I went in to have my toenails trimmed. I was pleased that they seated me promptly. I've never had a…read morepedicure or had anyone trim my nails before, but advancing years and arthritis in my hands have made it necessary for me to get some help with it. The nail tech seated me at a station with a not really clean looking towel already placed on the foot rest. She then went in back and came out with a plastic tote that had a few tools laying in it loose. Like nail clippers and emory boards, etc. I saw no evidence that they had been cleaned or sterilized. They weren't packaged. I understand that the typical sanitation protocol is for the tools to be autoclaved to prevent spreading fungus and bacteria from one customer to the next. I probably should have objected but the tech went to work on my feet so fast I didn't really have time to think about it. Like I said earlier, I haven't had any experience with having someone cut my toenails or giving me a pedicure, so I'm not really sure whether to be concerned about this or not. But I thought I ought to bring it up so people would know. I wish I had this information before I made my appointment. I don't think I'll be going back.

They overbooked clients and still took walk-ins even after we had an appt. We were left waiting too long for our services. They left my mom soaking in acetone for incredibly too long which wore down the skin on her hands and then her fingers were cut badly. 7 of her 10 fingers were cut and 2 very bad. They didn't offer anything to make it right (although nothing can change the pain she now has). I wanted to like this salon, even saw the owner helping out, which is encouraging, but nothing can overshadow the fact that she was harmed during her services. As someone who works in healthcare, this is very bad and they should be held to the same standard as others that provide services. Shame shame

I followed her instructions and even waited to wash it 1 week later. The bottom 2 inches were not straightened and my hair was thick and uncontrollable. I called Veda. They talked to Courtney. Supposedly I had done it with the flat iron which was not true. Told to use more moisturizer on the ends. They couldn't do another thermal treatment, which I didn't ask for. Just wanted a trim and some blending. They wanted to charge me after I had just paid $479 which included her tip!!. Be careful who you trust with your hair. Especially when you pay so much and expect a good job. I guess I expected too much! I personally shall not be returning to this Veda again.

Reminded stylist that she was asked to cut bangs, take off old frayed ends, and add layering in back for volume and highlights for dimension that was discussed TWICE in consult and seen in photos reviewed with stylist prior to service. Mateos stylist refused refund (via text) after coming back and showing manager the poor results Mateos stylist charged for. 8/11/2026 Veda corrected $215.00 + $43.00 tip And got it perfectly right $660.00 expense as a result of very poor service and lack of accountability with stylist at Mateos.
