Remembering this location, I made an appointment online with Mariam for Saturday at 11am. I arrived 10 minutes early, and she was ready for me. I warned her in advanced that I'm terrified of the drill and nail file, so I would most likely flinch or make a funny face when it is in use. Unfortunately, my fear is so much worse than I thought because I was uncontrollably squirming/ tensing up, and truly just being a nightmare client. Mariam was SO EXTREMELY patient, kind, and gentle with me. She kept checking in to make sure I was okay, and would announce when the scary part was done. I was so embarrassed by my behavior, but she was very sweet. In addition to her kindness, she was fast. I got a Russian manicure with fast gel (no removal) for $85 (and a $2.47 service fee). The whole process took 45 minutes. The color came out exactly how I wanted it to, and I was very please with how uniform the shape of the nails were. FYI: There are two Beauty By Lid locations. One is for hair, eyebrows, facials, etc, while the other one is the nail salon. The nail salon location has a smaller and tighter parking lot.

I complied and left. The disturbing part is I was already sitting and waiting before being told I had to leave and the manager (Maritza) did not say anything about this policy while I sat there. I was told their policy is online (which I reviewed after the fact) when customers book their appointment that they read and understand that guests are not allowed before booking. They claim to welcome walk-ins so I asked a hypothetical question: If a single mother (with no online appointment booked) walked in with her child if she would be able to get service? I was told no she would be turned away because the child (regardless of age) is a guest. DEFINITELY NOT CUSTOMER OR KID FRIENDLY! I considered getting service today or in the future but after this HORRIBLE experience, I DEFINITELY WILL NOT and DEFINITELY WILL NOT recommend their business to anyone based on this experience. Thankfully there are more customer service friendly and welcoming outgoing nail businesses that will treat you 1000% better even if you're waiting for someone. This is an overall reflection on the ineffective ownership's leadership and managers inability to properly handle situations like this with better and proper customer service etiquette. Perhaps had there been effective leadership and management this situation would have handled more professionally and properly. At least consider posting signage at the front door and within the store for those that do walk-ins or that are guests of customers (that did not read the online policy) so there is visible transparency. I usually go for Gel-X french tips, but on occasion we will do something fun. Every time she's done something out of the ordinary, I'm obsessed with my nails. She is very talented and quick with nail art. Amy is also very accommodating.
