The salon is a little outdated. My nails turned out nice but the lady that did them was very congested and had a runny nose which she kept wiping on the back of her hand. She did not wear gloves nor did she have a mask on and I just felt the experience was just very unsanitary. I ended up getting a cold a few days later and I have a child going through chemotherapy right now so he is immunocompromised. I would recommend keeping sick employees home or wearing a mask and sanitizing their hands. read more

This is my go-to nail spa when my nails need it or just when I need it. The massage chairs are awesome as is Andrew's pedicures and foot massage. Very peaceful and quiet while they diligently work on your nails. I can usually call and get an appointment convenient with my schedule that same day. I do see walk-ins but some have to leave and come back, so definitely make an appointment. Prices are good and place is clean. read more

Stopped in here because I needed a manicure badly. I mostly needed cuticles pushed back and jagged nails to be filed. I was immediately taken as a walk-in. Kim did my manicure and it took about 25-30 minutes + drying time for the polish. It was $10 for the manicure + tip. For $10 it was a good manicure. Price was right. I work in a business where my manis don't last more then 3-5 days. I am overall pleased. The $10 was worth it to have my cuticles pushed back and jagged nails filed smooth. The manicure also included a 30 second arm/hand massage on each hand and hot towels. When I was moved over to the drying station, she gave me a 2 minute shoulder massage. The facility is rather clean and the business and technicians' licenses are clearly displayed. This is the 3rd time I have used Nail Beauty (the other times were about 6 months and 1 year ago) and I continue to be sufficiently pleased for the price. If you want frills and a chatty nail tech and a more "spa" like experience, then I suggest someplace else. But if you need a manicure and you are on a budget (as I am and nor do I have time and skill to do my own manicures at home) then Nail Beauty is a good bet. The only thing I didn't understand was she rubbed a wedge of fresh cut lime on my cuticles. She attempted to explain what the purpose was, however I didn't quite understand her. No harm, no fowl and I still got a pretty decent mani! I'd also suggest bringing your own polish. Their selections of polish are plentiful but the bottles looked "well used" and so anytime I go for a mani, I bring my own polish and it allows me to fix any chips at home. read more

Good, friendly service, but the quality was poor. I went during my lunch hour for mani/pedi in preparation for a wedding I stood up in. The girl cut my nails WAY too short (after I told her specifically not to!), which really ruined the overall appearance. The pedicure was nothing special - not very relaxing. When my nails were drying the girl gave me a 30 second neck massage which might have felt good but it was so short I couldn't tell! One mediocre experience is enough for me to go elsewhere! read more

Very patient with you when picking out colors.The male that works, there is really nice always making conversation with me and my friend. I used to come here years ago and just recently came back (can no longer afford the $24 manis and $55 pedis at another salon). They will take appointments and have been very accommodating with my schedule. You simply CANNOT beat $32 for their mani-pedi combo! Great clean up of the nails, nice shaping, fantastic polish application (I bring my own colors and top coat). At the end I get a wonderful shoulder massage to top it off! In and out with fantastic-looking toes and fingers in less than 1 1/2 hours! Fits my schedule, my budget, and meets my high standards. Try this little salon and you won't be disappointed! read more

Very friendly...that's about it. My nails lasted a whole 4 hours before they began to chip. My pedicure lasted a day....I've NEVER had a pedicure last only a day. Fortunately I never fell into the trap of waiting between mani and pedi, but I've seen it happen to other people. I won't go here again. read more

I've been coming in here for years, and sometimes I've come out w/ killer nails and a great experience, and sometimes I've just left irritated as hell. First off, they're not very good at honoring appointments. They also have a bad habit of putting you in the pedicure chair just to get you started, and then leaving you for a good half hour. There have been times where they've done my pedicure and then left me sitting at the manicure table for 15 or 20 minutes while they did a walk-ins pedicure. Still, there have been times when they've gone the extra mile - like when I decided I'd get a french manicure w/ hot pink tips, and they added a cute line of silver glitter. Now, I know that sounds like I might be a candidate for the Tool Academy (yes, I watch a little too much VH-1), but my excuse is I was still in college and all the crazy studying/partying/not sleeping must have damaged my better judgement. Anyways, it seems like those days are gone, and the last time I went they changed the mani/pedi special to a spa one and upped the price. Now, they were already a couple of bucks higher than other places in the area, and of course it's still the same damn mani/pedi w/ only a name change. Simply put, there's a lot of better options in the neighborhood under the $31 they charge. read more

I've been to Nail Beauty 2 times now and the first time I was happy with the service. However, I just returned and had the worst mani/pedi I've ever had. The manicurist was obviously inexperienced and everything about the service was awful. I definitely could have done a better job myself. I understand that new people have to learn, but they should not be put on the floor unless they know what they are doing! I should not have had to pay full price for that... it felt terrible and it looks even worse. Definitely not going back! read more

I have been to every type of salon, from the swankiest to the dirtiest hole in the wall joint and at the end of the day, all that matters, is a good job done by a friendly staff. Unfortunately, the women here look irritated, disinterested, and overall miserable. They quality of the mani/pedi depends on the technician AND their mood. The male, presumably the manager, is very kind and a hard worker that does great nails. You're only bet is getting him. Either way, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. This was my first time going to Nail Beauty and I have to say that I'm a fan. I've been to a couple of other nail salons in the Park Ridge area and for the price this is my favorite (it's a little cheaper than some of the other places). They have good (not amazing) color selection and while there was a steady stream of customers I didn't have to wait (I did call ahead to make sure just in case). My favorite part is that the technician really took her time both on my pedicure and manicure. I don't care how nice you are, how many colors you have nor how swanky the place is if the entire thing is rushed or not quality work. I was so excited to find a nearby place that both did a no-chip for a decent price and could (for real) take walk-ins. Got my second mani-pedi yesterday, a no chip mani. I did make a reservation to make sure they could take me as I have an event and needed to have nice matching nails. They did not have samples of how the no chip looked dried and guessed on what would match for toes. The two services took over 2 hours, the no chip was not the best (sloppy), and the toes totally did not match. I found a color that did match and asked them to change the color, which they did. When I went to pay they added $10 in extras they did not list anywhere nor did they tell me about before they were done (a scrub everyone else gives as part of a regular pedi, and soaking off the no chip I got from them 2 weeks before). I was beyond irritated at the poor job and the length of time all this took, and they had already run my card without the additional charges. I did not offer to pay the additional, pointed out they needed to tell people. Will continue looking for a good nail place. Sigh. read more
