I started coming to Tipsy Nail about 5 months ago after my usual nail lady moved out of state. I wanted to wait in writing this review to ensure that there was consistency of the service...well there is! This place is amazing! Every technician is impeccable. The attention to detail with nail art is impressive. My last visit I came in with 2 broken nails (like all the way to the skin!) and they fixed them up and look exactly like my natural nail!! Important to note: if you want nail art (including French) you have to book it separately on their booking system...not horrible just a little different than most places. I went to this place for the first time about a month ago and got my nails done by a nail tech who was AWESOME! Her acrylic fill was really beautiful - the only thing is that she didn't ask me if I wanted them trimmed... luckily my nails were still pretty short from my previous fill so it didn't really matter at that time. When I went to go pay, my receipt said $40 and the lady checking me out told me that next time there would be an extra charge for the length of my nail (medium-long I think?), so it would actually be $45. But because my receipt said $40 they would honor it. I was like cool that's fair thanks for honoring the $40 (it said "starts at $40" or something on the booking app when I was booking my appt.) I went in again 2 weeks later and saw a different nail tech. She was really cool, she gave me some advice about maybe trying Gel X sometime and was telling me the benefits of Gel X vs acrylics (and I have been doing acrylics for a LONG time). Honestly she pretty much sold me on switching over... But there were just a couple of things that I felt were weird. The first weird thing was that when I asked for her to trim my nails, she said it would be a $5 charge! I have NEVER been charged to trim my nails at any salon before. My nails aren't even that long, I have to keep them at a reasonable length because I have kids and I wouldn't be able to function if they were super long. So I was like.. ok well maybe with the base price of $40, they have to upsell.. But now I'm technically at $50 for a fill (nail length and then nail trim), but whatever. Then I pick a color - glittery green for an event I was going to. The glitter colors on that form didn't have any kind of extra charge that I could see - others had like $10 or $15 extra charge for designs/cateye etc, and the upcharge was written on those little forms with all the nail colors you can get. But I don't recall seeing anything for the glitter colors. When I went to go check out... the price ended up being $55!! I was pretty shocked. I should have probably questioned it at the counter but honestly I figured I would just go elsewhere for my next fill cuz I didn't really wanna deal with fighting my receipt that day. Just wasn't in the mood. The acrylic fill I got the second time was OK, but she had superglued my index nail because it was lifting before the fill..which I had also never seen done before. Usually my nail techs will cut that part off then buff it down before continuing the fill, but she literally just superglued my nail down. Then a week later my index nail lifted completely lol. The tech DID tell me that I was due for a complete new set, which I was planning to do at my next appointment with Gel X, but I'll be doing that at a different salon that is a bit more transparent with their pricing... A bummer, because this place is actually pretty nice! And everyone I talked to was very nice too. I honestly just don't really like the unusual (to me) extra charges that started popping up as I was getting my nails done. I have been to quite a few nail salons and being charged for both a nail trim AND my nail length just doesn't feel right. I've seen different charges for almond vs square (which I have), and I think that's fair cuz I know it's easier to shape square than almond. I would still recommend this place overall because the vibe is really nice and so are the people, they burn incense and I LOVE that smell- just maybeee... clarify the final tab before going through with any services? I love how easy it was to book an appointment - and on the same-day! I got a French pedicure done by Judith. I'm not a very talkative/social person, but I found it easy to talk with Judith. At first, I was unsure on what I wanted to do, and she was very patient while I figured it out. Also, they happened to have a special on their IG page and they easily honored the sale price. I thought that was a great perk as a first-time customer! The whole vibe of the salon is clean and Queen energy. Although it's located in a plaza, parking is available (and FREE!) on-site. Doing what I should've done 2 months ago. I failed to make it to my appointment due to unforeseen events and missed my appointment. It was a no show. I understand this takes away from other clients booking reservations and that was an honest mistake on my part. However, this was my ONE AND ONLY TIME DOING SO. So what did they decide to do? Charge me for the entire set ($85 dollars). I would understand a $10 no show fee but $85 dollars!? That's ridiculous! They didn't call me once to ask if I was coming in or even notify me of the charges or authorize the payment on my cardI Anyway, I called and apologized for missing my appointment, explained the situation and requested a refund since this was my first and only time doing a no show. They told me to send an email or DM their Instagram to request a refund when they could've just done it right there. They were so quick to charge my card but took their sweet time to issue a refund? Not to my surprise, they ignored my request. THEN I called my bank to dispute the charge. Funny enough, my bank informed me that they're not even ALLOWED to charge my card without notifying me first to authorize the charges, whether or not I agreed to the terms of their policy online. (Aka illegal) Yesterday, I requested an appointment because I was over it and this is the message I received. I thought of a million responses but figured this would be the best thing to do :) DO NOT GO HERE! This place is overpriced and the owners/workers are shady (aka Miranda and Maritza). The fact that you even have to put your card on file is a MAJOR red flag. While we're at it, $3 PER NAIL FOR A DESIGN??? Bye! Yesterday was my first time at Tipsy Nails. I had been going to another local business and wasn't happy with the quality of service and was looking to try somewhere new. I read a few reviews to see how to schedule an appointment online and set it up for 10 am the next day. My nail tech was running late, but luckily Maritza was available and she got started on me right away. When Miranda arrived, she took over. The girls were very friendly and professional during my appointment and Miranda did a great job on my nails, especially the design. I showed her an inspo picture from Pinterest and she was able to do exactly what I wanted. She checked in with me multiple times to confirm that I liked the color, design, filing, etc. Because it was my first time, I didn't know that when you booked nail art online, you needed to add 2 nail art slots if the design was complicated or on every nail. Luckily, Miranda was able to honor my request this time. And now I know how to book properly next time. She even made time to add a little something extra on one of my nails that we didn't plan on. I've been a loyal customer for several years now as you can see from my previous review and multiple photos here. I moved an hour away, but I made the time, effort and money to drive here every 3 weeks to show my loyalty. The more I came here throughout the years, the more uncomfortable I got. There were times when I would feel blamed for the nail artist's mistakes and times where they would get impatient with me. This past Saturday was the last straw and I unfortunately will not be doing business here anymore. I had booked a gel x full set, nail art and a gel pedicure. I still had my previous gel x set, but the online booking site won't let you book more than 3 sessions. When I got to the shop I gave the nail artist 3 pictures and asked her to chose which one will be the easiest and best for her to do. She stated that I can chose whichever one I wanted so I picked a style. She started off with removing my old set and starting the new one. She started getting irritated with me because she could not do the nail art fast enough and starts telling me that I should have added gel x removal to the booking in which I stated I already had 3 and couldn't add that in. She says "oh" and then proceeded to tell me how I should have done my pedicure in a separate booking. I had to help my mom move so I didn't have time to do my pedicure a different time than my nails. She tells me she only has 15 mins left to do my nails and starts rushing on my nails, making them messy and uneven. First of all, I gave her easier nail art to do before we started. If she didn't have time or if she couldn't do a certain nail art in a time frame she should have chose the easier one. It's not my fault and she should not blame me for being behind in time. Second, my pedicure was with a different nail artist. The one doing my nails apologized to the other one, I'm pretty sure they said something about me in Spanish under her breath and giggled to one another. I felt uncomfortable, anxious and awkward. By the time I started my pedicure session, I was late to help my mom and had to leave early. The artist doing my pedicure put lotion on my feet and legs to massage them before painting them. I told her that I'm sorry, but I have to leave early because i'm running late to help my mom. I told her i'd pay for whatever charge they want to give me, but I got to dip. My feet were slippery from the oil or lotion and I almost slipped and fell on my face. I had to make sure to hold on to the pedicure chair while coming down so I don't. She did not help me down or help me put my sandals on. They charged me for a regular pedicure even though I have not had anything done to my feet except a massage. My total for everything was $140. No way should it cost that much for the quality and service I got. Don't even get me started on my session before that. So the story behind my boo! nails for Halloween is kind of ridiculous. I showed the nail artist a picture of pink and black nails that had a drawing of a mickey mouse ghost. She tried for like 30 mins to draw it, but it looked so funny, she asked the other nail artist to draw it and it also looked ridiculous. I ended up telling them hey it's okay just throw some ghost stickers on my nails and lets call it a day because they took almost 2 hours trying to do my Halloween nails. I was going to keep quiet and not say anything because i've been coming here for so long, but unfortunately I had enough. read more

I don't think I'll be returning here. When I came in I was greeted and was told to go to the bathroom to wash my hands, which is totally fine, but they do not have running hot water in the bathroom. Also on my way to the bathroom I looked at their soakers and they didn't look very clean to me except for one. The others had nail polish on them. They should take that off and have them completely white and clear of anything. Then time came for my gel pedicure and my nail technician is getting my water ready (the cleanest tub, yay!) and they do not use liners. I was disappointed in that and I felt a little uncomfortable, but I stayed. It had been so long since I had a pedicure, I really wanted one and just relax. My nail tech was a bit rough on my feet. When she filed my nails she was close to cutting me. I was feeling the heat of the friction and I pulled back a little bit to indicate to her she was going too hard. She stopped just in time. Then when cleaning around the nail bed she hurt me. I said "ohh" quietly and she stopped trying to pull out the little piece of skin she was having trouble cutting. I feel like the nail file she was using wasn't the right fit to properly shape my nails. Then the pumice scrub came out and she was also pretty firm with her pressure to my heals and she only scrubbed the heals. Later that night my heals felt like they were on fire. I'm thinking OMG I hope I don't get an infection! I had one spot on each foot where there was skin peeling from my inner heals. I made sure to wash me feet thoroughly and spray rubbing alcohol and then moisturize my feet. By the next day my feet started to hurt less. My technician was very nice though. No one was mean or anything like that. Not much was said in that salon. The chairs are cute, but they are not massage chairs. I really enjoy the massage chairs to help me relax during a pedicure. The music was fun to listen to and the music videos were cool to watch. Not much harm done, but this salon is not for me. read more
