I was really looking forward to my appointment after seeing their ads, and the woman who greeted me at the door was lovely. Unfortunately, that is where the positive experience ended. The technician was incredibly rude right from the consultation. I needed a full set and wanted a pedicure, too. When I tried to explain what I wanted for my feet, she became loud and told me not to "tell her what to do." I was simply trying to communicate my preferences, which is standard for any customer. She insisted I should just say "make it look good" and leave it at that. I felt embarrassed and nearly walked out mid-service. She also tried to talk me out of a pedicure, saying if I didn't like the way they were I should stop looking at my feet. I have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism at a nail salon. While the nails and feet did turn out looking nice, the bad attitude and complete lack of tact from the technician ruined the visit. A 2-star rating is generous, as the customer service here desperately needs improvement. I'm really disappointed with my experience. I had my nails done here less than a week ago, and they're already lifting, uneven, and starting to discolor. That's much sooner than expected for a set like this, especially with proper care. I came back hoping the salon would stand behind their work, but I was told I would need to pay again to have them fixed. That was frustrating, since the issue seems to be with the original application rather than normal wear.I understand that things can happen, but I believe there should be some level of accountability this soon after the service. I chose the Herbal Detox pedicure which is the top package for manicure and pedicures. The staff is very friendly and skilled. In the pedicure station the massage chair was nice and they had an included QR code for the menu options. And wireless device charging. Literally you can have fruit to eat and fruit for your feet, talk about spa treatment. This spa is in a prime location at the Merriweather District which hosts some amazing restaurants and nearby to the local mall. For this not being a luxury spa I definitely feel like I have luxury treatment. I'm actually very excited to return. You get a lot of value for the top package so I will surely recommend. I loved my experience at Allure Nails & Spa! This place is conveniently located in the new merriweather district right near Dok Khao and smashing grapes with plentiful free parking. They truly have a spa like space that is so pretty and clean inside. I liked the overall zen and generally quiet atmosphere with instrumental music playing that was honestly so relaxing I could have fallen asleep and found myself almost dozing off a couple times. My pedicure was fantastic and Kenny thoroughly rejuvenated this mama's tired toes. He gave the best massage and was super attentive during my service, checking in to see if I needed drink refills , fresh fruit, or more snacks and whether I liked the work he was doing. I LOVED the work he did on my feet and toes. This was one of the best pedicures I've had in a long time and I can't recommend Kenny enough. Kai was nice too, but BUSY. So many people that came in appeared to be Kai's regulars or had booked Kai based on online reviews that Kai was definitely overbooked on a Sunday morning and asked if I would be fine being serviced by Angel. Insert nail tech extraordinaire and super sweet Angel who designed my nails exactly how I wanted them AND she was fast, too!! She wasn't on her phone or socializing or making small talk with her coworkers stalling me from getting home to my child, which has been my experience at some other salons. I sat down in her chair and she got right to business and knocked out my inspo pic I showed her, flawlessly. She checked in throughout the time to ensure everything was to my liking and I not only loved my nails but also love how professional and pleasant Angel was. Angel also showed me some of the nail designs she'd done earlier that day and earlier in the week, and her artistry is AMAZING. She can execute an inspo pic just the way you want and gets you in and out of the chair in reasonable time too, so as much as I'd like to keep them all to myself lol... I can't recommend Angel for nails and Kenny for pedicures, enough. Note: They are pretty pricey here but they give you bang for your buck. I had a 12:00 appointment with Crystal. Looking back, I probably should have realized from the beginning that the appointment wasn't going to go well. When I arrived, the first thing Crystal asked was whether I had made my appointment that same day. I told her I had scheduled it at 9:30 a.m. She responded by saying she had planned to take her daughter to lunch at noon. I'm not sure why that was relevant to my appointment, but as a new customer, it gave me the impression that she would have preferred to leave for lunch than take on new business. If she wasn't available, that time should have been blocked from the schedule. She then asked how I found her, and I told her I had been referred. My daughter had mentioned that Crystal has a bad attitude but continues to see her because she likes her work. I should have taken that as a warning. I explained that I wanted a blue cat-eye nail design. Crystal told me that because I currently had dip powder on my nails, everything would need to be soaked off rather than simply doing a fill. That was fine with me. However, what she failed to explain was that I would also need a completely new set of nail tips, which would increase the cost. She never discussed this with me, asked what length I wanted, or explained the additional charge before starting the service. As she began shortening my nails, I noticed her technique was unusual. My hands were positioned with the backs facing her, and instead of clipping or filing my nails toward me, she bent them backward toward herself. I have never had a nail technician remove length this way, and had my nails been any longer, it could have been very painful. After wrapping my nails to soak off the dip, she walked away to start the water for my pedicure. At that point, I realized I would now be paying for an entirely new set of tips, so I decided to skip the pedicure to keep the cost down. When I told her I no longer wanted the pedicure, she turned around and said, "Well, then you're just going to have to sit there and let your nails soak." Her tone was unprofessional and dismissive. About ten minutes later, she returned to check on me. By then, I had decided I no longer wanted to continue with the service. I told her I would not be needing her services that day. She simply said, "That's fine." I removed the foil and cotton from my nails and went to the front desk to ask for a manager. A woman named Corey came over. I asked twice whether she was the manager, and she said she wasn't but that she could help. I explained that my concern was not about the removal process itself, but that Crystal had never informed me I would need new tips, never discussed the added cost, and never asked me about my preferred length before beginning the service. Instead of addressing those concerns, Crystal interrupted to explain her process for removing dip. I explained that, from a customer's perspective, what matters most is understanding the price, the length, the color, and how the desired result will be achieved. Every nail technician has their own process, but customers deserve clear communication about what they are paying for before the service begins. During our conversation, Corey abruptly walked away to help another customer without explaining she would be back. When she returned, she again tried to explain the process instead of addressing my concerns. At that point, I decided to leave. Overall, this experience was a complete waste of my time. Crystal's attitude was unprofessional from the moment I arrived, and despite talking at length, she failed to communicate the information that actually mattered. I also believe someone should review her nail removal technique, as I have never experienced my nails being bent backward while being cut down. I left extremely disappointed and will not be returning. I also told my daughter to consider finding another nail technician. If you are reading this review, remember that talent alone is not enough. A great technician should communicate clearly, treat customers respectfully, and make them feel valued. Good service matters just as much as good results. read more

I have been here three times and have been pleased with my results so far. My first two visits I was serviced by Anna and she was very creative and giving me what I wanted and really sweet. My first time I tried gel X which was OK but not my favorite. It also weaken my nails a lot. The next time we just did regular gel polish, which was fine. When I booked for my third appointment, I noticed Anna's name was no longer on the list. Not sure what happened to her, but I made a reservation with Kai instead, based off other reviews. I thought Kai was a woman but then again I'm not really sure if they even paid attention to who I booked with. A man did my nails. I don't remember his name, but he was good as well. I showed him a design that he didn't seem confident about, but he did an OK job with the design. They are not exact, but they are close. Also, when I went in for this last appointment, I talked to the lady at the front about my nails breaking, and she suggested a different type of gel which was exactly what I needed. My last nail tech used the same gel, but I didn't know what it was called so this was perfect. Overall, I've had a great experience there. The people are nice and they serve refreshments if you want them. And the music is always a good mix, but never too loud. And they're super close to home which helps. read more

I had a funeral to attend and needed them done, and the way they looked only added more stress to an already emotional day. The only reason I agreed to see Mimi again was because I wanted to give her a chance to redeem herself; I figured maybe she was just having a bad day the first time. But I should have known--when someone is always available, that's usually not a good sign. I've been trying to schedule with Kenny--the first technician I saw, who did a good job, but every time I try, he's either booked or leaving early. The second time I visited the salon, I had actually scheduled with Kenny, but when I arrived, I was told he was leaving early and was switched to Mimi instead. Scheduled an appointment for gel pedi and dip mani. Pedicure was great and when we started on the manicure she started doing gel and I explained I wanted dip. She said she didn't have a color match for dip so she did a no color dip with a gel overlay. I explained that I didn't think that would work because in the past gel has chipped/peeled off almost immediately for me. She told me it would last 3 weeks and reassured me it would be fine so I trusted her. Unfortunately my instincts were right and less than 24 hours later it had started chipping. I returned to request a refund and was told they can't do refunds but they can fix them and I explained how I didn't have time. They told me it would be quick and I ended up staying for the fix. This was my first appointment at Allure . The customer service was great . I called last minute at the end of the day to schedule a pedicure. Allure was able to squeeze me in and I had a great nail technician by the name of Tiffany . My nails looked great . The price point was great, and the spa was clean and nicely decorated. Keep trying nail salons to find one that's actually good. It's not here. Came in with an appointment to get my PolyGel nails removed and a basic parrafin manicure. They looked at my nails like they were bizarre and didn't know how to remove them, despite them having similar products (PolyGel/Tap gel) on the shelves. Had me soak my hands in acetone even after I already told them that wasn't going to work. Finally, they filed off the old nails and did the manicure. The tech had to ask the boss twice about what a parrafin manicure entailed (I think) and it wasn't relaxing in the slightest. It's like he forgot how to do a regular, just normal polish, manicure. He made it too thick and it wasn't drying. Had to redo the whole thing. They made me feel like I was an inconvenience and weird for not getting gel. I won't go back and wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I wanted to try builder gel. I love the shape and french, however I had a short tips glued on to give length. Although I thought a structured manicure/ builder gel was supposed to be builder gel only shaped into an extension. One of the tips lifted a few hours after I got home. A simple glue down would have been all I needed but since I couldn't come in right away they asked me to send them a picture to give to the manager. I had a horrible experience at this nail salon. The staff is very unprofessional and unskilled. I went to get my eyebrows waxed, and they ended up shaving my eyebrows. The person who did it name Ann Neguyen. After she shaved off my brows, I can see her nervousness but wouldn't even say sorry. She tried to tell me with her broken English I showed up like that. And the worst situation is this happened on Christmas Eve. They messed up my family photo shoot plan. There solution is we can tint it. They can't grow my eyebrows overnight, and how tinting my skin without the hair supposed to fix it. Plus I don't trust them to come anywhere close to me after what they have done. Police had to come to even give me her name or the manager information. They keep saying no manager on site. Once the police showed up, one lady claimed she is the manager but she had been in the salon the whole time this was going on. This place is fraud! I am suing this business. They need to go out of business! I would stay away from this place if I were you. If there is a negative star, that is what I would give them. I had a pedicure with MiMi. She was thorough and very attentive. Initially, she provided a snack and some water. Delightful. Then we began the pedicure. She was very careful to not hurt me as I explained that I had sore feet and an ingrown toenail. I know why I do my own nails. Got my nails done because i didn't have time to do them myself. I felt like the tech skipped steps with doing my dip. She did not put any bond on the nails which helps to prevent lifting. After applying the first layer of dip, my nails weren't brushed off thoroughly to lessen the chance of contaminating the liquids. There was still contamination anyway because with applying the second layer of base, she did not wipe off the brush on a paper towel before dipping it back into the base liquid. When completed and i did my last hand wash, she did not reapply any activator in order to put on the top coat. Instead, she had the UV light and gel liquids to apply for my top coat. I have developed a gel allergy and I do not like gel as my top coat nor do I want to stick my hand under the UV light. This should be asked as to which you prefer and not assumed. Needless to say, they need to Google the correct steps in applying dip powder and realize how contaminating your liquids ruin them. I paid $70 for removal, manicure and dip that was rushed. What a rip off and not worth it. I will never go here or anywhere else again. I will just wait until I can find the time to do my own nails. read more

Save your money time and patience with this place!!!! Long story short, they deleted my review on Google. I got an acrylic set done while it was nice it wasn't what I asked for. They told me that estimate would've been $70 for this and jacked it up to 80. I wasn't going to argue with these people after being there for two hours (it doesn't take two hours to do acrylic, especially if it doesn't have any special design ) A week and a half later my middle one came off and yesterday my pinky one came off. She rushed through my service and filed the top of my nails SO much taking off my previous dip powder, that it was hot and burning. I asked multiple times to please stop filing so much and to let them soak, that it would make them thin and they would easily break and she assured me it was ok.
