WORST PLACE EVER!!!!! For some reason they make you pay before they do any service. I got a full set on Monday. They tried to charge me $50 for my full set when their sign literally says $30. I ended up paying $45 for them. by Tuesday my middle finger nail had cracked in half. Called and they said they would fix it. Went there and the lady was completely rude. She literally tried to pull of the rest of the nail off my finger without soaking it or anything, literally just pulled it off. The whole time she was fixing my nail she was watching YouTube videos. Today the same nail she fixed yesterday, the nail polish chipped and I called to see if they would fix it and the lady said for $10 they would fix it!!! 3 stars BUT take my review with a grain of salt. Things I didn't like about this place: -limited nail polish selection. I would've preferred more OPI and more colors than pinks/reds. -nail polish that was available looked old -questionable cleanliness. I didn't see any instruments being sterilized in an autoclave, but I did see germicide. -the layout was awkward. A private pedi party area separates pedi and mani stations, making it kind of awkward IMO. -the person who answered the phone said pedis were $22, but they in fact started at $28. Things I like about the salon: -the manager, Michelle, is so welcoming and inviting. She seems to know her customers on a first name basis, which is always nice. -they have kids' pedi booths..so cool! -I did see them scrub down the pedicure stations! -they offer coffee, coke, Pepsi, etc. -they do shellac!! I was also informed they do haircuts, waxes, acrylics, and more. -my nail tech, ANN, was so nice!! So gentle, got all the calluses out, did everything I wanted in a mani and pedi, AND an excellent conversationalist. I especially love that she was so detailed while she did my nails and checked to make sure I liked the nail shape prior to proceeding. If you come here, you MUST ask for Ann!! I think her mom works there too, so if she's not available, ask for her mom (whose name I've pathetically forgotten). Absolute WORST experience. I'd never even so much as take an animal here. Ever. We asked if they had white, simply white polish, and they told us yes. We were charged $38 each for a manicure, then they gave us the incredibly small color selection of which white was NOT any of them. We asked if we could have a refund since we really weren't interested in any of the colors they had, they said no. So we both got black. Dirty tools that were clearly used on other people. My nails didn't even get covered all the way, and the girl was watching tv on her phone, repeatedly leaning over to see it while she was doing my nails. So my nails looked ridiculous. As I was waiting for my friend, I was also watching her 10 month old son who's very well behaved, and the woman nearly knocked him over and didn't even look down to see where he was standing. She made it clear that she hated him being there despite how well behaved he was. He kept smiling at her and she kept glaring at him and saying clearly rude things to the other girl working there. The gentleman was the only nice person working there. All in all, HORRIBLE experience. So I went to the Thai Cottage the next day to have it fixed, and they said they frequently fix the horrible work of this place and they're happy to do it for a lower rate. read more

We found this place by walking by in the mall here in Norton Shores. They were advertising haircuts and my 3 children were in need. The place was dead (which should have been our first sign) so I thought we could get done quickly. We had an older woman take the kids back. She asked what we wanted but didn't follow our instructions. For example, I asked for 1 inch off the bottom for one of my daughters. She ended up with layers and extreme thinning. My son had the side of his head cut with the clippers and his ear was bleeding. His haircut was uneven, not faded, his neck hair was only partially cut and he had lines in the back of his hair. We ended up taking him to Sports Clips to fix this. My other daughter has large uneven chunks in her hair, when we asked for it to be straight across. I went back to show them what was wrong with all 3 kids and they said they would give my son some Neosporin for his cuts since it happens all the time. The woman that cut my daughters hair tried to tell me that I brought the girls in with this uneven and she tried to fix it. They would not return funds. This place is hands down the WORST place for haircuts. Please don't ever consider this place. You are better off doing it yourself with a blindfold on. read more

READ BEFORE GOING!!! Price is average for a nail salon. $28 for a pedicure. However, the service was terrible, not really sure how they've managed to stay in business. I don't normally write reviews but after this service, I feel like people need to know before they try and go there. We walked in and were greeted by one of the employees who asked us if we were interested in services. My friend and I got pedicures. They began to fill the foot baths and rushed us over to pick a color. I asked for french tips. The I picked the upgraded package and my friend got the basic package. First off when you order a higher service it usually encompasses more services and essentially a longer session. She began her session a few minutes before me and finished after me... then the lady who greeted us at the door had us pay for our services before we even started, as soon as we sat down. She hovered and waiting for us to tip. I tip according to service but since I hadn't received any services yet I tipped average. She then looked at the receipts and told our technicians how much we tipped them. I went to adjust the settings on my seat the lady yelled at me and told me not to touch anything. The over all session was poor. She did not put any effort into the service and she did not scrub the bottom of my feet. She continued to shove and throw my legs around. She cut some of my nails and she dug too deep making it painful and she cut too far in and cut off part of my nails, to the point where she had to put Neosporin on it at the end. She also put a scrub on my legs and said something along the lines of look at how gross your legs look... like ok thanks? She didn't remove the scrub and my legs continued to be sticky the rest of the night. What also really blew my mind was that she seemed to be more concerned with cleaning the spa station and her own hands than she did working on the pedicure. All of this was poor service but what really got me and that the pedicure turned out TERRIBLE! A child could have done a better job! She just tried to paint them on and clear coated them instead of cleaning up the edges and thinning them out. Half my toe was white. If I could give negative stars, I would. This place is hands down the worst in Michigan. Not only do they make you pay before hand, but they do such a bad job. They're mean, talk back and over charge. They also claim to fix any chips, crack, fallen off nails within 2 days of service, my sister and I went to get our nails done yesterday and today her nails chipped (acrylic nails) and they said they will gladly fix it for another $20. This place is gorgeous and enormous! The chairs are so relaxing and the people working there are extremely nice and attentive. I had an incredibly relaxing pedicure and manicure. I went with my friend to this place. I get pedicures and manicures all the time. I have never had a worse pedicure. She got the paint all over my skin. She didn't even cut my cuticles or push them down or do anything with them. She didn't cut off dead skin. She didn't do the sea salt scrub and then charged me for it. She didn't give me a massage. My friend got the same sea salt #2 pedicure and received a massage and scrub. She basically just sloppily painted my nails and charged me $33. When I told her everything she missed, she just argued with me. I would definitely go to a different place. I will never go back here and am very upset. We waited again and my massage was completely done before my friend's pedicure even began because the girl who Ann told us only had to finish a top coat on a mani, was then sent to another walk-in client for a hair cut before coming over to us. Ann even tried to lie about it but I got up and looked on one of the numerous occasions that she stopped my foot "massage" to answer a phone. I hate being lied to - but especially by someone I am paying a service to!!!!! I was looking at other reviews as I was waiting for my friend to get her pedi, and on google they are all negative... issues with sanitation, rudeness, bleeding etc. On top of this all, we were both charged full price for horrible service. A one star is generous. Reason 1001 why I don't mess with the nail place in the mall. The daughter of the owners is rude and unprofessional. Walked in at 8pm on Valentine's Day. She asked me what I wanted, I said a regular pedi. Was told to sign in, pick a color and pay upfront because I was the last customer and they wanted to shut down their register. Weird but ok cool I'll pay. Told her my husband went to the bathroom at the other end of the mall and will pay when he comes back. The person then told me to call him to see if he could come pay and pick a color and wait in the waiting area. I again stated that he went to the rest room and would be right back. I proceeded to pick a color while NOT calling him. She begins to get the station ready then again comes back to me and asks me to call him. I again stated what I had already told her and continued to pick a color. At this pt I called him to see if he's on his way down; no answer. The person AGAIN comes to me and asked if he has a phone that I could because her ride would be there at a certain time. As politely as I could I stated that I had told her where he was at and that he'd be right back down after he was done and that rushing me wasn't going to make him walk down to the other end of the mall any faster and that she so worried about leaving then she should have locked her door and not agreed to take me if it was such a hassle. This person tried to get my work info/schedule another time that works for me; trick right now works for me! I put back the polish and scribbled out my name and walked out. 1. The mall closes at 9p so how you gone stop taking people at 8p? 2. If you're closed then close your doors and say that you're closed. 3. Don't agree to take a client then be rude and try to rush the process. 4. Don't be unprofessional and rude because bad customer service spreads farther than good customer service. read more

Worth negative stars!!!! I don't even know where to begin! This is THE WORST experience I have ever had, and I have lived in three countries! First off, there were only three people working. My girlfriend and I went into get manis and pedis for her wedding this weekend. We brought my 8 and 4 year old nieces with us. They set them up on the kid chairs across the room to have a lady taking care of them and we were in the adult pedicure chairs. I was watching them like a hawk. My friend is being done and in waiting. It's an entire hour before I even get touched and she was completely finished. The same with my neices. My 8 year old niece was done while my 4 year old niece sat their for an hour waiting with her feet in cold water and nothing to keep her occupied. So my 8 year old neices was told to sit with her hands under the uv light to dry her nails. Something that should take 5 minutes. They COMPLETELY forgot about her!! She was there for about 20 minutes at least. I told her she could be done because there was no way her hands were still wet. I tried to get her to sit next to me and wait since there were a ton of empty chairs and nobody in there. They told me no, and that she had to sit in the chairs at the uv lights and wait there. Safe right? So I'm getting my nails done and they completely butcher my toe nails, clipping them crooked and super short when I had decent nails to begin with. And the paint job is a joke. So my 4 year old neice is finally done. They also place her at the uv light. They forgot about her too!!! I kept telling her she could be done and the old Asian lady working there came over twice, shoving her hands under the light, making her keep her hands there and scolding her for moving her hands!!! From this point, I told her to keep her hands out and sit still watching videos on my phone. They're super good kids and sat there doing that while I was finally moved to get my fingernails done after an hour and a half. I told the guy he's not allowed to cut my nails because I didn't want them to be destroyed too. He could do everything else. So what does he do? A quick file and then paint them. No cuticle tripping or pushing back. Nothing. Now get this. Half way though my nails, I hear my neice say something about a burn. I told them to come to me. THEY BOTH HAD BURNS ON THEIR HANDS FROM THE STUPID LIGHT BULBS IN THE UV NAIL DRYER. I couldn't fu***** believe it. The lady didn't offer water or ice. She walked over, put NEOSPORIN on it, apologized and said she shut the light off. Then went on to blame the kids about turning it back on and jumping around. I said excuse me?!?! They never moved. They sat in one spot. I was watching them the whole time. Not to mention the buttons to turn it on and off were on the other side of the bench, to which the girls were never at. Some other lady had been there not long before. I let the lady know I was not happy and I would not be paying for their services on the two kids because they should not have been burned, and I would have to take them to the doctors for second degree burns. She went on for 5 minutes giving me nothing but excuses but not once offering to comp the services for the injuries caused. She blocked me from leaving and tried to force me to sit down, while she called someone. I had my friend take the kids out of the store while i sorted it out with the lady. She called mall security who came along and took down our stories and information. He couldn't come to a conclusion so called the manager of security. He told me he couldn't make me pay but he couldn't stop her from calling the police. And if I walked away I could be arrested. But he said I shouldn't pay. So the store lady called the cops!! I'm standing outside the shop more than willing to talk to the police as I was not going to pay. The lady offered to pay the hospital bill if we sent it to them, but when I requested it in writing, she refused. The police showed up, took our statements and made a report. They also took photos. To come to a conclusion, the three police officers who showed up, said they were not going to make me pay, regardless of the fact that they had a sign posted that they were not responsible for the safety of children, because they refused to let them stay with me and Made them stay sitting by the uv light. The lady is trying to press charges to try and get me to pay the 70$ for the two services. I have photos. Go ahead and try. Thanks for injuring my neices!!!! Sorry excuse for humans. I found this place while walking through the Lakes Mall. Big advertisement for $19 pedicures. Turns out that was a children's price. I had to pay up front $28 plus tip. Was by far the worst pedicure I've ever received. She cut too short and dug-in nail beds to the point where I had to pull my foot away at it hurt that bad. The whole pedicure took no more than 15 minutes. The Polish was sloppy, barely any buffing done. Bad bad bad do not go here! read more

Awful! First I felt judged right off the bat... Never in my life have I been asked to pay upfront including the tip! I had to repeatedly tell her I will not tip until after my nails were done. From that point it was just straight rudeness. The towel was soooooo hot and I had to tell her 3 times it's burning me as I was trying to remove it. Not manners just move up! Move up!! This place is the worst. I agree with another reviewer, I don't know how they remain in business. They look at you like a $ instead of a customer they would like to provide good customer service. The staff I have encountered there have been extremely rude. I have only been to this place two times in the last year. The first time was to remove a set of acrylics. The technician spent most the time on her phone going back-and-forth with someone via text. I paid more to remove the nails then most people pay for a full set. I was charged for the nail removal and a manicure even though I left there without them putting a drop of polish on my nails. On top of that when I got home I found I still had acrylic on some of my nails. I just visited this place again recently and was told I would have to pay $16 to have two nails repaired. When I inquired about the higher rate the woman told me I had to pay more because my nails are longer. Granted my nails are not what you would call short but they are definitely not long enough to warrant a higher price to repair them. When someone comes in and requests a new set do you give them a discount if they want very short nails, I don't think so. I thanked her for the information and took my business right out the door. Based on these experiences I will never go back to that place again. Not even with a gift certificate for a free service. read more

This place is HORRIBLE!!! I went in on Sunday and asked for a full set of acrylic nails and asked for white tips. They told me $50. I said your prices on the door say $30 and they said white tips extra. I said ok and waited about 10 minutes for them to start on me. They had 3 other people in there at different stages of getting nails. I was then asked to pay which I thought was crazy as in all the years I have been getting my nails done I have never been asked that before but thought that they might be concerned about me smudging my nails so I paid first. Then I was told to come to a table and the older woman started working on putting the white tips on my nails. She never held the tips up to my fingers just grabbed them out and glued them on. Sometimes they were not even the same nail for the same fingers but I thought that she knew what she was doing. Well let me tell you she did NOT know what she was doing. After getting the tips glues on I could tell right away that some of them were too big and some too small for my finger tips. Then she pulled out the powder and was getting ready to apply it when I said No, I asked for acrylic. She said we no like acrylic for white tip, gel look better that's why the price is $45. I said I paid $50 and she said that was the tip too!!! WHAT??? I have to pay the tip up front??? So after telling her that I wanted acrylic because I don't think the gel last as long, she said they don't do it with white tips, I reluctantly let her do the gel. Well this was a nightmare form the time I stepped foot in the door. Not only did she not apply the gel to all of the nail, I could see the white tip part on all nails that did not have any gel applied to it. Then she gouged my cuticle several times and made me bleed. She never pushed my cuticles back and just used the grinder to go around my nails and it ripped several cuticles and was very painful. Another girl had come to sit next to me and after about 10 minutes the older woman told me to move to the older mans table and he would finish my nails. When I got over there I told him that most of my nails were missing gel and pointed it out and he had to go back over ALL 10 of my nails with gel. Well he was very bad with the grinding tool also. He bit into my cuticles and made me bleed as well. I told them I was officiating my cousins wedding and wanted my nails to look nice. After he was done I told him I wanted clear polish, the main reason for getting the white tips was to just have the clear polish on them. He then started putting a silver line on my nails where the white tip met the pink nail bed. This looked horrible. The lines were uneven and some were thick and some were thin and some didn't go all the way around. But all of them got the silver line on the sides of my fingers. He didn't even clean that off. I was ready to get out of there as I was there for 1.5 hours already. So on my way home I not only noticed that the lines looked horrible, the gel was cracked and lifted on almost all of my nails already. By that night they were so horrible I was embarrassed for anyone to see them. The next day I went back and showed the nails to the older man as he was sitting at the front desk and he said they fine and I told him look in the light, the silver lines are horrible and they are lifting and he grabbed my hand and said they are not lifting at that point I am mad and the younger woman with the short hair says I will look just have a seat. I sat there and waited about 20 minutes and she had me come over to her chair and started saying everyone makes mistakes and we are all not perfect and some times nails are done bad but I fix for you and put new gel. She was talking in Chinese pretty much over me for about 5 minutes telling them something about the silver lines. She used the grinding tool and ground down all 10 of my nails and was talking about how hungry she was and that she wanted to go get something to eat when she was done with my nails. Well after the grinding, she put super glue on all of them and then filed them with a nail file. Then she put a clear top coat on them and put a little daisy on my ring fingers. I never got any gel out back on them. I also pointed out to her that 3 of my nails were so thick that they were like 5 times thicker than the others so I had her thin that out. I also asked that they be trimmed down because I asked for them to be pretty short and she like the older lady would not file them down short. She said they wouldn't be even with the white. They were't even to begin with. After I went home that night they looked a little better but the next day they were all lifting off again and by Friday night I had lost 6 nails. I went back in on Sunday to show them and have the other 4 removed and the younger woman charged me $10 to have the 4 nails removed and told me why I took them off? I took my daughter because I heard they had chairs for kids so moms and their little girls could get their nails done together...wrong! My daughter was in a chair about 50ft from me getting her nails done. Which I told them just her toes painted...of course I could see her so I sat in the chair and got my toes done too. Not the mommy/daughter date I had planned but it's okay she was having a blast. Well when all was said and done not only had they painted her toe nails but also her finger nails, the tech claimed she asked for her finger nails painted, on top of that she painted a design on them! Now the quality of work is wonderful, however not what I asked for. Of course when I said something I was informed my daughter asked for it so I must pay. She's a little girl of course if she's asked if she wants her finger nails painted as a design she's going to say yes, but I specifically told the tech toes only! So my recommendation is more for moms, yes they have small chairs, no where near you and they will do whatever your child asks for not what you say. This was the only salon that was willing to accommodate a group of 10 ppl to get nails done for a wedding, The salon seemed nice upon arrival but that is the only thing that was nice. The lady held a menu at me and asked which I wanted. I told her the least expensive one. My bad for saying that I wanted to save money. She "forgot" and gave me a more expensive pedicure. When I complained she told me that she gave me exactly what I asked for and the I would have to pay. I didn't know this till the end of my visit. as a side note they do not change out their towels between pedicures, or clean the basins. I should have taken that as a sign as what was to come. While getting my pedicure I asked how much a manicure was with french tips. She told me $17 so I decided to get it. She then chose to gave me the no chip manicure, again with out me knowing that it would cost more. About 10 min in to the manicure I figured out that she was done with me, she was pulling my hand around. Pinching my nails as she painted them, and kept telling me to not move or I would damage the nails. I had to move she was pinching me. Total cost $70 for a manicure that was supposed to be $17, and a pedicure that was supposed to be $25. The next day after my shower I noticed that my nail was starting to chip. (I thought I got the no chip manicure). Because it was wedding day I couldn't do anything about it other than touch it up and hope no one would notice. I went back two days later demanding a refund when they told me that they do not do refunds. However if I wanted I could wait while they called in the lady that did my nails yesterday and she would fix them. Yea right. I told her no that I had to be somewhere and I would like a refund of a gift card. She said they could not do that. My other option was to go there and get my nails done at a later time. I told her I lived 4 hours away and that was not practical. She told me that was the ONLY thing they were willing to do and that If I was really that unhappy I would accept that. I finally agreed (it was my only opption) and asked what I had to fill out so that they would know who I was. She said there was nothing that she could give me that I needed to give her my name and # and she would remember me. she would add me to the list. I used to go through them but will NOT go back. Van did my nails and 3of them are crooked, there are air bubbles under them, he didn't even fill the gel on my whole nail, plus he kept pushing on the side of my thumb so hard that it started bleeding right after I left. After all that I still had to pay $45.00. Not to mention that he was very rude. His phone was a lot more important than I was, his customer! That is UNACCEPTABLE!! Worst mani/pedi ever for my daughter and niece. I question whether or not these people are even trained. They were busy and very obviously hurried through things to move on to other people. Cost was way too much for the service provided. I've had many manis/pedis and was extremely unimpressed with this place. NEVER going back. read more

Not impressed. While the decor is good, the service is not. The nail tech i had kept walking away dealing with other customers and the end result ( full set gel) was sloppily done. My nails are uneven and different lenghts. She did not cut my cuticles and she used the air driven file and ended up hurting me several times drawing blood once. Sadly, a 1-star is too generous for this place! I typically do not leave negative reviews because I usually view a bad experience as situational. However, I feel compelled to write this review. My experience at the Nail Care Studio was horrible. I went with my sister on a Saturday. There were only 2 employees working. They were not short staffed, according to the employees. They intentionally had only 2 staff working. They insisted we pay for the service BEFORE the service was rendered. We were told that this was their normal way of doing business and that they "always" provide excellent service, so no need to worry. Against our better judgement, we paid. We started with a pedi. We were set up with our feet in the water, and there we sat, and waited and waited and waited. I watched the woman doing my nails wander around the salon taking care of tasks and waiting on another customer. I finally had to ask if she was going to provide the service already paid for. We would have left at that point, but we had paid so we stayed. The woman waiting on me (who was rude and dismissive) argued with me about the color I picked out (the first color I picked out was not available because "the order never came in"). She then wandered off again, providing service to another woman at the same time. I took my foot out of the water because the water was hot and I'd been soaking for over 20 minutes. The employee literally yelled at me from across the room to put my feet back in the water. When my pedi was finally done, she cut 2 nails so jagged and short I was bleeding. When she did my fingernails, she again wandered off to provide service to someone else. When asked if she was going to finish with me, she rudely barked across the salon for me to put my hands under the drying light (even though she hadn't put any polish on yet). My sister's experience was equally negative. It took well over 2 hours for our mani/pedis. Needless to say, she did not get a tip. This was the most horrible service. Clearly, the owner's business plan is to treat customers as if they're widgets on an assembly line. I will never go there again! read more
