I am pretty skeptical of nail shops. It is always something. But this has been my favorite experience so far. I got a pedicure and the technician (Kathy) was quiet the entire time. Major thank you. For that alone, I knew her tip would be high. She didn't attempt to converse with me, there were no consistent up sales, no comments about needing a callous remover, nothing. Her attention to detail was impeccable. There was no rush to get it done. She took the time to be thorough and checked her work. I asked for Cotton Candy as my color. She was unsure of what that was so she asked her peer. I thanked her for not assuming or guessing therefore putting the wrong color. Overall, this was a great experience. the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Please see the photos of my nails. I asked for gel mani and regular pedi among a group of women I brought in days before our Hawaii trip. It took my technician TWO hours for the services and it was really just polish as I asked for no cuticle services and didn't have any polish to remove. I didn't even distract her by talking to her as I could tell she was trying very hard on the nails and I had family there anyway. Everyone ended up waiting for me and we didn't get to go to dinner with how long it took. The next day I called and asked for a refund. The lady on the phone knew we were leaving for Hawaii so told me she'd write in a redo required on the date we got them done. flash forward to me calling for the redo, scheduling, calling the night before to confirm (because it was an hour away from me), showing the current technician the previous pictures, and then her yelling at me when it comes time to pay because I informed her it was a re-do. it left me speechless and out of $100 (for the two terrible visits). luckily no one has ever spoken to me like that before so I didn't know what to do. No one in my group will be going back and everyone from my group will be advising others not to. read more

Before service we showed the nail tech a photo of the design my daughter wanted on her nails. With confidence the tech said, Yes I can do that design. Through the process I kept asking her what she doing. I don't get my nails done professionally nor do I do nails do nails. So I had no idea what she was doing. All of sudden she asked is that all you want. I looked at it and said what do you mean? Her nails don't even look finished. So she starts talking to my daughter. You like don't you this what you want right? I told her I'm paying for it not her and that's not what she asked for. So I showed the other techs in the store. I don't know who was in charge. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. The nail tech, Michele, had an attitude and was rough with my hands, the man who seemed to be the manager with obnoxious with his staff. He held an argument in another language with an employee who was apparently late. That's all I understood. The nail job was horrible. I tried to go back so she could fix a nail she incorrectly "filled" and I got some more attitude and got blew off by the manager. I wish I would of checked the reviews before I went there but I was in a rush to get my nails done before reporting for work. I just got here and am still looking for a good nail salon. read more

It was not good quality work at all!! I was extremely disappointed with the quality of nail polish and customer service they had!! I could have done a better job at my own house! This joint in hidden under the stairs if you come in from Starbucks area. It's all the way to the corner by the food court. They accept walk in and you don't have to wait for too long. The Male manager came across kind of rude at first but after I sit there for a while I realized he just have different sense of humor and wittiness. I was doing manicure and pedicure, it was done by two different workers. The pedicure was good enough not a lot of massaging going on and was pretty quick service, she does not speak much English so I had a hard time explaining what I want. The other female lady who did my manicure speak good English but the quality of work was a bit lacking, it's hard to see but the side of my nails not all fully coated so it looks a bit rough. I came here a few times with my daughters. I have got my nails and eyebrows done here, for the most part the staff is friendly and attentive. The interior: Nail Trix is one of the nicer places to get your nails done in Columbia. The establishment is very clean, the ambience of this location will put you in a relaxed state of mind. Overall 4 stars The quality of services: The service is okay, if you're not a regular, you will get whatever nail-tech is next in line. Pros: You might get lucky and get a nail-tech who is great and your nails look on point. Cons: You get the guy/girl who no one will return too. Overall 3 1/2 stars I would give this place 4 stars however, the last time I was there my daughters nail gel was not done that great (hint not regulars). The guy who painted my nails kept wiping his dripping nose with the top of his hand (5x gross) he was not going to wash them either. I had to offer him hand sanitizer because he touched my hands right after wiping that nose. This is why they lost 1 star. read more

I had my wedding workup (Mani/Pedi, eyebrow wax) done here and while it looked fabulous for a day I certainly would hesitate about coming back. My biggest issue was with the manicure. The woman took forever and it seemed like she was constantly interrupted to man the front desk. She barely trimmed/filed down my nails during prepping, which is something of a concern given my nails are naturally a little rounded which left a huge gap between the false nail and my regular nail. That's a big no-no since that can be a breeding ground for germs. Also she barely touched the cuticles and then to top off the prep work barely filed/scored my left hand nails in prep for the full set. Shoddy prep work and shoddy work after that too. Gaps where I could see my nail, super glue left on my cuticles, places where they didn't even get polish on, also the nails on my right were longer than my left. Thank god I got this done the day before my wedding because the day after that you could see large pockets where the nail had started to come up. I could only stand it a few days longer when, on my honeymoon, I hunted down acetone nail polish and removed them myself. The Pedi seemed to be fine though I didn't get as much time in as my sister, mainly because my manicure took so long. Eyebrow wax was fine too, though the room was a little iffy compared to the rest of the salon, I will probably go back in a few months to have my brows done again. The full set was too expensive for the quality, pedi and wax seemed reasonably priced though. read more

I had my nails done here this evening. And I'll start by saying that they do look nice. But for what I paid for them, I really was quite disappointed. When you walk in they do rush you into picking a color and what you want done. I already knew what I wanted, but it still seemed a bit rushed. Once seated, the technician began work right away. I had asked for the gel white tips. Long story short, I chew my nails so they're pretty tiny. She did not add length to my tips which is what I had originally intended on getting. Instead of saying anything (they were pretty busy and she was obviously trying to get through this manicure) I just decided to go for the regular manicure instead. She didn't really talk to me either, and they had the TVs on mute, so it was also a bit awkward. Upon paying, it was 34 dollars. Which was not the price they advertised on the signs in the front. I think paying 34 dollars for getting your nails simply painted is just outrageous. Especially since I walked out with the same tiny nails I had when I went in. Yes they look nice, but I won't be going back again. Definitely not a "spa" environment at all. read more

Before Christmas I went to go get my side burns waxed . They did a TERRIBLE JOB. Over priced for ugly side burn. They still left hair on my side burns and they waxed like 8 times. When I told the lady there still waxing to do she didn't want to because "it will burn my skin." So she plucked them instead. Waxing is not their specialty. read more

I don't think this place is as bad as everyone thinks...I mean there's room for improvement, but my gel color has been on for a week now with no problems-and my toes still look great...so I can't complain. I was a little uncomfortable with the instruments they were using because some of them weren't in sterile bags...so it made me feel weird...and the nail dude did make my fingers sore for two days after (he trimmed skin under my nails by my fingertips, which no one has done before and I feel wasn't necessary)...either way-I won't come here REGULARLY but will if I need service fast and am too lazy to go to my usual place (lol the mall is like right across the street from me) read more

Not great .Have been twice in the past month because my preferred salon is closed on Sunday. Technician seated me right away for a pedi - 1. Water cool - she seemed annoyed when I asked her to add hot h20. 2. Pedi lacked any effort whatsoever. Cuticle portion, filing , massage - all done with a lackadaisical attitude. So disappointing when your really looking forward to the relaxing steps of a pedicure. 3. Tech annoyed when I wouldn't upgrade. Scrubbed my heels raw with sponge. Still sore the next day. 4. My first visit a few weeks ago - I watched tech use heel sponge to scrub dirty bowl when finished then put sponge back in container for next customer! Should have left then. I was a bit hesitant to come here, based on reviews, but I was seated immediately and they were nice enough to use the gel polish I brought from home. My technician was a bit cold and not personable at all, she would make faces to the technician beside her and rudely remarked how my nails were too short and that she could tell that I cut them myself. I have pretty thick skin growing up in my own Asian family so I was used to it, just not openly at professional service. Despite this, she was efficient and patiently fixed up the little dings in my polish. Overall, I had a good experience here but I don't think I'll come back. read more

Ok I'll start with the positive: the girl who waxed my eyebrows did a good job. And it was inexpensive. On the the negative: I came here a few weeks ago to get a full set before I went on vacation. The guy who did them (I believe it was the owner as he was kind of managing the other employees the entire time) should not have been doing nails. My acrylics looked like they had been on for a week when he was done. It did not go all the way down to my cuticles. The nails were also all different shapes. It looked so bad. Then he painted them... I had paint all over my cuticles and he missed parts of my nail. A 10 year old could have done a better job. Was really unhappy. Worst pedicure I've ever had. Worst manicure I've ever had. I'm going to go somewhere else tomorrow to have both of them redone although I paid $46 for both this evening. This place is filthy, I should have noticed the dust and grime around the doorway when I came in. My nails look terrible and I didn't get any type of top coat on the pedicure so after wearing my sandals this evening, most of the toes are ruined. Manager - YOU NEED TO CLEAN YOUR PLACE, IT'S REALLY DIRTY. A woman was moved into the pedicure spa that I had just vacated and they didn't' even clean it in between - I watched. I came here the night before my birthday because the other nail salon I wanted to go to was doing a party. I came here because I live in Town Center. Worst mistake I could make. In the middle of my manicure the man doing my nails starts full on arguing with another worker. It was actually scary. So clearly he wasn't paying attention to my nails. Arguing for a whole hour in front of customers is so unprofessional! He even messed up my paint, and had to repaint them. Then I went to dry, and he had the nerve to rush me when my nails were definitely not dry yet, and messed them up again! I was so annoyed with him, and the other lady arguing who came over to apologize to me. A disappointment and a waste of money. My nails didn't even look like the coffin style I wanted. Well, I got my nails done with gel. Thursday at noon & 4 peeled off by Sunday night. The woman who did my nails was very sweet and I liked her. But unfortunately that doesn't justify my terrible gel manicure. I will say that she also did my spa pedicure and they seem to be holding up just fine... but the gel is where the issue is. Also, the manager is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I even had to tell him to back off and he was too aggressive in his tone and it made me uncomfortable. He apologized. This is a place where I stopped by to get a fill and boy was i not pleased when i left. I came in and was immediately rush with "pick a color" "what do you want to do?" I told them im getting a fill, but i left out gel by accident. As a technician, if you see that its not regular acrylic you are supposed to tell the client the price difference. It wasn't until after i was almost done when I asked for the total and she said 27, 3 dollars for cutdown and 24 for fill. I was upset but had to just pay it because i was in a rush. the way she shaped and filled my acrylics were fine and showed she has skills but her paint skills were mediocre. how do you miss spots on a nail? There were spots on my nails that clearly missed the second coat. Then she rushed me to dry them by saying "sit over there i have another customer" excuse me?! I will not be returning, not worth my money. Oh and they talk too much among one another instead of focusing on providing good customer service. It's really cramped inside too, their color selection was mainly Red, name the shade they probably had it. First impression failed for me. I got some acrylics done here, they began lifting within 2 days. The man who did them just took off my polish and immediately began putting the tips on. The acylic covered my cuticles. There were large bubbles. When I went back to see if I could get them fixed he was very, very rude. He said that he would pay me if I could find someone better than him. I had one of the worst manicures here. First, I was seated in a chair that backed up against where they stood for the cash register so I was constantly being bumped. The man who gave me a manicure was friendly, but did a terrible job. He filed my nails down below the tip of my fingers. I had one broken nail and he said he was making them all even. Then the manicure itself was awful. He barely touched my cuticles and the polish job looked like it was done by an eight-year-old. The manicurist kept wiping off the polish to start over. I'm not sure if this guy is a regular manicurist, but I believe he is because the salon was practically empty and there were tons of manicurists sitting around not busy who could have taken me. I got a pedicure done two weeks ago and had a horrible experience of the technician tearing off my skin on my left second toe. While he was cleaning the cuticles off, he ripped my skin and without an apology, abruptly put some kind of antibiotic liquid on it, as if nothing happened. I know that bleeding is not too uncommon when it comes to pedicure, but the way technician handled the issue made me really angry and disappointed. It hurt really bad but because the technician acted like it was no big deal, I couldn't even express much until later, when I told him that the spot hurt a lot. He responded by saying that it will stop bleeding soon because he applied the liquid. No sign of regret or apology. I'm never going back here. read more
