My first time here, but I can't say I'll be back. I get a pedicure regularly (yes, guys can - and should - get a pedicure; take care of your feet!). But the place I normally go to, the lady who I went to has moved away so I thought I would give this place a try since it's in my neighborhood. It's in a small strip mall with plenty of free parking. I walked in without an appointment and they took me right away. The spa chairs are pretty nice. Very comfortable and the tub you put your feet in was larger than average and that was nice. The woman who was taking care of my feet was very nice and all was going well until she handed me a "menu". I thought when you go for a pedicure, that was it... I didn't realize there were other options and honestly, I was a bit put out by the sales pressure. If there are other options, why don't you ask me before we start the pedicure? We are right in the middle of it and I'm relaxed and then you had me a menu! To me, I just wanted a 'regular' pedicure whatever that is supposed to be. When I said I didn't understand she kept pointing at additional options... again, something she should have discussed with me BEFORE starting the pedicure. I was all relaxed and enjoying the experience and she just ruined all of that. I told her I just wanted a regular pedicure and she gave me look that she was disappointed I didn't pick something more expensive. From that point on, the pedicure felt rushed and she seemed not to care at all about the work she was doing. When it was over (significantly less time than pedicure's I've receive elsewhere) she started rubbing my feet/legs with some warm smooth stone. I have no idea what that was supposed to do other than waste time, but I could have done without. The place I normally go to, I have been going to for 16 years and just thought I would give this place a try to see if I'm missing out on something just as good or better. Definitely not at this place. Too much of an upsell and lack of professionalism if you don't spend more money. Funny given when I walked in, there was only one other customer and the women were just sitting around waiting for people to come in. You think they would have given more care to someone since they are clearly not very busy. There are better places in the area. read more

I booked an appointment for 12pm in advance. I get there on time and end up waiting an hour for a chair to open up. I'm fine waiting 5-10 mins but this is ridiculous. I then asked for a discount due to the fact that I waited an hour when I had an appointment reserved in advance. They said no. Very disrespectful of my time and not a way to treat clients. read more

If I could give a "0" I would. This nail salon is in the same shopping center as my job so I decided to give it a try. TERRIBLE IDEA! First of all, I got there at 4:50pm. And the lady at the front desk asked what I needed and I said "dip." She said "ok, I have someone for you." So I sat down at the desk that she directed me to. And I should have know that the nail tech had no idea what she was doing when she said my nails were too short for dip. Anyone that gets dip knows that dip is for short nails. But any who, I let her continue. BIG MISTAKE! She managed to make 3 of my cuticles bleed. She confused the activator coat and base coat and she had to do a few nails over. She also had to ask 3 other nail techs for help. And it's now 6:21pm and she still hasn't finished. So I finally said "How much do I owe you for you to just stop and be done. You don't know what you're doing and this is taking too long. You've messed up too many times." So I agreed to pay half of the price (she didn't even deserve that ). But any who, what really grinds my gears is when I'm leaving the manager said I can come back and get my nails don't for free next time. BRUHHHHHHH.. If you just screwed up my nails, what makes you think I'm coming back?!? So I told the manager "I won't be back, y'all suck." Moral of the story is... DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS NAIL SALON! I got a pedicure and a gel manicure there a week ago. While I was getting a pedicure the woman burnt my foot with a hot cloth by holding it in one position for too long. Also, my pedicure is already chipping and I don't do crazy things that would cause it to chip this early. My manicure was also done poorly. The bottoms aren't flat and are starting to flip up. I also have some dents in my nail polish, where is should be smooth. Waste of money. Go somewhere else. ALSO, when I pointed out the flaws to the woman who did my nails, she said "it's just the oil" from when they massage your hands. I knew it wasn't but I didn't want to argue. I paid and left. I went to this salon for the first time last weekend because I was in the area and had an hour and a half to kill and wanted to get my nails done anyhow. There were two customers in the salon, nearing the end of their pedicures, and I asked for a gel mani and regular pedi. No one even looked up when I walked in and I had to initiate the conversation, which was not a huge deal, but was a little uncomfortable. The color selection was really small compared to other salons, but I didn't have a particular color in mind, so also not a huge deal. Usually, there are kits where they have a gel polish and a regular polish so you can match, and I saw a little section with those kits, so I picked one that I liked and waited maybe 5-10 minutes for the girl to start my pedicure. When I handed her the kit, I confirmed with her that it would be the same color polish for the gel and regular polish, because they were in the same kit. She assured me they were the same. The pedicure was mostly fine, but the woman doing my toes kept getting interrupted by calls on the business phone and her cell phone. She left my station at least 5 times, and at least 3 times took the calls while sitting there, but held the phone with one hand instead of like holding it between her ear with her shoulder, so either stopped doing my toes or once tried to cut the cuticles on my toenails with one hand?? I thought it was really unprofessional, especially since she never even made any comment like, "Sorry for the interruptions." I know lots of salons, some folks wear many hats, but she was so unfocused and unable to multitask. The pedicure looks fine, but took a really long time because of the interruptions. Then, we moved over for her to do my manicure. A lot of times, salons will have one person do your fingernails while you're getting your pedicure done to save time, but they didn't here (at least for me). So she started doing my manicure-- I did not have gel polish on my nails, just regular polish. I have never had a gel manicure take as long as this one did. Every single time she added a coat to any fingernail, she went back to the previous fingernails seemingly to "clean up" the polish on the edges with her own fingernail and/or a brush with acetone. Every single time! She painted a layer, then dabbed additional polish on, then painted another layer-- it was just all so unnecessary. She did two gel top coats, even though I told her I only needed one. And to be clear, if she was this meticulous and I had a phenomenal manicure, I wouldn't be complaining-- but I was in that salon almost 2.5 hours! And when I tell you she left polish on EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. of my fingertips! Which I didn't notice until I left the salon. The polish is way too thick at the tips because of the additional dabbing and the extra top coat, and simultaneously, the color at the base of some of my nails is translucent because she didn't evenly distribute the polish. Several of my nails were not cut straight across. I had to do some serious re-working with a nail file and cuticle cutters at home to correct what I could. And the kicker is-- when I got back home and saw my nails in natural light-- my toes are orange and my nails are pink. I could tell they looked a little different in the salon, but couldn't pay that close attention because my toes were under the table during the manicure. When I got home and looked at them in natural light, it's obvious they're two entirely different colors that the salon just placed in the same kit. Picture below. I'm starting to wonder if there are any good nail salons in San Diego. I mean, it doesn't seem like rocket science to give a good pedicure. I walked in without an appt because it was a Monday at 2:00. There was only 1 other woman client in there and 5 workers shooting the breeze. The ENTIRE time I sat in the chair, the woman doing my pedicure talked/laughed with the other women in a foreign language. It was so freaking rude. And half the time she was turned away from me, randomly scrubbing (or not) my feet. WTH? I don't get it. Why does that seem like a good idea to any business? She did my toes half assed and left a bunch of polish on my skin. She barely scrubbed my feet. I was totally disappointed and would not bother going back. Overall 3.5 stars. I made an appointment through yelp, for that day. I walked in and was seated right away. I got a gel manicure, which I believe was $32 or $35. They had a lot of gel color options. The girl who did my nails was great, took off the old gel carefully, and did a good job filing and shaping my nails. She was very careful as she put on the gel and I could tell was doing a good job on the tips so that it wouldn't chip. The only reason for docked stars is because the gel mani lasted about 2 weeks, and then started chipping a lot. Usually my gel will last 3+ weeks. read more

I do not recommend this nail salon. Although I appreciate the effort that was put into my acrylic nails, I do not recommend asking for a design. I simply asked for flowers on my nails, but my technician continued to mess that up. The final result was not great but good enough. There are two nail salons within walking distance of my home...this one being the closer of the two. My first visit here was during my Spring break, to meet some girlfriends for mani/pedi's & lunch. Smaller and less "assembly line" like than the other joint $30 for a mani pedi...not bad The massage chair I was in....made this awful loud noise...had to turn it off..ughhh I could walk there But the weirdest thing....I felt like I was on display...the hairs face a window and everyone who walks by is looking at you...just eerie. I don't want to give this place a one star, it would be a zero. I will never return to this Place. I got a refill on my acrylic with gel polish, (paid them what they asked even though none of the prices are posted) plus $6 cash tip. They quoted me a different price and another girl next to me a different price for the same services. I got this done on Thursday and by Friday One of my nail broke off and by Saturday I noticed bubbles all over my nails. Not to mention the Application of the refill was so uneven and bumpy. she cut me multiple times with her drill and didn't even apologize. My favorite nail salon finally reopened and I'm so glad they are back! This small salon is paying attention to all of the Covid 19 protocols including temperature taking, partitions and adequate spacing and lots and lots of sanitizing. I felt comfortable and safe and relaxed. There are many salons nearby but I prefer this one because the ladies are lovely and do a great job. My friend and I went here on Sunday & had such great services ! They took their time and gave us incredible foot massages to go along with our pedicures. I'm not sure why they don't have a better rating since the salon is very clean, they don't rush through your services which most places do, & their massage chairs work which is an added bonus. I've been coming here for about 16 months (since we moved to Del Mar from the Midwest), and I love it! The gals who work here are so sweet and always ensure you're relaxed and enjoying yourself - something you don't often find at a nail salon. While Nails 2000+ is close to my house, I would drive out of my way to come here every couple of weeks! Prices are competitive and I never have a problem getting in and out in less than an hour. I got my nails done here about 6 days ago. I'm not all that particular, so I usually prefer a place that's less expensive. I was in a rush and didn't want to drive far, so I paid $32 for a Mani/Pedi...pretty standard (but I try to get it done for less). Well...my nail polish STILL hasn't chipped. And ladies, we all know that a regular manicure does not last 6 days. I don't know if it was the lady's skill, the scythes it was just one coat, or what...but I'm pretty happy that's it's lasted this long. The only drawback us that they only accept cash. Just went to have only polish, since I was in a hurry. It was the worst experience I have ever had in a nail salon. The person who was assigned to me(did not inrroduce herself), had one of her "regulars" walk in as she was starting my nails. She was in such a hurry to get rid of me, it was pathetic. The polish was smeared before I even got out of there, and she did a very poor job painting. She did not cover the entire nail and she smeared all over. If you need to get your nails done in the Del Mar Highlands/Carmel Valley area, this is by far your best bet. The prices are good (cash & checks ONLY), the staff is friendly (though you need to nip the up-sells in the bud ASAP), and I've never personally had to wait as a walk-in. It's a smaller salon, so it seems more comfortable and cleaner than the big warehouse nail places. Good polish & magazine selection....and waxing in the back. read more

This place was close and I figured since I was in a jam I would go there and if they did a good job maybe I would change nail salons since this one would be convenient for me... my first visit I left there feeling horrible because my nails were uneven and painted even worse. This is the worst nail salon I've ever been to. The customer service is terrible, the ladies don't understand anything. She told me to come back in 30 mins so I did and goes on to tell me it's going to be another 30 mins. They had me waiting for so long. On top of all that they don't have many color options, they only accept cash and it was overall completely unprofessional. Small place and a lot of people.
