She said I can bring in any supplies/colors and she'd work with them. Very accommodating. Nail Depot is a tiny shop, very cute and inviting. Jennifer was welcoming and fun to talk to. This place is a diamond in the rough. We were visiting from L.A. and looking for a good salon. Jennifer is a one-woman show, but don't let that dissuade you. She is very capable and efficient, as well as very friendly and accommodating. She took our appointments 1 hour before the parade which travels down Broadway, right past her salon (which meant that she was trapped until the parade ended 2+ hours later). She has been in business for 16 years and her expertise very apparent. I love this place and would definitely return.

I have never had a more pleasant mani, pedi. Jeni did a fabulous job and we talked the entire time. I love the fact that she works by appointment only. She is such a caring person. Even though I was a 1st time customer she is going to research plants to ease my migraines and gave me dandelion tea to help me sleep. I mean, who does that for a perfect stranger? A very special person that's who. I have been to a lot of shops but no more. I'm already looking forward to my next appointment (and gab fest)!!!! Thanks so much Jeni. Jennifer is SO AWESOME!!! I went for my first appointment with her a few days ago, and man am I happy! I can't stop looking at my cute nails. I am originally from Orange County, so I am insanely spoiled with the seemingly thousands of options for nail salons. I really like blinged out nails with gems, designs, hand painted art, etc. and often would go to specialty salons to get these done. Once I moved to the central coast, I was pretty sad that I wouldn't be able to treat myself to anything but normal gel polish anymore. I went to a few places, but I wasn't really "wow"ed by any of them. Cue my appointment at Nails Depot! I picked a pretty simple design from the Yelp gallery because I wasn't sure exactly how detailed her designs could get. Imagine my happiness when she pulls out a HUGE box of glitter, and has a ton of gems and charms in the shop! I was so excited! On top of that, Jennifer is super nice and entertaining. The shop is also extremely clean, with plastic liners in the pedicure tubs and individual sterilized pouches for her nail tools. If all that wasn't awesome enough, she was able to give me gel nails with gems and designs in UNDER AN HOUR! Granted I didn't have anything to take off previously, but I have never had my nails done that fast. Ever! I am so happy that I found this little gem. Total waste of money . I got charged 60 dollars for a simple acrylic gel set . I did not like the end results either . I asked for a matte set and she even put the gloss on top of a crystal ( which is wrong, since matte goes first then the crystals ) . Will not be coming back here . Also, it took super long just for her to get my SHORT acrylic set finished. If I could put 0 stars, I would. UPDATE: they urged me by message to take this review off trying to make me feel bad about saying how I feel about her work. I did not think that was fair. Still feel completely the same about this place. My nails lasted 1 week . The gems fell off that same day. read more

Pro: Jennifer is really friendly and does not shy away from making conversation, the salon is clean and there are a lot of color selections. Con: Jennifer is the only person in the salon so it takes a long time if there are multiple people waiting for her, I felt like she rushed through my pedicure, I had a broken nail so she offered to fix it and she removed my gel nail polished, I wished she would have mentioned how much more it was going to be. ($10 to remove & $5 to fix broken nail) I was going to have to pay regardless but it would have nice to know in advance. Overall: Jennifer is nice and friendly but it came out to be a little expensive for a mani and pedi ($50) and if I am going to pay that much I rather go to a place where it's not going to take 2 hours. I won't be coming back. read more

I had a fantastic experience here. I am new to the area and was running late for my appointment, Jennifer accommodated me while being so sweet about it. In addition to the pedicure she was happy to give me information and suggestions on places to go in the area for shopping and various other needs. Jennifer did a fantastic job on my pedicure while using clean tools and a bag-lined tub. I will definitely be back, and will be adding a manicure to my next visit as well. Jennifer is the owner and operator of this adorable shop and she is AMAZING!! Takes the time to really get in there and remove all the dead skin on feet and toes(for me this is a big deal since I have lots). She is gentle and you can tell she takes pride in her work. If you have not visited her yet &you are in the area I highly recommend stopping by and having your nail needs handled by this professional with 20+ years experience. read more

Jennifer has been doing my gel nails for many years. A couple times in the past I tried other shops because I live at the extreme south part of Santa Maria and thought I'd save time not coming into town. But I was disappointed and my nails and cuticles suffered sorely. So I'm back to stay with her as long as I can drive (or Uber in!) and as long as she's working her shop. She knows what she's doing to keep your nails healthy and looking top-notch! She is talented, pleasant, and her prices are very fair! She's a one-woman operation so appointments are recommended but she is amazing at fitting in drop-ins. Parking is convenient and her shop is attractively appointed with a huge selection of polishes and embellishments. Try her and you won't be disappointed!! read more

I went in to make an appointment and ask for pricing on gel nails. Jennifer has a wide selection of colors to choose from that I was debating for a bit on which color I wanted. This is my 2nd time getting my nails done. I was very hesitant because my first time (not from here) it hurt when I got my nails done. It didn't hurt at all, she's friendly and funny! She brings up a conversation if there's silence for a while. I will definitely be coming back to get my nails done again or fill them in. Only thing I have to say is definitely make an appointment ahead of time. I'm not sure how long it on average to get gel nails but it took about an hour for her to do mine. read more

I have been coming here for over 12 years now, at times I do go to her husbands shop in A.G or San Luis when need be. It's amazing how Jennifer will accommodate my appointment, even staying late and around the holidays having her husband come help so I can make it in after hours after work. Now who does that? On a whim decided to get my nails done after over a year of doing my own gel....hands down this was the best choice I could have made. Jennifer greeted me warmly and quickly set to work on a full set with gel and pedicure. She is super fast and gentle. My nails turned out awesome so happy with her selection of OPI gel colors. I used to drive an hour to get my nails done. I'm pretty picky. But I found this hidden gem right in my backyard! My nails always look absolutely on point, they never lift and stay looking fresh for weeks! Im also into (classy) nail art, and this is place to get it. The main lady here, the owner I think, was so great. She helped my mom with arthritic hands, giving her an "off menu" hand massage and gave her salon pas patches that I think she had for her personal use. Very genuine, caring lady. The location was a funky little building with an unexpectedly impressive interior. Would be my #1 pedicure spot if I lived in the area, for sure. read more

I went in since they had great reviews but the place is so small and shabby. Two pedicure chairs and only one worker. Not a great neighborhood either. I walked out because I didn't feel comfortable but her reviews are good so if you are not looking for a great environment I suggest you try her. read more

HORRIBLE!!! Called and asked if anyone was available in half an hour (5:30pm) and she made me an appointment for 5:30PM the same day. Drove 20 min to get there just to find out they're closed AFTER she told me to come!!! The sign even says you're open until 7PM!! Thank you for wasting my time!!! read more

I was super grateful to find this place! I was in town for a death in the family, when I decided to get a gel manicure and pedicure. Jennifer was able to fit me in that same day, and she was so kind. I appreciate how the pedicure bowl was lined in plastic, for customer sanitation and safety. My mani/pedi are doing great after one week. NO CHIPS. Next time I'm in town I will definitely come to Nails Depot for more services from Jennifer! :-) read more

Total waste of $85 dollars. Very upset, because she did a TERRIBLE job. Nails look bumpy, uneven and crooked. Nail polish looks like if I my 4 year old would of done it. I've done my nails a number of times, never have I ever seen anybody dip your finger in podwer and then file the nail down. Horrible job. Very mad cause paid $85 dollars for ugly nails. I thought I was getting my nails done by a professional, not a trainee. I ask her to fix one nail, and she answered back with attitude I'm not done yet. She did a little cut in my finger because she wad fialing to much.i want my money back. read more

Unfortunately, the technician was extremely rough and actually cut me twice during the service. What made it even more disappointing was that the manicure was barely a manicure. My hands were soaked in water, but my cuticles were never properly pushed back or trimmed, there was no hand massage, and she simply filed my nails before finishing. For such a minimal service, I was shocked to receive a $45 bill I was traveling out of town and chose this salon because it was nearby, but I completely regret it. While I was there, another customer actually walked out in the middle of her appointment, and the staff were arguing with each other, making the entire atmosphere uncomfortable and unprofessional. This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service and nail salon experience I've ever had. I would not recommend this salon.

Showed up at 3 pm for an appointment for 2 pedicures. All of the chairs were full, which was an…read moreinitial red flag. We asked how long, they said "5 minutes". Okay fine. By the time we were seated it was pushing 3:20. One person started working on my feet, while the person I was there with just sat in the chair. Another 20 minutes goes by and no one had even come over to help. The person doing my toes went off to help someone with a transaction. In that time 3 more people came in for appointments, still with no one to help them. At that point we decided to cut our losses and leave. So we spent 40 minutes doing nothing. I got my toe nail polish off and toenails trimmed, that's it. The person I went with had no service done at all. No one really seemed to care that we weren't being helped or that we walked out. The person doing my toes did apologize but otherwise it felt like they didn't care and they had put us in the chairs only to keep us there not to serve us. I'm incredibly disappointed as I've had great experiences here before, but being treated that way, with an appointment is unacceptable. If you didn't have enough people to serve us, tell us that. I would have happily come later in the day or at a different time instead of being treated like that. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

Jennifer and Michael are the best! I live in Santa Barbara and drive to Santa Maria for my nails and pedicure. Jennifer does acrylics for me with Gel polish. They last and last. They are accommodating and always make time for me. They even worked on a Sunday so my nails would be perfect for my wedding. Today Jennifer spent extra time because I'm going on vacation and she wanted them to be perfect. Yes, Jennifer and Michael rock! It's a fun shop to visit and I always leave with a smile on my face. I've been coming here for 8 years & the quality of service never fails to satisfy. I always come up with a really cute designs for my nails & Jennifer ALWAYS aces the design. She always makes me feel very comfortable while she attends to my nails by making good conversation. She's very kind & attentive every time I go in to get my nails done. Sometimes I read these comments below where they rate her below 3 stars and I get sad. Their is two sides to every story. she is very friendly and hard working she works above and beyond to please every client. I been coming here for the last 10 yrs. other places hurt you when they do your nails but she tries not too. People please call in advance and be detailed on what your are needing so she can give you correct time and fee for your nail appointment. Thanks have a great day. read more

Jennifer is AMAZING! I have gone everywhere in town and have not been able to get acrylics like I wanted them anywhere. She left them just like the picture I showed her and she spent a lot of time working on them. They were thinned out and looked so natural they felt like my real nails. Will never be going anywhere else for acrylics, she really pays attention to detail and makes sure her work is perfect. Highly recommend! read more
