I arrived at Nail Design at 4pm and left at 6:49pm it took that long to get a basic pedicure. I was supposed to get my nails done too but I had already been waiting way too long. I still paid and tipped my nail tech plenty. I was new to Colorado and decided to give this salon a shot...never ever again. Aside from waiting two hours...my big toe on my right foot hasn't stopped bleeding as you can see the trim. The nail polish itself is sloppy as well. We had an appointments at 1pm didn't get out of there until 4:30pm for manicure and pedicure. Manicure was gel. Pedicure was regular polish. After they put polish on toes. It was wrong color. Wanted to charge me more to correct color on toes. Will not be back. I use to come here when Ben was working there. Never had a problem when Ben was there. Lee is still the owner. Really poor management . Mom also, had manicure and pedicure. Mom wanted the names of family members written on each finger. Wrote it all out for Lee. Eh, I think the guy who did my nails this time was an owner as he was too busy getting up to socialize than to focus on my nails. My toenails weren't cut straight (not even close) and his paint was streaky. He hardly spent anytime filing or really doing anything I couldn't accomplish myself in a five minute slap job. Me and my friend came in today to get our nails done. Our pedi's went great and I was next to get my mani done. I showed them what I wanted and they refused, because it was too difficult. I just wanted a french black mani on my stilettos with dip. Nothing crazy or ornate. My manicurist huffed and went to talk to another lady. I sat and waited to see if I could suggest a different design that they could do. I offered just a black nail instead, she still refused. She asked if another person could do it, one could but was already busy with someone else(40min+). I'm still stunned at the complete lack of customer service. I wasn't rude, I tried to compromise. I'm honestly more pissed off I made the drive from Denver to hang out with my friend only to be refused completely. Found this place about 2 weeks ago when I was looking for a nail salon. I've been here twice now and the amount of people walking in that door is no joke. You may have to wait a while to get seen, but it's worth it. I'm always hesitant with nail shops, but they do an amazing job on my nails. I was trying to grow my natural nails out but they kept chipping and breaking. I told Lee about this and she suggested acrylics and making appointments with her and she would help get my natural nails stronger and longer. Pedicures are simple, no hoopla menu like most places. I tried this location out because of the high reviews, but my experience was awful. My tech filed areas in my skin on multiple toes. I had to put band aids with cotton balls on them to be able to walk in my shoes for the next week. For my manicure, the same tech stood beside the pedicure chair and barely filed and cut my nails; they weren't even in the same shape on all nails. I guess because I chose not to paint them, she didn't see the need to make them look nice. They also didn't have individually packaged tools, which is an automatic for me to not return. I will say there were a number of other customers around me who had their requested techs and talked about being routine customers. read more

I made an appointment today to fix one of my chipped nails i come in i wait for twenty minutes and they come up to me and say the person who fixes that isn't here can you come back tomorrow after I called ahead to make sure they could do it and they said yes on the phone. At 4:20 in the afternoon the place is jam-packed. I will try a morning next time. Actually, the place had cleared out by the time our session was over. I took one star away because the place is not as spacious or as well-eqipped as the other place in COS we use. They couldn't be as well-equipped because of the smaller facility and not having the floor-space. We were greeted warmly and moved to the pedicure station when two opened up. The actual work was great, I felt that I got a better pedicure than the place I typically went to. When we left, the cashier was gracious and pressed a business card into my hand. My kids gave me a gift certificate to Nail Design at Rampart Village Center 7609 Union Boulevard in Colorado Springs a couple years ago. It was for Christmas. I put it in my purse. This Christmas I found it in that purse which I hadn't used since then. I called immediately to ask if they would honor the certificate. The lady who answered said no she couldn't because if she did it for me, she'd have to do it for everyone. My question is why wouldn't she honor it, since she did spend the money? Owner and all employees were extremely nice and held small conversations. Decent price for all the little things I had done. Lotion, exfoliating, cuticle trimming and shaping. This place is great. The service is wonderful and the staff is very friendly. It was quick and the work was good. However I will only rate this a 2-star. I do not believe in paying more for service. Ben did my nails. Again he was great. But I do not like the fact that I was "nickeled and dimed". I got sparkly pink tips--solar nails with a cute little design on my ring fingers. Solar nails are priced at $30 on the sign. Usually with tip. I spend no more than $40. But I did expect it to be a couple dollars more for a design. No problem. I got my nails all done up. I asked him to file a little thin. I guess it's called the coffin look. But I didn't want a lot. He filed just a little bit to smooth out the edges which came out very cute. 45 min later. My nails are dried and I'm ready to pay. $48 later I was not happy. They charged me $5 for the pink tip ( in ten years of going to nail salons there was never an extra charge ) $5 to file my nails. What?!? You charged me extra for 45 seconds of filing?? And $3 for the design ( which that I was prepared for ) Needless to say my review will not make a huge difference. But I will not be going back there. An extra $10 for something isn't right. The job was good. But again.. If you want to get "nickled and dimed" go for it. I will be going back down south to someone I've been going to off and on for years. But I moved up north in hopes to find something closer for me. read more
