gel overlay. I decided to try out hard gel nails and I am so glad she introduced me to this because I don't want no one touching my nails! She did such a great job! She was attentive, friendly, helpful and since it was late, offered me some samosas (which were to die for!!) and water. She went above and beyond! I have booked my future appointment with her and I'm excited that she will be coming to me! Where else can you get treated so good?

Zalak was fast and professional! She fit me in at the last minute and when it was convenient for me! I needed my nails to be short/neat and Zalak did a great job!

Zalak's hands-down the best nail artist in West LA. I really respect people who take pride in their work, & she's so good & passionate about what she does. She's definitely very pricey, but I'm willing to pay the price. That's how good her art is. I'm from East Asia, and I always find that Nails salons here just couldn't do art & design. But Zalak's definitely even better than the artists back home. So I'm gonna hold onto her whenever I need this kind of service in the future lol.

So many colors and designs to choose from!

This is my fourth time getting my nails done with Zalak and she never disappoints! She is has such a great vibe at her home studio, and offers house calls as well. I love that she offers gel x and is able to accommodate any design you have in mind. I showed her a few reference photos and she free-styled with her creative direction. I'm so happy with my results and will definitely be seeing her again soon.

I recently got at home mobile spa service . She did our nails, waxing, and eyebrow lamination. I was quoted (as you can see in the screenshot) $100 for each gel manicure. After we received the services, she told us it was actually $200 for each gel manicure. She said she quoted me that over text, we went over the texts with her and nowhere was I quoted $200 . She then said I should've checked her website. Her website is not attached to Yelp and she did not send me her website over text. I felt cornered into paying the extra, after it was paid i told her i felt very uncomfortable and didn't want to have to leave a bad review- she repeated again that I should've checked her website. Do not go to this woman, she is a scammer also the waxing job was horrible. She asked to use flour from my kitchen for the wax. I have patches of hair and wax all over the place. Her nail supplies were not only dirty but clearly used. I strongly strongly advise to not use her services read more

Zalak is wonderful :) I got a regular mani/pedi and my nails/toes looked perfect!! Regular polish staying on toes is somewhat normal, but the regular polish on my nails stayed perfect as well for a whole week! She does work alone in a small room, so if you're looking for a group thing or a more public nail spa environment, this is not the place for you. BUT you have full control of the nice big screen TV, and she definitely still provides a relaxing and professional experience. read more

I had a house call after having a terrible flu and needed to prepare for a impactful week ahead. Prior to arrival, she communicated well and got classic manicure gel nude short nails. I seem to randomly meet them all elite nail artist, as the ones in LA all knows each other, small world.... A good trivia for her potential new clients is she studied architecture, and found her "hobby" as a "nail artist" to be her right path. For someone who's transition into interior design, that "technical" training definitely shows up in my nails. Zalak is the best nail tech I've come across in LA. Always professional, fun to talk with, and will go the extra mile to make sure your nails are perfect. I have the worst cuticles, but she always takes the time to carefully get rid of all my hangnails. I originally got gel extensions which helped me grow out my natural nails, and now I just get hard gel overlay. My gel has never chipped. The hard gel also protects my nails so that they can grow long naturally. I'm really happy I found her. read more

Let's start off with how amazing Zalak is. She gave me a cookie, she's always stocked with goodies to drink, and we always have long conversations. She makes me laugh nonstop . About her work... she fixes all the things I mess up on my hands because I'm so rough on my hands. She is a true artist from simple manicures, to simple art, to intense detailed art. The lady who did my nails was very sweet and kind so this review is based purely on the service and price. Update: Response to the message below. Yes, I came a few months ago and I have a receipt from you. I went from long red nails to short, natural nails for a Photoshoot. Zalak is so sweet and so accommodating! I had a stressful weekend where I completely destroyed my nails (thank you film production). My goal is to finally become an adult who doesn't bite her finger nails. Z is a truly talented nail artist. She takes the time to make everything look perfect and symmetrical. And even though I like simple designs, she can do damn near anything you ask for. I live in Las Vegas but I only come to her in LA and sometimes I'll purposely plan a trip if I have something special I need my nails done for. Besides just the nails she also cleans up the cuticles on both my hands and feet better than anyone I've ever gone to. I get my nails done a lot by many different people, and no one comes close to Z's talent. She loves her job and it translates. read more

The most perfect manicure of my life!! Zalak is THE BEST. I discovered her by chance and will be a customer forever. She uses high quality materials and does flawless work. The last gel manicure I had lasted almost 4 weeks and did not damage my nails at all when removed. I have been to so many people in LA and Zalak is far, FAR superior. I have a very hectic life so have been looking for some time for someone who would come to my house in the evening and do a manicure/pedicure (surprisingly difficult to find, particularly at a price that's not insane). I found Zalak through Yelp. She came over (on time) and did an amazing job with my nails (pedicure and gel manicure). It's clear that she cares about quality of her work. I also thought it may be somewhat uncomfortable to have a person I've never met before be at my house for two hours, but it wasn't at all. Zalak was very easy to have around, talkative but respectful of my privacy. I will definitely use her again. read more

Nail Bawse is literally one of the best nail technicians in LA. I have been doing my nails with her for three times and will definitely continue doing so. She is very talented, careful and can do any possible design. For the first time, I had a very detailed design that I wanted and she did it better than I would have ever expected. She can do the wildest and most complicated designs as well as the classic simple ones. She has a HUGE selection of colors and diamonds. It is also super nice to work with her as she comes to your place to do the nails PLUS she is an extremely pleasant person too! I always have such a great time when she is doing my nails. Looking for quick, cheap nails to last you a week? Don't go here. Zalak is a true nail artist who only does amazing nails that last until you grow them out. Really! I had mine done over a month ago and I'm just calling now for an appointment because my acrylics have grown out. Hands up, her work was the best nail treatment I have ever gotten. My nails looked so perfect that people I sent pictures to thought they were from a hand model! (Let's just say no one has ever mistaken me for a model of any kind let alone my gnarled, I-work-for-a-living-with-my-hands fingernail model.) As proof to one friend, I had to send a selfie holding my phone with my nails in it so she would believe they were mine. That's how awesome they looked--like they didn't belong to me. Choose Nail Bawse to get nails that look better than you and look better than you deserve. Go somewhere else to get quick, cheap nails and then be sure to make an appointment to come back in a few days when the polish wears off. As for me, I'll be seeing Zalak monthly or less. But I won't see you there. Her place is so private that she only takes one client at a time. She'll also come to your place for an additional fee. Can getting your nails done be any more relaxing? I connected with Linsey due to a friend's referral in a Facebook Group and she was more than happy to add me to her calendar. Though this is more than a walk, it is still only a short drive from Midtown so not an issue. I used rideshare to get here this time due to my car being dangerous to drive, and it was still easily accessible. There's a road leading to the validated parking area that the rideshare drivers can pick you up and drop you off, since the road in front of the salon is a busy main road. I thought the offer of drinks was wonderful, and I accepted a mini water bottle. Linsey was super patient with me, as I requested her to make my tips shorter after we had finished filing. She was going fast, but I'm so impressed with the results. She even made it to her next appointment without being behind! We chose the four green colors for my set quite quickly as well, but I'm so glad with how they turned out. Hopefully these last long! I'll definitely be back, because I can see how happy Linsey's other clients are. It's nice to have a nail tech who you feel comfortable with!

It took about 2 days after this was posted for ANOTHER nail to lift completely off the nail bed once again, so I had to take all them off since the one in my yelp review had been bent/injured so much it was swollen. It wasn't long until both of those nails(my actual natural nail after I took off the extensions) ripped off/got torn, so I knew that she filed my nail down too much in the first place. This really was a shame because I wanted to like this place so badly. I really did like her initial work-until I noticed the structural issues in her nails that have never happened to me before at other salons. I honestly felt like she rushed me and should have just canceled or rescheduled my appointment in the first place instead of having me sit there for an hour only to have the whole nail lift off after two weeks(which btw, I talked to my beautician friends and consulted google and the nail bed only lifts off that much when the nail tech doesn't clean/dry your nail enough for the acrylic to latch on). If you want cute looking nails for something super short term, then go here. But if you want nails that have a stability longer than 2 weeks and dont leave your nails so weak that they split in half and are bleeding-go somewhere else.

Sooooo I thought I really enjoyed this place until my birthday nails. I paid the 50 dollar deposit. I was told my nails were 250. So my remainder should have been 200. Too bad she said my remainder was 250. I asked "didn't I pay a deposit" she calmly said "yes" so I said you know what fine I'll just pay. It took like 5 hrs for my nails and I ordered us pizza tryna be considerate . So In total my nails were 300. The next week the Chrystal's on my nails began to fall off. I contacted her to get them fixed because these are 300 dollar nails no Chrystal should be falling off. I had to work around her schedule. That's fine but do understand I have a life too and I can't just jump when you say jump. Especially in LA traffic. Not to mention when i get my nails done I always wait for when she does others client touch ups because there is always a client that comes and needs a fix of something on their nail. So I was 20 min behind and she says I have to reschedule. I have waited for her for 20 minutes before so I didn't think that was fair but I said you know what fine I'll just never go back. Now I got these nails in January. It is now March and I can't get these nails off ! I took the thumb nail off and some of my nail came off with it. Now I'm on the pinky and half the nail is coming off too. I really didn't wanna leave this review but I've been more than fair and the price I paid for nails I'm not expecting the hardship that's come with these nails. Beautiful nails but a lot of work and money and grief and now pain. So disappointed read more

I cannot recommend Zalak enough. I have been absolutely blown away every time I go to see her. Not only is she incredibly talented, she uses extremely high quality products that actually last. As a healthcare worker I am not very gentle with my nails, yet my gel manicures easily last over 4 weeks with absolutely no chips or scuffs. 10000% worth every penny. She puts in the time caring for my nails that no generic salon ever will. Aside from the work, Zalak is so genuinely kind and an absolute sweet heart. I actually love coming to get my nails done, which has never been something I've enjoyed. My only regret is that I didn't find her sooner! She can do any art you can imagine; I am never worried that the nails might not come out quite the way I want them- she is just that good. Highly highly highly recommend!! read more

Zalak is awesome!!! I'm so glad I found her. I was looking for somewhere open on a Sunday night and found Nail Bawse. I was thrilled that she could take me last minute and that she does hard gel extensions. Now I'm hooked. She is super talented and has endless options plus she is so accommodating and insanely sweet. Plus I love that she has her own space so I can bring my dog with me. She is so lovely about letting my dog hang out with us in the space while she's doing my nails. This is a over due review but I love my nails even after 4 weeks . They have grown out so only that's why I have to go back to Zalak for a full but all the gems are still in place. You definitely pay for quality and her art when you go to Zalak. She made sure of every tiny detail and I'm so happy with my nails than I was ever before.
