I've been getting my nails done consistently for the past few years and I used to do my own nails growing up. I'll be the first to admit that I am a perfectionist and have a very high standard (probably higher than the average person) for how I like my nails done especially given how much time and money I spend on getting my nails done. I normally go to my nail technician on Melrose but she wasn't available today so I found Nail'd It and was able to book a last minute appointment to get Gel X removal and a new set. During the removal, the nail technician burned me not once, or twice, but THREE times from trying to file down my nails. Never had I had my Gel X set filed down without soaking them off to then find out that they didn't have foil??? Which was why my nail technician was trying file it down as thin as possible so she could give me a new set without having to soak them off. After the second time she burned me, I asked if she could be more careful but it happened a third time so I decided to pay and leave early from my appointment and go elsewhere to finish my nails. To management: please provide your staff with the proper training for your services. read more

I went for my first time a couple of days ago, from the ease of booking an appointment to the incredible service I received to the fact that Rosie and Jasmin were the most maliciously caring nail technicians I've been to, I just can't speak well enough about this place. Poor Rosie had to deal with the poor nail job I had on before but she was such a trooper and took so much time and care and was so careful to make sure everything she did looked perfect. I'm so grateful to her. My first time but not my last. FYI appointments are booked through text, they have a ton of colors, all for gel and gel-x which is for hygiene reasons and they even have unique colors like highlighter types and ones that look like glass. read more

3.5 stars! Called Nail'd It! to make an appointment on Saturday and they were able to squeeze me in on the same day. Awesome! I arrived on time and was seated right away. Super Awesome!! This I can appreciate because I absolutely hate wasting time waiting around in a nail shop or hair salon. They have a lot of gel colors and regular polish, which is great. The nail shop is cute and small with music playing in the background (lots of cursing..kind of obnoxious). Overall I am happy with the paint job done on my nails. The only qualm that I have about the service I received is that my manicurist did not clean my cuticles well. I am very big on getting my cuticles cleaned up when I get a manicure but the girl who did my nails completely skipped the sides...she also did not soak my nails prior to cleaning up my cuticles. Also I wish they had more nail techs on duty to help walk in customers. After all, walk ins typically account for over half of these businesses and isn't it all about that paper? Get it together! So, it's really hard to find a nail salon that's consistently good. I found this place on yelp, texted to make an appointment, and was able to get in 2 days later as they were booked for Saturday and Sunday. (I texted on a Saturday afternoon, so that as understandable). Setting up the appointment was easy, nice communication. The nail techs that I have seen so far, have all been friendly, younger, knowledgeable about what's "in" right now with nails. Which I appreciate. They are easy to communicate your wants to regarding your nails. Favorite nail tech so far is Kofi, love my nails. They have all been great though. Parking can suck depending on the day, but I have been lucky each time, as there's parking usually right across from their designated spots. The salon is cute and simple inside. Could be cuter, but I don't care lol. They had a nice r&b & more popular music mix going to be first time I was there. Always good to hear good music at the salon. I had come in for a 10AM fill in and two broken nail replacements. She showed up about 10-15 mins late to the appointment and didn't even bother to apologize. I was just standing outside of the shop trying to figure out what was going on. We didn't get started until around 10:30AM, which pushed back my day significantly & even backed up her next two appointments. I paid almost $60 dollars just to need a fill the following week. I've been searching for a nail salon for some time now and I think I'm ready to settle down. It was my first time coming here and setting up and appointment was so easy! You can text or call- I went ahead and called on a Friday and they were able to book me for the next day! I was so surprised as nail salons tend to be booked out during the weekend, guess I got lucky? Come Saturday, I got a call from one of the gals offering me to come in earlier so of course I took it! The Location: The shop is right off Santa Monica and vine located in a shopping center next to the gas station (I think it's a Mobil). Parking was easy for me as I parked right in front of the shop! The shopping center itself isn't the best but I promise the attention to detail you get here definitely factors the location out. Ambiance: Super cute tiny shop, making it feel very welcoming. There is about 3 pedicure stations I believe or maybe even 4 and there are 4 manicure stations. Bathroom is available and so is a wash station. They play really good music- hip hop, r&b. Waiting area is tiny and consists of a couch but I guess that's not really a necessity here and this salon runs based off of appointments to refrain from having people to wait for periods o My experience: I got there a couple minutes early and even had to wait about 20-25 minutes, I didn't mind since I was bumped up anyway and I know sometimes nail techs can run a little behind. I was greeted and tended by Kofi who did an AMAZING job on my nails. She was a bit hesitant at first as I had recently taken off my acrylics and my nails seemed pretty weak and brittle but I assured her that I'd be fine. Throughout the filing down and application of the acrylics she kept asking me if I was okay- I greatly appreciated her consideration. She made sure I got the shape and length I wanted- always making my wants were met at all times. I'm a bit quiet when I first meet someone but Kofi made it super easy to talk to her, she is very approachable and sweet and I greatly appreciated her not making it awkward! I 10/10 would recommend this nail spot and definitely would recommend Kofi as she left your girl looking fresh and getting complimented on my nails left and right! Thanks girl!! Disclaimer: Kofi is not there on a regular basis. I believe she is there every 2 weeks for four days. Worse customer service ever. I've been here before and had Au're and it was much better. I wish I could've gotten the receptionist name because she looked like she didn't even wanna be there. Had an appointment at 5:30 with June, really wanted Au're but apparently she's on leave, but they text me telling me to come in at 6...okay fine. Get there early, only one person says hi to me, and I'm waiting until like 6:10 when I finally ask how much longer. The receptionist or whoever was like oh another 40 min. This place was great. They took my appointment for the next day and I requested if they can see me earlier if there any cancellations to call me in which they did and I was able to get in early. When I got there I noticed that they have so many cool designs that are very unique and custom. They are five dollars each or $18 for a full set of unique custom design. I got a full set with coffin shape gel nails for $55. My technician took her time and she paid attention to the detail of how I liked my nails to look which I told her narrow to make my fingers look longer, and I don't like the edges pointy so she gave it more round look. These ladies are hella cool! I got a basic mani/pedi. Found a color similar to the chrome I was going to get had I not broke 2 nails before arriving to LA. Not the best nail job I've ever gotten (cuticles still a hot mess, color not fully on sides of nails) but also not the worst nail job I've ever gotten. I needed to make an appointment but luckily was able to get one for the same day at a very later time. Cool, since I was visiting LA and had no time to get my nails done before coming to the area. Originally scheduled for Au're but something happened so they gave me Nora as my replacement. I really didn't want to go to Nora because I don't like my nail techs being swapped but I didn't really have another option because everyone else I wanted to go to in LA was booked. Mind you I don't live in LA I live in New York. I paid 130 and my nails barely lasted two weeks. Usually when I get my nails done they last me at least a month. Two of my nails already popped off. I am going to stick to the facts of what took place here yesterday. It's my daughter's birthday today and mine at the end of this week, so I thought I would have a special nail art day with my two adult girls. We read the reviews, and this place seemed to be able to do what we envisioned. We texted the owner days ahead of time and got appointments for yesterday March 15. Owner asked that we text photos of the nail art we wanted so she would be sure to have the colors and embellishments available. We made 2 appts. at 2pm and 1 at 3:30pm for gel manicures with nail art design. The 3 of us arrived at the same time, preparing that one waits. When we got there and said that we had appts. the nail techs. said, "Do you have a picture of what you want?' Yes, ok, we did. One nail tech said she didn't know how to do that, but the other one started on one daughter, while the one who couldn't do my design was instructed to start my gel mani. The manicurists were never given the pics we submitted and had no idea of the designs and colors we wanted. Ok, so my #1 daughter had a light pink background with floating rhinestones set in. I wanted an ombre dark brown to tan transition with only one of the nails on each hand blended. After my #1 daughter's nails were done, the more advanced nail tech started on my nails and my #2 daughter's gel manicure was done by the one who was unable to do any nail art. Back to my manicure - she mixed colors which looked nothing like the photo I sent. She started putting the color on, then couldn't get the colors right, so added other colors to the gel polishes. When she showed me, I said I didn't like it. She kept trying to fix it, adding layers and layers of gel. She said ombre is so hard. I had been sitting in her chair for over 1.5 hours and it was time for daughter #2 to get her nails done. She wanted stars painted on her nails. The tech did fine with the stars. They look nice. But, here is the deal - the place is not clean, no disposable hand towels when you wash at the sink, so she handed me a dingy old dirty towel. Things were not sanitary. The owner apparently never communicated what we wanted to the nail techs. One nail tech was not able to do anything. I paid and left tip for both manicurists, but was not happy with my job. I couldn't stay and complain any more, as daughter #2 had to get home to take her online college class and we had already sat there 3.5 hours. Once I got home, I texted the owner saying I wasn't happy and she asked if I had addressed my issues while I was there. I said I had. And, I showed her pics asking her to admit that it wasn't a good job. She did admit this but said I shouldn't have left the shop with nails looking like that. I was charged $70 for my gel mani with two nails that were ombre (well sort of) and $160 for my daughter's gel manis and nail art (which looks ok). **UPDATE: After 1.5 days, the stones on my #1 daughter's nails are popping off. She is not hard on her nails, nor does she do dishes or have anything to do with soaking hands in water. She spent more money to have a local salon re-do the botch job done here. read more

I made an appointment for 5:15pm on Monday. I show up and she asks what I'm doing there. I told her I had a 5:15pm appointment, and she promptly tells me that she's running late and that if I want my nails done I will have to wait until 5:45pm. It was kind of rude so I said i wish I would have known. They don't take walk-ins and I had to book two days in advance. She just looks at me. Doesn't bother to apologize or anything. It was like she forgot I was coming and had this attitude like it's either wait or nothing and if you don't like it you can leave. I waited until 5:45pm, and she tells ask her how much longer and she thinks about it and says 5-10 more minutes! Again no apology, no recognition of the fact that I'm the only other person in the salon and I've been waiting already for 35 minutes. I don't know about anyone else, but I have a busy schedule and I made the time to be there on time And give her my business and she treated me very dismissively and like she couldn't give a rats ass that I had to wait 45 mins. I feel like that's super disrespectful of other people's time, and honestly I saw the job she was doing on the other girl and it wasn't all that good. read more
