Shelby is a true artist and professional, dedicated to making sure her clients feel beautiful when they leave her salon. She pays attention to every single detail; my nails always look perfect and I receive so many compliments from family and friends. I get them done every 4 weeks, and they last the entire time between appointments. It's been fun to get creative with my nails - I'm usually a minimalist when it comes to polish, but over the years we've done some fun nail designs with stickers, freehanded nail art, and chrome or magnetic details. I've also had a few dry pedicures with Shelby over the years, which are absolutely luxurious! If you haven't had a dry pedicure, I cannot recommend Shelby's service enough - it is ultimate pampering with hot towels, a scrub, and a rich, moisturizing cream, amongst other relaxing steps. I found Shelby via Yelp in 2015, so I have been seeing her every 4 weeks for 9 years! Now my daughter is starting her structured mani and dry pedi journey with Shelby. I won't go anywhere else and recommend Shelby to everyone that is willing to put the time/effort and related cost into their nails. If you value your time and money, and want the best looking, most healthy nails, you will not regret choosing Shelby! Here is my story . . . I used to be a bi-weekly plain gel mani and gel pedi for years (for work reasons I was afraid to have any length/structure added - worried about chips/breaks). But I was getting tired of trying to find salons that fit my schedule, were reasonably priced and in Vancouver (lots of trips to portland). I wanted a nail tech/manicurist that I could build a long term business relationship with. Enter Shelby. After building a relationship and trust, Shelby was able to convince me to try her structured mani. Life changing!!! Yes, Shelby's structured mani and a gel pedi takes 3-4 hours (she is a perfectionist), and the cost is reflective of the quality of work (see her info for current pricing), but I have absolutely beautiful nails and my preferred length, with no chips/cracks/damage, for 4 full weeks! That was it for me and I have never been back to plain gel manis. As a busy working mom, I don't have the time for bi-weekly visits for nail appts. And who wants to try to get in on short notice when they damage their nails? I schedule in advance the time needed for Shelby to do the job right, and then I don't have to think about it for another 4 weeks! And once you look at how much you spend in both funds and time with bi-weekly appts for fills, you will see Shelby's more thorough 4 week schedule costs about the same. And while I like to keep my structured manis on the shorter side, Shelby will tailor clients length, shape and style to their particular tastes. Just had my first manicure with Shelby on Wednesday. She was amazing! I was very impressed with her professionalism, friendliness, the cleanness and organization of her shop, her attention to detail, her creativity, her artistry, and how she didn't rush through doing my manicure. She was very gentle and I never had any pain. So, often manicurists are trying to rush and end up filing your skin, or are rough about it, but not Shelby. It was the most pleasant and relaxing manicure I have ever had. Shelby also educated me about gel nail polish, i.e., don't pick at it, peel it off, or try to remove it myself as it will damage the nails. She has an incredible variety of products for different nail art and design styles and it is all incredibly organized and clean. I had her do googly eyes and spider webs on my right hand and cat eyes and whiskers on the left for Halloween. The googly eyes and spider webs look even better than the picture I showed her to copy from Pinterest. The cat eyes are cute too. I can't stop staring at my nails, especially the googly eyes. I wish I could attach a picture of them to this review. Everyone who has seen my nails has loved them. A few ladies have even asked for Shelby's number. I highly recommend Shelby for getting your nails done. She also does hair removal and pedicures, but I didn't use those services. She told me she only works on natural nails, so if you are looking for acrylics, you need to find someone else. As for me, I will definitely be back to see Shelby in the future. read more

I've seen Shelby twice now and both experiences were great! I found Shelby on Instagram and it was perfect timing as the gal who I used to go to closed up shop My first session with Shelby I had a pedicure and dip and buff manicure. My dip and buff manicure lasted for over 2 weeks without chipping and my toenails with regular polish also did not chip. I am hard on my hands/nails both at work and working in my garden at home. I was very surprised that the dip and buff nail color came off easily without any damage to my nails. Now as far as her office goes it's super cute and clean!!! The location is easy to find and plenty of parking. Her treatment room is nicely set up and like I said extremely clean and professional yet comfortable. The only downside is that it's just Shelby so you won't be able to go with a friend but regardless totally worth it. read more

I went to see Shelby yesterday for the first time. What a wonderful experience. Her location is a bit confusing to find but well worth the trouble. When you enter her studio, you walk into a comfortable living room like atmosphere that is clean and welcoming. Her actual work station sits in an adjoining room that is very clean and professional. If getting a gel manicure, she hands you several rings with so many wonderful choices of color. I had a pedicure first, the water is nice temperature sitting on top of a heater built into the relaxing, vibrating chair. Her attention to detail had my toes look as pampered as they felt. Next came the gel manicure. My finger nails were so damaged. They were peeling and dried out and one thumb had a split going down the side. They were embarrassing. Shelby took extra time treating the problems and the outcome was amazing. If you looking for a quick stop place that is loud and busy, keep looking. Seeing Shelby for the first time 2 months ago for a natural gel mani/pedi was the best decision I ever made. She takes her time to do well, is enjoyable to talk to and has a clean, professional space tastefully decorated. She uses LED light, not UV :) No more Asian salons for me! No more cutting me! No more ripping off of the acrylic. I been getting acrylic nails for 20 years and my cuticles are ruined from that rotating file they use. Plus we found fungus on one toe, over half of it. I have pedicures performed by Shelby. She is a one woman shop, in a building with other small businesses. It's easy to miss the street she's on if you haven't been there before. It's a white street sign on the right, as you head north on 99 and just past the first stoplight after passing the I5 exit onto Hwy 99. If you pass Franz, you've gone too far. Shelby is personable, friendly and uses gentle products which don't aggrivate my sensitive skin. My big toe nail was half missing as I dropped a heavy object on it, killing half the existing nail. It hadn't grown back much at all in the eighteen months prior to begining to see Shelby. Within three visits with her, my nail grew completely back and looked so healthy you'd never know it was damaged. I pay a little more to see her than if I went to a mass seat nail salon where they rush you out to fill the seat again, but I know she's worth it. read more

I went here once on a recommendation for cleanliness. My daughter and I both had pedicures. Nice private place, Shelly was nice and it was cleaner than most places. Pedicure chair was not comfortable, it was just a cushioned desk chair. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but both my daughter's and my pedicure chipped off within a week. I've never had a pedicure do this before. Most pedicures usually last 1 month. Disappointed since it cost $40 each. read more

I've had two services by Shelby so far and both have been an amazing experience. I get really dry heels and she really took her time scrubbing and exfoliating to a smooth finish. Everything was very clean and sterile. Her chairs (both Pedi and Mani) are comfortable. She has a wide range of color options and is very knowledgeable about nails and you can clearly see this is her passion. She does have other options for more speciality art like ombré and stamping but I haven't had that done yet. Her nail place is in like an office building but her space is so inviting and open. Finding a salon who can work with dipping powder the right way is a huge challenge here in the PNW. It's a relatively new thing, while in Dallas, where I relocated from, it's the big thing. I tried another shop closer to me - what a huge mistake. I visited Shelby today for the first time, and well, she's simply wonderful. She gave me a lovely pedicure with her special mixture of scrub. I love the heated massage chair, the disposable foot bath, and the peace and quiet of her shop. She's very gentle, so you have no digging or sharp instruments near your tootsies. She then gave me an absolutely perfect dip and buff manicure in Aviator Gray. Perfect shaping, perfect application, perfect result. No drills - instead, gentle buffing that's easy on the cuticles, followed by a great hand massage. Scheduling is easy with Shelby as is payment. She's a great person to talk to as well.
