If you are dedicated and willing to invest in your nails, have them healthy and meticulously cared for, this is the salon for you. Christy does my nails every time with precision and care; her skill set is amazing with the ability to create designs no matter the ideas brought. Shes creative and capable in finding solutions. I've never had a nail break, and I do type and play instruments and clean my house without thought of preserving my nails. Which tells me she knows what she is doing and the quality is built to last. If you need to get extensions in order to grow your nails longer under the Japanese gel, the first appointment will be pricier than the rest, but if you take care of them and use the nail oils (either your own or the one that Christy was so nice to give me) each appointment will be less than the first, given the range of designs chosen. The salon itself is a bit tricky to find if you're unfamiliar-- it is inside the 99 area mall, to the left of 99 if you enter from the front. It's its own storefront and is pretty quiet and calm inside. First appointment after tip was close to 300. After I've had a range of 130-200 after tip depending on design. I've tried other salons for less that provide acrylic or gel tips that have good reviews and techs but I've always had a nail break or my natural nails would suffer. I've been coming for a few months and my nails are healthier longer and I get compliments always. :) read more

Super lovely salon. Sweet staff. This was my first and last visit. Paid $83 for a gel polish to be applied. Some cuticle work was done but the photo shows the forgotten pinky. There was no typical soak and no calluses were removed. Maybe I didn't understand this type of pedicure but I've never walked out with calluses not addressed. I also have never left a salon in p a i n. See the two toes where serious blood was drawn when the bit was cut and dug out along edge of big toenail. I'm dreading potentially being one of those stories of getting an infection after a pedi. Also, the toenails are all different shapes & sizes and they're not all fully painted. I think I understand why there's mostly only manicure photos. Now I realize I'll have to pay someone to remove the polish because I won't be able to. It gets better and better. (And more expensive haha) There are more nail artists, spacious, they do Asian style lash extensions which look not overwhelming, great facials too! I usually watch their IG to spot deals. They added an easy online booking system They offer laser hair removal too at a really good deal. Ofc it's painful the first session, but at the time, I would go once a month for removal. I had multiple follicles growing out of one, to being baby soft with some permanently gone! While I don't get my nails done anymore for climbing reasons (set removal left my nail in rough shape, maybe try somewhere else for hard gel removal), you cannot beat their artistry, creativity, execution, and diverse service menu. I've visited both of their locations (in the same mall), and the service I got in their previous, smaller one was great. I don't remember who worked on my nails (squared opalescent and then cat eye), but she was sweet, accommodating and never said no to any ideas or designs. That was back in 2020-1. Fast forward to now. I came in with a few ideas and was scheduled with Christy. I came in early and didn't mind sitting. She ran in 5 mins late, appeared really flustered and then sat down and asked me to sit. To be honest, this wasn't a great start for me. She seemed anxious, overwhelmed and impatient but I decided to give it a go and share with her what I'd like. I've seen the amazing work from this salon and didn't think what I wanted was crazy or unachievable. Right away she said no to everything. No to the art because it would "take too much time and cost too much." She also kept saying it was "too early for Halloween nails" and that they would start doing them in a week or two. Ok??? Just say you don't want to work on me?? Then another gal that had walked in suggested that she use stickers and she shot that down too, to the point where this other gal picked up sticker books and looked through them to find similar designs, brought them for her to see and she said no. Literally in front of her and she shoved the book away! The other gal forced the book back to her and then she realized it could work and began to pull some sticker pads out. Do they look cheap and flimsy? Yup, but it was apparently the only way I was going to get close to my design. She also kept being interrupted by whom I assume is her child, and this clearly bothered her. Over all, my nails were well done and I got many compliments on them, but on close inspection, you could see the cheap sticker quality and some were even placed crooked. I returned for a fill before my trip with a damaged middle finger because the first set grew out and kept being snagged on everything. It hurt so bad! I requested Jing because her name kept popping up under amazing reviews and nail art. She was very sweet and assured me that my nail would heal soon, which it did. I requested a red fade with glitter and rhinestones, and she did it...it just looked like a subpar version of her other work. Next to me was an African American lady who requested a certain color and style and the gal she was booked with seemed to have trouble with that because this lady kept telling Jing about it and how she wanted someone else next time. It's a bit coincidental that we both got less than stellar work done. Makes me wonder if there is some favoritism there. I'm honestly jealous and a bit bitter that I didn't get the same quality of work, even though I didn't cap their time or pricing. I'll keep looking. read more

Worst customer service ever. They recommended and used snap-on nails without acrylic at all, which caused the fake nails easily fall off within just one hour after the nails got done! Very disappointed. Cost us to drive there again the next day to re-do the whole nails but on real nails because more and more fake nails were falling off overnight! And they refused to provide partial refund that I asked. I simply only asked for the $40 refund of extension of nails because the extension was not part of the final package but they chose to accuse customer for not keeping the nails well and refused to refund. What a wonderful delight to find Nail C Beauty Salon. I made an appointment via yelp message for nail service after 6 months of closures in the Bay Area. Jia was able to squeeze me in for Japanese Nail Art design service. She has a board display of designs to choose from or you can show her a picture of what you would like and she'll try to replicate it. Prices range from $60 with minimal design up to $90 with more bling and design. My cuticles were a mess after 6 months of SIP and she had to charge an additional $10 for cuticle service, well worth it. I found that my nail last longer without breaking, but I do change design every 2 weeks because my nails grow fast . I feel like if your nail grow slow, paying about $80-120 with a better design is not that bad. Don't really want to share this place because they are already busy enough! Nail C is amazing! They are not your average nail salon, you don't get pampered like you usually do with other nail salons. If you want PRETTY BEAUTIFUL nail designs that last a VERY LONG TIME, Nail C cannot be beat! It helps to speak Chinese to convey any ideas you may have, but they have a lot of photos for inspiration, so it works out. If you decide to come here, be sure to carve enough time in your day..my appointments have averaged about 2 hours each. So why the 4 stars? Well, this place is really pricey and everything is à la carte. I also do not like to have to pay $10 to remove dead skin around the cuticles, but it is kind of necessary and it is what it is. I did my nails right before the pandemic and it lasted 8 weeks! (Probably more, but I couldn't have a little piece on my nail anymore). Glad I came here and that my nails were beautiful! Decided to do some self care and get my nails done for spring. This place is appointment only and for good reason! I picked a simple design and it took 2 hours! My nail tech is Jing. She's very nice, meticulous, and skilled. Her "bedside manners" were great and easy to talk to. The entire process from prep to end result was painless and well done. Jing answered all my questions and was very patient. Most importantly the store has a policy that is if something happens to your nails within 10 days of service, they can fix for free. Also if you decide to come back and do a new design, removal is free. Caveat is if the old design is done by them. That's still pretty good service! But know that it will cost more than a typical manicure/acrylic nail set. They take their time too especially if you are wanting a design, so be prepared to be there for 1-3 hours depending on your design. But they do an excellent job. I go to them for special occasions or when I just want a great nail design. Oh, and make sure to remove any old nail polish before you come for your appointment.
