I drove an hour to get to Lavish Nails because my girl moved away. I won't say who did my nail but I am disappointed. The nails are not symmetrical on both hands. One of my nail, the acrylic didn't cover the whole nail and there's a gap on the side but I guess it's not so visible because she put a 3D flower on it. I'm worried about the nail with the glitter. As I wash my hands often, considering there's no coating on the glitter-I'm not sure if it would last three weeks. She put the oil on my nails before asking if I was satisfied. The ends are sharp. She didn't do a great job smoothing it over and it's still uneven. I would like to give someone else there a try to see if her work is better but truthfully I'm not sure if I want to drive this far for poor work. I had a really great experience, the staff were very friendly and personable. The music was enjoyable, and we had a great laugh. The place was very clean and organized. With that said, I was slightly disappointed in the quality of work. My nails are done very quickly and none of my nails are the same shape. Within two days my nails were a already breaking. Because my nails are sure I did not notice the difference in shape until they grew out a little bit more but I was definitely disappointed. It's finally that time of year, when flip flops are coming out, and feet will be seen again. It's time I found a new nail salon, to help bring my feet back to shape. I found Lavish Nail Studio in West Hartford, I called them for an appointment and already got one for the next day. Lavish Nail Spa is under brand new management. Marcus and his team are so lovely and personable. I went in for a gel pedicure. I chose Opi Ferrari Red for my color. Yenny worked on my pedicure. I sat in a comfy massage chair, while she gave me a foot bath, a much needed massage, and even more needed foot exfoliation. All parts of feet feel silky and smooth. Ferrari Red is a lovely, vibrant, red poppy color, it's glossy and fresh! I don't think I'm quite ready to share pictures of my feet for the internet, so we might have to wait till my confidence reaches that level. Please take my word for it, this a five star nail salon, they did a super job of making my feet look and feel presentable after a long and dry winter! They only charged me $42.00 for my gel pedicure, much lower then anywhere else. I'm very pleased. I'll for sure be returning to this nail salon! read more

I ended up scoring a last minute appt with Yenny today, and this is the first time I have never had to file my nails after I get them done!! BEWARE OF FALSE REVIEWS!!! This salon has almost a 5 star rating due to old reviews that were made when lavish nail had different owners!! This salon is now owned by a man named Marcus (who has definitely left a fake 5 star review himself for his own business on here) I've been to this salon on 3 occasions, and only once did I get high quality nails for a reasonable price (still pricey but you're paying for the "lavish" I guess) all other times i went for simple nails and left paying out my azz for some of the worst quality nails and service I've ever gotten. I've been getting acrylics for 10 years on and off, and this salon is insanely overpriced not only for their quality of nails but also the lack of customer service and ambiance!! The last time I was there (only came because they did a good job the first time and my nail guy was in PR) I actually wanted to do something a little more fun because I was going on vacation, I asked the girl who was doing my nails what gems she has and she LAUGHED IN MY FACE said oh no And started pulling out designs on her phone for me to choose from. Whole time she was surprisingly cold and rude just like a previous review mentions (definitely the same girl). Her skill was even more questionable which was surprising because I make sure to do good research when looking for someone to do my nails, but overall the nails were plain and boring and I was charged 100 dollars for A SHORT FRENCH I think they charged me for each individual French tip on every nail as a design fee LOL it's funny looking back how I let them play with me like that but I will never return. I used to come here quite frequently, but stopped. Now there are new owners... I called and was able to get an appt same day. I came in and was quickly seated. Honestly the work she did was good and quick... a bit too quick; it felt a bit rushed. I was taken aback when she started putting cuticle oil on my cuticles without actually cleaning my cuticles. I know times are hard, but Sheesh!!! I've never have gotten any kind of nail service without a proper nail cleaning. Honestly I thought she was going to do it at the end... I previously rated this place with high marks but I'm changing my previous rating. I've been going here for years. Even saw the place change owners, workers, and etc. But, my recent experience changed my mind. I wasn't even going to write this rating. But I can't get passed it. Two weeks ago, I went there for a refill. My nails are naturally very long (picture with purple nail polish is from Feb). I usually have them put acrylic powder on my real nails to keep them strong. Mind you my nails were longer than the Feb pic bc they grew. The guy whose was doing my nails ask me if I wanted them shorter. I said yes( like usual I like them long but not that long), but instead of making them slightly shorter. I was distracted by my phone. So I didn't notice him pick up nail clippers instead of just filling them down like they usual do. He cut my middle and pinky nails extremely short. When I finally noticed, I didn't even get mad. My middle finger nail was so short I had to ask him to add some acrylic gel to the end to even reach some type of height. ( Green nails are the recent). At this point the damaged is done, so I asked him to make my nails even. He hands up cutting some of nails on my other hand shorter than the previous hand. Now my nails are uneven. I still don't get mad or freak out on him. He then informs me that he has to leave and sends me off to another tech. Here's where I get annoyed, not only did he messed up my perfectly long nails and cut them shorter then what I desired. He did then unevenly. He didn't apologize or own it. The female tech tried to act like I came in with my nails cut unevenly. I informed her and pulled up vidro proof that I didn't come in like this. Told get that her fellow tech did this to my nails. Once again, no acknowledgement, apologies , accountability. Mind you I'm a repeat customer. I wasn't expecting a discount or anything like that. But no apology and no accountability? Online you think you are paying just 45 dollars and then you are paying double that because of the gel. And then you have the nails, they come out really nice I just feel like they overcharge you. I never write reviews but I am so angry. 1. Drilled directly on the nail which RUINS nail health 2. Quoted $45 on the phone ended up charging $53 and then when I paid $60 gave me no change back. I normally tip $10-$15 but fine take the $7 since you gave no change 3. Cut my nails without asking if it was a length I wanted 4. Did not check if the nails were filed evenly. I had to correct her, they were BAD. 5. Formed a terrible chunky square for my narrow fingers. It looks like I put press-on nails on my fingers that were too wide! Never go here. First time trying this salon out and it turned out to be a nightmare. Amani did my nails and she was surprisingly rude, cold, and sarcastic. I was surprised because I am a very kind person and never had this experience at a nail salon (been getting my nails done consecutively for 16 years). Anyways, Amani added a color powder without asking me because of course it's more expensive and it was pointless because I mentioned prior, that I wanted a full nail design. She ended doing 4 nails French tip nails which was against what I said I wanted, and when I suggested some design ideas to fill the space, she cut me off and said, "I GOT IT" All in all, my nail shape was slanted, and some were shorter than others. I spoke about my experience on IG later that night and the owner Marcus messaged me. He disregarded everything I mentioned and became offended that I stated, "all that for $100" (I guess he thought I was insinuating that I was overcharged. which I wasn't) He offered to give me "$13 to make me happy" and when I refused the money because, treatment was my issue not money, as I was replying he says "Let's call it a night hun" then BLOCKED ME. I was completly in shock that a salon "owner" would speak to a respectful paying customer that way let alone block my ig account all because I spoke the truth on my experience. I was searching for an affordable mani pedi, and I thought this place was a jackpot! $55 for a gel manicure and pedicure--I'd never done gels before, but I knew that a normal manicure would be ruined with hand sanitizer, which I constantly use as a nurse. When I went into the salon, I asked if gels would be ruined by hand sanitizer, and I was told no, so I went ahead! Gorgeous selection of colors, nice clean salon, and technicians that take their time to give you the best experience!! Such a relaxing pedicure, and a manicure that didn't miss a single spot. However, a bit disappointef because two days after my gel manicure, it chipped and is now peeling off...just one ginger though. Not sure what happened there! But overall, will be coming bac Update: Had this gel mani for 10 days and half of my polish is chipped or peeling off....I thought these were supposed to last three weeks easily. I have mixed feelings about having to write this review but here goes. As with many things your experience depends on who you get. I came in with my mom for a mani pedi. We did not have an appointment and there weren't many people waiting. The place looked clean, was well ventilated and had the usual set up with massage chairs, mani stations etc. We spoke to a Bill who told us someone with an appointment was coming so he would do us one at a time. So far so good. Bill started each of our pedicures. Then he let Menuka take over for the painting after stating that she was new. I sat for about 15 minutes waiting for her to finish my mom before she started painting me. New (and slow) she was indeed. We got here at 3:30 and it is currently 4:45. Menuka is still painting my toenails. Mom just finished her mani. I haven't even had my manicure done yet and I'm sure I won't get it done today. In the time that Menuka was only painting my toenails, my mom had a complete manicure done by Bill and he did a fill on another client. Enough said. I drove out of my way to come here based on Yelp reviews and the price ($32 for mani pedi) and I hate to say I was so disappointed. Bill was an absolute sweetheart and he did apologize for the amount of time it took but I probably won't come here again if I'm not already in the area. If I did I would make an advance appointment and ask to have my service done by Bill or come on a day when I have extra patience to spare for the new gal. The one other upside was that the nail paint dried extremely fast with their UV drier, less than 5 minutes. P.s. I was in today for a manicure and pedicure. I last had a service nine months ago- and today's experience has made me want to come in more frequently. Bill did my pedicure, which was excellent. It was really relaxing, and some time in the massage chair was just what I needed. They have a great selection of colors- my toes look great and my skin is so smooth now. Menuka did my manicure and she did a wonderful job. The keratin glove treatment was really nice. My nails are now evenly shaped, and the polish job is smooth and firm.
